42 Soul Contract

Unknown POV:

I shook in fear as Quil's eyes caught me watching him from behind a tree. I had just managed to escape from them after they chased me for a mile. This tree was my usual hiding spot. "THERE HE IS!" Quil shouted to his other three friends. My high school bullies- my whole life had been dedicated to running away from these four- mainly Quil. Quil was the alpha male. He bullied everyone and his friends joined.... when he was out of school sick they were normal people... but with him around they did as he spoke. I heard the others should they were going to get me. "Come here faggot! I've got a surprise for you!" Quil pulled out a knife from his pocket. "I'm gonna gut you for causing me to run one extra mile that I planned today!"

"Yeah! Get 'em Quil! We ran enough in gym for a whole horse in a track race!" Sammy shouted.

"Shut up idiot!" Quil snapped. "You sounded so stupid then."

"Don't horses run miles in track races?" Chase asked with a questionable look on his face.

"HEY! HE'S GETTING AWAY!" Jeremy shouted. I was running, my heart pounding as I headed for a public place, the mall.

"He's headed to the mall!" Chase shouted. I could hear them coming after me. The mall was only two more miles away. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, aching. I had trouble with running all my life. My body would forget to breath and I'd have asthma attacks periodically. I just made it to the front doors when I tripped over my own feet, unable to function right from my lack of breathing.

"Are you okay?" An old lady asked me. I shook my head at her and pointed to Quil and his gang.

"HELP! SOMEONE HELP THIS YOUNG BOY!" The old lady begged.

"Shut up grandma!" Sammy said, able to reach us first and held out a knife at her. "Shut up or I'll gut you like we're going to gut this fag!" I trembled as Quil's body lingered over me then, tearing my shirt up with his knife and was about to jab his knife down into my stomach. Boy did he forget we was in a public place and it'll get him locked away in prison.... better yet... Everyone can tell it's going to be self defense. This is my only chance to stand up for myself. I kicked him directly where it counts. He groaned out in pain. Jeremy and Chase grabbed me by my shoulder and hoisted me into the air. They were much taller than me, older too. Freshman getting beat on by the senior jocks.... how typical. I kicked and squirmed.

"Looks like you're short," Chase cackled. "Short a mile!"

"Didn't your mother teach you that you're supposed to walk a mile, not run one?" Jeremy asked in my ear.

"You like this fag?" Chase gave my ass a squeeze with his free hand. "That's all you'll ever get too from a man, aren't you glad I done it?"

"You're not a fag are you Chase?" Jeremy asked in disgust.

"What? No!" Chase hissed. I could hear Quil recovering and coming for me. He tackled me down into the ground, stabbing into my shoulder. I let out a scream from the pain. I heard guns firing then.

"Break it up! Break it up! This is my mall! Hand your weapons over, put your hands behind your head and lay your asses on the ground right now! You too grandma!" I heard the mall cop yell at us. I saw Quil look pissed then.

"I can't go to jail dip shit! When I get out you're dead!" Quil yelled at me. I heard his friends take off in opposite directions to get the hell out of sight while Quil was being aimed down at gun point. He rolled off of me and placed his hands behind his head. "Hey dad," he told the cop. "It's not what it looks like, I was defending myself! Honest!"

"Yeah? Fuck, Quillian! This looks bad on me and your mom! I can't wait to pull up the taps to see if you're telling the truth for once." THAT'S HIS DAD!? Another cop ran up and looked around.

"Damn, is that your boy Quillian?" The cop asked and started to laugh. "Boy this has been a day."

I watched as the second cop starting to ask the old lady a few questions while the first cop placed handcuffs on me and Quil. Quil glared me down as his father placed him in a waiting cop car before coming back to me. "I called an ambulance and we're going to get that taken care of," he told me and pointed at my shoulder. "Then from there we'll see where this will take us. We're going to have Steve over there watching you in the hospital while we run what evidence we've got through." I nodded towards him, sure I'd get away home free. "Can I have your mother's number?" I widened my eyes, no! Not my mom! I shook my head quickly.

"Got any ID on you?" I shamefully gave him my school ID and blushed. Man my school ID has the most embarrassing picture of me on it. I had a black eye that day and when my mom found out she gave me another one for keeping secrets from her about my bullies. I watched him walk off and after a few minutes he came back to me. "Boy, your mom is ashamed of you I tell you what. She didn't sound happy at all. She'll be waiting for you at the hospital." I widened my eyes. HE CALLED MY MOM! I felt panic rise up in me. The ambulance arrived before I could protest and the second cop Steve helped guide me to it.

A few hours past in the hospital, Steve was just outside my door and I was cuffed to the bed. They had to put stitches in my arm and they were pumping blood into me,  they told me I lost a lot and were surprised I stayed conscious. My mother sat in a chair glaring me down, she hadn't said a word to me. She suddenly got up and walked out, leaving me. Steve stepped in and looked at me. "You okay kid? Wow! If I ended up in a bed cuffed to it my mother would have yelled my ears slap off. Listen, Chief wants me to ask you a few questions." I nodded towards him.

"So," he walked over. "What's the deal with Quil? What happened?" I stayed quiet on that question, not sure how to answer. Quil might be saying something and wanting me to agree to whatever he says... if I don't I could be risking my life.

"Is Quil a regular bully to you?" Steve asked. "We can keep it off the record son. Just betwen us." I looked him over before nodding slowly. "What about those other three? What are their names? You don't have to answer, I'm sure someone at school can rat them out for you."  I froze up quickly. "Have you been bullied by them all your life?" He asked me. "You need to start answering me. We can press charges, we got enough hard evidence. I'll go ask your mom if you want to keep up the silence game. That old lady said they were calling you a fag, are you a fag?" I cringed and looked away. "What about those cuts on your arms? Are you suicidal boy? You want to kill yourself and make your momma cry? You emo kid?" I held my eyes shut tightly, begging for him to just stop. "Not gonna talk?" He asked me and sighed. He left then and I could hear him starting to talk to someone outside. I looked down at my freshly exposed wounds on my wrists. I had made them earlier today in the janitor's closet. The doctors had pointed it out while examining my body. My mom disapproved strongly, I could tell. I heard her voice yelling then at someone before her yells echoed as if she was leaving completely. One of my doctors stepped in and walked up to me, starting to check the monitors before looking at me.

"Well it looks like you're free to get off that blood bag," he charmed sweetly to me and started to unhook me. Steve walked in then giving me a look I never saw on his face. A bad look. Like a look he didn't want to tell me something but he had to tell it to me.

"Now I don't want to really do this," Steve begun. "But your mother, doctors, and I think it'll be best for your health. Doctor Cullen here has proscribed you some medication and your mother is placing you in Rosscrow Asylum. You're going to the nut house kid." I widened my eyes and shook my head.

"No! I'll be good," I promised.

"Not with what those cuts say," Dr. Cullen told me as he ran his fingers over my self inflicted wounds. I winced and tried to pull away.

~Time Skip~

I felt my back slam up against a wall, my head pounding with pain. I looked around and started to calm down from a panic attack. I'm okay, it's okay. I looked around the padded room and sunk against the squishy wall, landing back down in my sitting position. I looked down at the yellow straight jacket, the bright yellow being the only fun color about this place. I could feel an itch coming up my legs then, making me yelp and squirm to try to itch it. My whole body itched. I suddenly saw a reflection of me on the other side of the room staring at the corner of the wall, another of me looking at the door, another laid out in the middle, another resting on the bed. Whose the real me? I finally found myself pacing the small boxed in room. How long have I been in here!? "Let me out!" I begged and kicked at the door. I'm going insane in here! I paced the room with dread of being in here. Something like this place will make anyone go mad. A sane person mad and a mad person sane. I started in a circle then, hearing my mirrored images counting to try to stay sane. All I've got to do is count to stay sane. I laughed and fell down onto my back, laughing and tilting my head to the side. "Get me out of here!" I yelled. I heard a soft purr from out in the hall and then the room dropped a few degrees as the lights flickered then stopped, the sound disappearing with it. I sat up quickly, glad I done those sit ups in gym class now otherwise it would have been hard to do. I started for the door, leaning my head against it. "Hello?" I asked. "IT'S FUCKING COLD ASSHOLES!" I yelled, picking up my language since everyone spoke like that to get their way here. It dropped about ten more degrees and I could see ice creeping up the walls. I backed away from the door and fall back down into the floor, starting to shiver. It stopped and I felt the heat return to the room before the sound of heels clicking sounded near the door and then a shadow flicked across my walls. I looked at the bottom of the door, creeped out as my hair stood on edge. Oh man, is this another one of my hallucinations? The lights flickered before they busted completely and the glass fell to the floor around me as I was enveloped in darkness. A purring like noise suddenly started up again and I heard it all around me before something brushed against my back then my hair. I moved away from it quickly and tried to rush to the door. "LET ME OUT!" I screamed. "There's something in here with me!"

I was suddenly yanked back into the darkness, starting to be dragged by my ankles. I screamed out in panic and kicked at the figure. "Laurence~" I heard a voice say, purring it to where it sounded like velvet and rich chocolate. I froze up in my struggling.

"Y-yeah?" I asked. I was greeted with silence and the feeling of my ankles being held stopped. I saw a pair of bright blood red eyes watching me from in the darkness then saw a smirk grow, showing sharp, devilish looking teeth. I closed my eyes quickly, trying to catch my breath. Something gently touched my cheek then and I felt like my soul was trembling as a strong sense like I was being hunted by a predator was taking over.

"Oh, I just love tortured souls. They're truly damned," I heard the voice purr.

"Souls?" I asked softly and opened my eyes slowly.

"Beautiful," the voice whispered and then the feeling slowly trailed to the side of my neck then my chest till it was right over my heart. "You smell so good. I could sense your devastation from the depths of hell~"

"Hell?" I asked and laughed in disbelief.

"Don't believe me?" The voice purred in amusement and suddenly it felt like my heart was burning as screaming sounded from near me. "I am from Hell itself. I'm the demon that comes in the night and gives mad dreams- the demon that follows the insanity trails and the tortured souls. I could feel you crying out all the way from Hell~ You summoned me." I blushed and closed my eyes tightly.

"Hell is true?" I asked softly, scared out of my mind now.

"Oh yes, the monsters under your bed are real. The murderers on the streets are real. Hell is most certainly real, and so are demons," the voice purred and I was suddenly lifted up. I felt my bed under me in a few seconds as I was laid back. "Now... my sweet tortured Laurence~ Wouldn't you like to have a demon by your side?"

"Well..." I mumbled. "Would you get me out of here?" I asked. I heard a dark laugh then.

"I can," the voice purred to me and then I felt the sensation against my neck again, rubbing it. "But I don't do things unless I'm persuaded... so make me an offer I can't refuse."

"Well I guess...." I mumbled. "I don't have much to offer.... I'm stuck in here. What would a demon like you want?"

"Oh, many things," the voice purred and then I heard a slight growl by my ear. "A demon like me might want your body...." The voice trailed off and I felt the sensation slipping down my body slowly, trailing down it. "A demon like me might want a massacre of innocents.... A demon like me might want your soul."

"Trading my soul to get out of here is a bit unfair," I told him.

"Heh... if you think so," it purred then I felt alone and the lights cut back on. "If getting out of here isn't worth it to you and having a demon at your side till your death, then I have other uses for my time. I'll see if Jared down the hall is interested."

"NO!" I yelled quickly. "Okay, okay." I sat up trying to lure him back. "Don't go! It's hell in here." I heard a laugh then and I felt his presence returning to me. "You can have it," I told him. "My soul is my offer."

"Are you sure?" The voice purred and then I saw a dark shadow manifest in front of me.

"Yes," I told him quickly. "Just get me out of here."

"Yes Laurence," he purred and then I felt something in my hands, a piece of paper that glowed. "Sign," he ordered me, sounding eager as a feathered pen appeared in my hand, dripping with red liquid- blood. I blushed.

"Why do I have to sign it?" I asked.

"Because it seals your fate," the voice purred. "It makes your soul mine." I laughed nervously before signing my name on it shakily. It was snatched from my hand and a man appeared out of the shadow, eyes bright red with impossibly dark black hair. His skin was pale like the moon, perfect in everyway, but his fashion choices were extreme. He had on black leather stilettos that laced up all the way to his knees, stopping right under it and was wearing tight black pants and a white long sleeve shirt that was old timey looking with a dark black coat that came down mid thigh. He smirked and took his coat off, dropping it on the floor as he walked closer, his stilettos clicking on the floor loudly as his eyes scanned me with amusement and desire. I blushed as I watching him coming for me. Why's he so hot yet dressed like a classy stripper? He looked the contract over then rolled it up, smirking with a pleased look on his face. "That's it. You're mine," he purred, his voice coming out as a sweet velvet feeling as he looked at me out of the corner of his eyes. "Nothing will save you now. Your soul belongs to the fires of hell and my desires."

"Not yet," I told him. "You've got to get me out of here." He laughed and looked at me.

"You certainly remembered that," he purred then tossed the contract, watching as it burst into flames but didn't leave any ashes behind. He smirked devilishly and then disappeared from my sight. I could hear screaming down the halls and smelled the metallic scent of blood. I sat up quickly and started for the door. Why're they screaming? The door was unlocked when I reached it, slowly swinging open for me. A woman in a nurse's outfit suddenly ran past with a panicked, fearful expression as she held her neck, a knife sticking out of it.

"H-HELP! PLEASE!" She begged, screaming for her life. She tripped and landed on the knife, driving it further into her neck and she gagged, spitting out some blood and then started to drown in her own blood. I slipped past her in horror and slipped down the hall in utter fear. There were dead guards and doctors laying on the floor, almost tripping me up as I ran.

"Yes, that's it. Run Laurence," I heard the voice purr in amusement. I started to cry as I slipped past the corpses and went for the exit signs, running straight out of them and looked behind my shoulder at the building. I suddenly hit a hard object then heard the demon purring to me. He pulled me into his arms and I felt my hair being curled around his finger as he held me against him. "My sweet tortured soul~" I buried my face in his chest quickly and sniffled. "Shhhh, that's it," he purred to me and then rubbed the back of my neck. "That's it. You're safe with me. You're going to be delicious~" I tensed up at his words. Delicious? I looked up at him quickly.

"Delicious?" I asked. He smirked at me then, the look of desire stronger in his eyes with a hint of hunger.

"Oh yes~ You're soul is mine. I can do with it what I want when you die, and I love eating my souls." He purred to me and then leaned in and kissed my neck playfully. "Of course I won't till I'm ready to eat you~" I squirmed my way away from him and took off running from him. He laughed then. "You can't get away from me Laurence. I'll know where you are every second you live." I started to panic as I ran away from him, going towards the road. "There's no point in running Laurence~" He said and laughed evilly, following me. I could hear the stilettos clicking as he walked calmly after me. I looked over my shoulder at him as I ran from him.

"Yes there is!" I told him as I managed to reach the road. I looked ahead of me and went to cross it.

"Heh... there's a car a-coming," I heard him call out just as I stepped into the road. "Your soul will be in my hands before you know it!" He laughed as he stood by the side of the road and I heard breaks screeching suddenly. I widened my eyes and looked towards the headlights and panicked, trying to dodge the car. "We're going to have lots of fun in Hell~" I heard him purr just as the car reached me. I wasn't fast enough.... It barreled into me and then jerked to the side as the hood slammed into my body and sent me flying. The car veered off the road and crashed into a tree and I was left laying on the ground, broken as my blood began to pool around me. I felt horrible... like I was in a world of pain and that's all that existed. The demon looked down at me from above and smirked, looking pleased at seeing me like this. "Laurence~ You just couldn't wait, could you?" I looked up at him and shook my head as best as I could.

"Help me," I whispered. He gave me a sweet look and knelt beside me, a small moan escaping his lips at the sight.

"Oh, this is beautiful. I never thought that you would look like this when you died~ I'm so pleased with you Laurence! Oh my demons, you're so amazing." He gave me a lustful look then before he was leaning over me, desire written all over his face. I started to panic, my heart pounding faster with fear. I felt my head pounding in pain. "You look so great~" He looked me over and then leaned in, smelling one of my wounds before he licked my skin, tasting my blood. Another moan escaped him and I saw his eyes start to glow. I fought to stay conscious, refusing to let the sleep take me over.

"Help me," I begged him.

"Help you? Why would I do that?" He asked me and smirked playfully at me. He tilted his head then smirked again. "I could prolong your life to make your soul taste better... raise it myself~" He laughed evilly then. "You'll still die a painful death in the end."

"Please," I begged him. He smirked then and started to lean over me, looking pleased.

"Beg me one more time. I love hearing those sweet words leaving your bloody lips and broken body," he purred to me.

"Please help me," I begged and twitched one of my fingers. I could see darkness falling around him as it was hard to fight to keep my eyes open. "I don't wanna die." He laughed and then I was suddenly snatched.

"Oh my lord! Fuck! I hit someone!" I heard a panicked voice. "Damn it..." I looked around for the voice. A silver haired male was looking me over worriedly. He suddenly exposed fangs and leaned in, biting into my neck. I let out a scream, fear taking me over. IT'S A VAMPIRE! I'M IN HELL! I'M IN HELL! He started to drain me then, pulling me close as he rubbed my arm. I'm going to die!

"I don't want to die," I mumbled weakly. The vampire shushed me and then began to finish me off. He pulled back at the last second just when I felt like I was going to be finished and he looked me in the eyes and bit into his wrist, pressing it against my lips.

"Drink," the vampire told me quickly.

"NO!" I heard the demon fuming in the background, sounding pissed. "DON'T YOU DARE LAURENCE!" I looked towards the vampire, finding comfort and started to drink like he told me. "LAURENCE!" The demon screeched at me. "SPIT IT OUT!" I swallowed my first bit, moaning at the taste. "DAMN YOU! I'LL KILL YOU!" I felt fear consuming me and looked towards the demon and tried to obey him but the blood..... was so delicious. He glared me down, his body rigid as he was seething with rage as he watched me, unable to stop me. I let out a small moan as I gulped down the rest of the blood spilling into my mouth. The demon hissed at me, his eyes glowing a bright red. "I hope you die a most painful death. Oh, I swear I'll devour your soul when you die. It's only a matter of time boy. Not everything is eternal. Someone will kill you, and when they do, I'll be right there, ready," he hissed at me. I spit out some of the blood, coughing in fear at his threat and squirmed against the vampire. "There's no avoiding it Laurence. You've doomed yourself. One swallow is all it takes," he growled at me. I started to cry at his anger.

"I'm sorry," I cried out. My body trembled. He glared at me then started to stalk off, his stilettos clicking firmly against the ground. The vampire shushed me and held me close.

"There's nothing to fear," he whispered to me. "You're going to be okay. I promise." I felt my breath catching as something inside me started to awaken and my heart pounded in my chest. I felt like death was slipping up my spine as pain struck my body, eating away at my quickly. I let out a scream of pain. "That's just the process kicking in," he whispered to me and then picked me up. "It'll be over in a few hours," he promised, sounding a little worried. He pulled out his phone then as he held me in one arm then called someone. "Everest, I need a lift," he said calmly, looking around like he was checking the darkness for something.

"A lift?" I heard a soft voice on the end. "You know I can't do that."

"Come on, please? Neal won't mind."

"Yes, but my kids will," the voice answered.

"I have a fledgling," the vampire said quickly. There was a pause and then I suddenly was touched.

"A fledgling?" I heard the voice say, right next to me now. "Oh dear... you hit him. I thought you were told to stop driving fast!" The voice hissed.

"BUT I NEEDED TO GET HOME! I need to talk to Lyle-"

"IT COULD'VE WAITED IDIOT!"

"I'm not an idiot," the vampire grumbled.

"You knew better than to be driving that fast! You killed an innocent!"

"He's not dead... He's turning," the vampire said stubbornly.

"Yea- Hey... what's up with the straight jacket- Oh look, an insane asylum," the voice said calmly.

"Oh yeah, would you look at that," the vampire said and laughed. "We've got an insane fledgling on our hands. We'll have to watch him closely."

"You will have to watch him closely," the voice corrected. "Now let's get home."

"I'm not insane," I mumbled. I'm not.... I'm not insane. "It was just a few cuts.... I didn't mean to hurt the guard...." I mumbled. "The room was so cozy and cold..." I mumbled as I looked around for the demon. "The demon got me out," I mumbled. "Ask him. I'm not insane."

"Demon?" The vampire asked, sounding confused. "What demon?"

"Brother... just take him home and get him in a bed. You can't stay out here with him. The cops will be coming to find him," the voice said worriedly and we suddenly appeared in a bedroom. "Put him down and get that thing off him."

"I will... Jeez, you nag a lot more now that you've had kids," the vampire muttered and sat me down on the bed before he removed the straight jacket. I let out a pleased sigh of happiness and straightened out my arms, moaning as I could finally stretch them. I don't know how long it's been since I've done this.... I felt a rush go through them quickly as the pain took them over and they fell back down on my body. "There.. they're off," he whispered and then sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Good, I'll go tell Lyle that you wanted to talk to him. I'm not staying long either. I need to get back to my babies," the voice purred and was suddenly gone. I looked the vampire over and gave him a satisfied look. He saved me from the demon.

"Thank you," I mumbled. "You saved me from the demon.... He's angry but he's not going to get my soul now." He glanced over at me and frowned slightly before he decided to not say anything about it and rubbed my cheek.

"What's your name?" He asked me.

"Laurence," I mumbled softly. "My name is Laurence." I hid my wrists quickly under my body, ashamed of the scars on them. He noticed and gave me a kind smile.

"Those will be gone soon," he promised me. "My name is Silas, Silas Rosario- king of vampires."
