81 Crystal Beats

Laurence's POV:

I scrolled through my twitter, looking through the feed before coming across a picture of Sydney, Australia. I looked it over in admiration. "That's it," I told Toru. "I want to go to Australia. Specifically Sydney." We had been talking about places to visit lately, since I promised I would show him the world. Of course it was a special treat for me too. "We'll take a plane so you'll know what to do when you want to travel by yourself without the help of supernatural powers... Plus I've never been on a plane before and I really want the experience." I got plane tickets then easily, showing him how to do it. We'd take first class all the way. I texted a maid to get us carry-on bags to take with us as well as to pack our things for Australia. I looked towards him in excitement. "Our flight is in seven hours. I'm going to go get some blood, do you want something from the kitchen?" I asked curiously.

"Rice," he told me quickly and then tackled me, purring at me as he flicked his ears. "I want rice with pieces of fish in it~! Then I want some tea," he told me sweetly, giving me a cute look as his tail brushed against my leg.

"Rice and tea? You really should try more," I teased him. I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the kitchen so we could get something to eat. He followed me and pouted.

"But rice is really good.... I guess I could try a salad later," he hummed out, watching me as he laid his ears back. He leaned in and kissed my cheek before he gave a playful growl. "I could always try you," he teased me, moving a bit closer as he nipped at my ear.

"I don't think you should," I purred and shoved him backwards by his chest. "We'll make you eat steak and fries with a milkshake later." He looked at me and frowned then.

"What's a milkshake?"

"Oh. My. God. You haven't lived!" I pulled him straight out to the garage instead and took him into town with my car. I pulled up at a Sonic and ordered him a chocolate milkshake before shoving it into his hands. He looked towards it in confusion then at me.

"Why's it so cold? It doesn't even look like milk.... I thought it would be shook up milk or something," he told me then looked at it again.

"Take this," I gave him a spoon. "Scoop and eat."

"Uhhhhmm... okay?" He looked at the spoon then at the milkshake before he slowly scooped some up and looked at it. "It's all brown...." He frowned and put it in his mouth hesitantly before he moaned and sunk into his seat, forgetting me in an instant as he started to go for more of it. I laughed and took us to a steak house so he could have his first steak with fries. I'll get a chicken salad. When we're done, I'll stop by a vampire bar and buy myself a bottle of blood then take us home to get our suitcases for the flight. He finished off his milkshake rather quickly and perked his ears up when we reached the steakhouse, looking towards it then at me expectantly. "Do they have more milkshakes?" He asked innocently.

"No, but we'll get you a soda and if you're still hungry afterwards then we'll get you a brownie on the dessert menu." He nodded and then got out of the car before he looked at me and frowned.

"What about my tail and ears?" He asked me and touched one of his ears. "Do we have a hoodie? I could hide my ears at least... and then maybe get my tail down my pants or something." I stepped out of the car and looked him over.

"Can't you hide them?" I asked. "Like how a werewolf can go between forms." He bit his bottom lip.

"I could try," he whispered and then looked to be concentrating as he looked towards the ground. He glowed a bit before his tail and ears managed to disappear after about ten minutes of him working hard.

"There we go," I purred and reached out for his hand. He looked towards my hand and took it, giving my hand a slight squeeze before he looked towards the steakhouse in excitement. I laughed and took him in, getting exactly what I wanted for us on the menu before we went back home. I decided last minute to just grab a bottle before we left the castle for our flight.

I watched a TV in the corner of the room, waiting on our plane to board. We were just a minute away. I hummed and grabbed Toru's hand and gave it a squeeze. Our carry-on bags were right in front of us so we could keep an eye on them. I caught people staring at our hands from the other seats across from ours. I leaned in and gave Toru a kiss on his cheek just to mess with them. They gasped when I pulled back. Toru glanced their way as he heard them and blushed a bit before he looked at me and then gave me a playful smirk, stealing a kiss from my lips before I could pull back too far.

"Toru," I teased lightly.

"What?" He asked innocently then rubbed my hand with his thumb. "You didn't think I'd shy away in public, did you?" He teased back, playing with the people watching too but also me. He purred at me and gave me a sweet look. "My love, you know I wouldn't care what they think."

"I don't care what they think either," I told him. "Just please don't provoke the people that'll be on the same long hour flight as us." He leaned in and kissed my cheek.

"Mkay," he whispered in my ear then pulled back a bit before he looked towards them and gave them a sweet smile before he glanced around curiously, taking his hand away as he looked towards the window nearby with interest. I looked back towards the TV and hummed, watching the news that was on there. Toru got to his feet after a few moments and wandered over to a window, looking out it with curiosity but staying within a short distance from me. I heard a rustle across the room and saw a man with reddish purplish hair getting to his feet, adjusting the coat he was wearing on him. He glanced towards me and smirked a bit before he started my way. I watched him and smirked. That's a pretty color in his hair.

"I like your hair," I told him as I glanced it over. "It's burgundy, right?" I asked curiously. I was probably close to it. He chuckled and then sat down right where Toru had been sitting.

"Close enough to it," he told me and then looked towards my green hair. "You look like the Joker. It's pretty cool," he told me and smirked.

"It's what I was going for in my youth," I told him. "So I thought.... I might as well keep the look."

"Well, you made a good decision," he told me and looked it over before he curled it around his fingers. "It drew my attention...." I laughed and looked towards his hand.

"I bet," I purred. "So you taking this flight too? What's in Sydney?"

"Nemo from the last time I heard," he joked and then laughed a little. "You could say I'm taking this flight," he hummed out. I nodded and grabbed his hand that was messing with my hair.

"You're not aware of personal space, are you?"

"Nope, not at all," he told me and then entwined his fingers with mine instead of taking his hand back. He gave me a playful smirk and crossed his legs.

"What class will you be sitting in?" I asked curiously.

"First," he told me. "If I'm going, I might as well in style," he purred at me.

"I like that. Maybe we'll get lucky. What row are you on?" I held up my ticket. "I'm row six." He smirked.

"Same too," he told me and showed me his ticket, apparently having the side that Toru wasn't on. "Looks like we'll be near each other."

"What a strange coincidence..." I laughed and put my ticket up. "It's a pleasure meeting you."

"Pleasure meeting you too Laurence," he hummed out and then glanced towards Toru. "He seems to be having fun." I raised an eyebrow before catching his scent. He's like.... like.... Emile.

"I have a friend just like you," I whispered to him.

"Doubt it," he told me and looked back towards me with a smirk. "You can't have a friend just like me because no one is just like me."

"What's in Sydney?" I asked him. He must have a case there...

"Kangaroos if you go out further," he purred at me. I shook my head.

"I hope I stay clear of you in Sydney," I muttered. He's bringing death with him. He laughed and looked me over.

"That's a shame," he purred. "I'm looking forward to seeing you." I heard the flight being called to board first class. I let his hand go and grabbed my bag along with Toru's bag. He stood up and then started walking towards the door, not having a bag to get. He whistled as he walked through the doors after showing his ticket and winked as he looked over his shoulder at me. I walked up to Toru and handed him his ticket and bag.

"Let's get on the plane," I purred to him. "We have a peculiar person sitting on the same row as us. I think you'll like him."

"Like him?" He asked me curiously as he started to walk with me to the door.

"You'll see what I mean," I whispered as we showed our tickets and went through the plane up to first class. I looked for him instead of the row and stored my bag before sitting down next to him. Toru copied me and then sat down beside me on the other side and looked around with interest as a few more passengers walked in. The guy glanced at me and smirked.

"Hiya greenie," he teased.

"I never caught your name," I told him and looked around before picking up a menu I could order off of.

"Dominus," he told me and smirked as he looked me over. "So we're going to be sitting here for hours with each other Laurence. Are you ready?"

"To sleep half the time?" I laughed. "Sure." He chuckled then and gave me a playful look before he looked towards Toru who was watching us with a frown.

"Hi Ritoru," he said calmly, earning a small yelp from Toru who looked at him in surprise.

"How do you know my-"

"Because I'm awesome," Dominus replied and smirked at him. "Why don't you go ask a flight attendant for some ice cream?" Toru frowned and then looked towards the flight attendants who were busy trying to get everything set up. I looked out the small windows on the plane and frowned a bit before freezing up.

"That's what I forgot," I muttered. I'm going to have to go somewhere when it gets daylight. Probably down in the storage where the bags are. Dominus raised an eyebrow at me then watched as Toru slowly got up and shyly walked over to the flight attendants. They looked towards him and made adoring noises as they saw how cute he looked, walking up towards them for a treat. I could hear one whispering about how hot he was which made Toru blush as he heard them. Dominus laughed a bit and then wrapped an arm around my shoulder. I looked at his arm. Man why is it I attract beings like him? I grabbed his arm and flipped it back around me. "Hey, personal space."

"Why not?" He asked me and shrugged. "It's not like you're more than playing around with little fox over there, right? You don't seem like you are."

"I'm not playing around with him. I'm on a mission to show him the world. So you can mind my personal space."

"A mission to show him the world isn't a marriage sentence," he purred at me. "Besides, I'm almost positive you were only PDAing with him to mess with the others."

"That's not true. We like each other-" I groaned and rolled my eyes. "Why am I arguing with you about this?"

"Because if you don't, I'll put my arm around you," he hummed out, giving me an amused look.

"Oh go catch a chicken," I hissed and looked over my shoulder before out the window. He snatched up my hand then and looked towards Toru before he started to go through the compartment in front of him with his free hand, checking it out. I frowned and snatched my hand away from him and went back to the menu. Oh look! Sushi! I heard a girl giggling back over where Toru was and heard a picture get taken.

"They're not going to believe I met someone as cute as you," I heard the girl telling Toru, giggling. "Thanks for taking this picture with me~ Is ice cream all I can get you?"

"TORU! GET ME SOME SUSHI!" I yelled.

"B-but... okay," I heard Toru mumble. "Can I get some sushi too?" He asked sweetly. I heard the girls squeal, probably getting another cute look from him.

"Of course~! Diane! Get the sushi! Rachel! Get his ice cream- make sure it's the best one we have!" One of the girls ordered. "Come here cutie~ Would you like a shoulder massage as you eat your ice cream?" I frowned and looked towards my fox. I started for my feet. No one will touch him like that! The girl was giving Toru a sweet smile and was reaching for his hand as Toru gave her a small shy smile.

"Okay," he said and let her touch him. She grinned and then sat him down in a nearby seat, running her fingers over his shoulders and then went to massage them as she giggled. I growled under my breath before going straight to them and snatched him from her before giving him a kiss on the lips. He tensed up and then purred softly, kissing me back a little. The girl's jaw dropped at the sight and then she frowned towards me, looking upset that I snatched Toru from her. I looked towards her and smirked.

"Toru baby if you wanted a massage you could have asked me," I purred in his ear. I made sure to keep it loud enough for her to hear. I kissed his cheek then and ran my fingers across his body. "Come back to our row." Toru blushed a little and nodded.

"Okay Laurence," he purred and then kissed my cheek then started to bounce back to our row, looking happy. The girl glared me down then with jealousy and I could see some of her friends watching us. I growled playfully to him before kissing his neck. He paused and gasped softly, looking towards me as his face reddened into a blush. The girl narrowed her eyes and then looked towards one of her friends who nodded and disappeared off to where the other girls had gone to get our food. I laughed and pulled him back to our seats and accidentally stepped on Dominus's shoe. He yelped and then looked up at me.

"Could you not step on me?" He asked me and frowned. "Clutz." Toru sat down in his seat and purred, looking up towards me with a loving look as he curled up in his seat.

"Sorry Donny," I teased as I fell into my seat and let out a relaxed gasp. I reclined it back and stretched my arms. I heard a flight attendant start to tell us something about our seats, belts, the air masks, and other things like the lights and window shades. I felt Toru grab my hand as the plane started up and was about to take off. He whined softly and shrunk into his seat, giving my hand a slight squeeze. I reclined my seat back up and buckled up quickly then got him strapped down. He looked towards the seatbelt in fear and then looked up at me.

"What if the plane falls out of the sky?" He asked quickly.

"I doubt it," I told him and rubbed his cheek. "We have professionals running this plane." Dominus snorted then and looked out the window as the plane started to run down the track. Toru looked towards him then at me, another soft whine escaping him before he gripped my hand and buried his face into my shoulder. I smiled and kissed the top of his head. I felt a rush of adrenaline running through me as I felt the plane bouncing off the ground. Toru trembled a bit, but he seemed to do a little better as we started to get off the ground and the plane began to stabilize. The seatbelt icon was turned off then as the plane leveled out and Dominus took his off, looking outside with interest. I took mine off then got up. "I'm going to go check on my sushi," I mumbled and walked back to the flight attendants. They looked towards me as I approached and the one who had been trying to massage Toru's shoulder's earlier- Terri- glared at me. "Hey ladies," I purred. "You got my sushi ready yet?"

"Oh you asked for sushi?' Terri asked and frowned. "Girls, did you make him sushi?"

"Oh! He wanted sushi? I thought he wanted a rice bowl with some kelp," one of the girls said and produced a bowl of rice with torn pieces of kelp with a bit of fish in it. It looked like they destroyed my sushi.

"That's not going to get you girls a tip," I tsked out. "I've got a new request," I looked them over. "Get me something with alcohol in it." I pulled out my wallet and waved a few hundreds at them. "You do want this tip right?" The girls looked towards it then looked at each other.

"Go get him a strawberry daiquiri," Terri told them. A girl scrambled off and came back with a small glass, holding it out to me.

"There you go," she told me and gave me a smirk.

"Don't forget my boyfriend's ice cream." I threw the money at them as I took the drink and went straight for my row. When I sat back down I handed it to Dominus. He looked towards it and then smelled it.

"So you get me a daiquiri... but it's a virgin?" He asked, not looking impressed.

"Happy plane ride," I purred to him.

"You know this is pretty much a slushi without the alcohol," he muttered and took a sip of it anyways. Terri herself walked over with Toru's ice cream then, giving him a sweet smile and put the tray down for him then placed it down on it.

"There you go sugar," she said sweetly at him. "Anything else I can do for you cutie?" Toru looked towards it and smiled hugely.

"A milkshake?" He asked sweetly, looking towards her. She raised an eyebrow.

"Boy, don't you have a sweet tooth? What kind?"

"Uhhhhmmm... chocolate?" He asked, looking confused. She smiled then and ruffled his hair.

"Coming right up sweetie." I purred and watched her walk off before looking at him.

"When she gets back, tell her you want sushi." He looked towards me innocently and took a bite of his ice cream.

"Kay," he said cutely.

"Oh and we need to go to the bathroom," I told him. He frowned then.

"Why? I don't need to go to the bathroom...." He took another bite of his ice cream and moaned softly at it.

"Yeah but I need to with you," I purred.

"Why?" He asked innocently. Dominus started to laugh, nearly choking on his daiquiri. I smirked.

"Because I'm hungry." Toru tilted his head but nodded before he took another bite of his ice cream. Terri came back then and sat his milkshake down, giving him a sweet look.

"Anything else?" She asked.

"Sushi please?" He asked, looking up at her sweetly. "I'm really hungry for some rice and sushi sounds really good." She grinned and nodded, running off to go get it for him. I leaned in and started to kiss his neck then, licking right over a spot that'll tickle him. He laughed a bit and squirmed before he shoved a bite of ice cream into my mouth. I swallowed it and started to scrape my fangs against one of his veins. "Laurence!" He laughed and then shied away, looking towards me. "Are you really that hungry?"

"Oh yeah, save some for me." I laughed and leaned in, giving him a kiss. I heard his heart race a bit and he looked towards me with a blush as he pulled back. He looked me in the eyes before he bit his bottom lip then started to get up, taking care not to knock his ice cream over and began to head for the bathroom. I smirked and got up, coming after him. He went into it and shut the door behind him. I looked around, waited a few minutes, then went in after him and locked the door. I looked him over before backing him up against the wall with a playful growl. He gasped slightly and blushed, looking towards me. He purred softly and gave my cheek a small kiss.

"Please don't bite me too hard," he whispered to me and then tilted his head for me so I could get his neck. I bit down into him and moaned as his blood rushed into my mouth. I ran my fingers down his body and straight for his butt before giving it a squeeze. He gasped and tensed up against me. I suddenly felt his tail brush against my hand as he couldn't keep his complete human form together, getting his tail and ears back. I took my fangs out and licked his neck clean before trailing kisses to his lips. He blushed and looked at me, laying his ears back as he leaned in and kissed me before I could complete the trail myself. I pulled back and licked my lips.

"I'll have more tomorrow night," I whispered to him.

"Hmm? More?" He asked me softly and rubbed his neck.

"Well it's not like I would have been able to sneak a bottle onto the plane," I muttered.

"O-oh," he whispered then blushed. "Okay... you can drink from me then," he told me and kissed my cheek. "I don't mind.... It didn't hurt that bad." I nodded to him and winked.

"Go back to the row, I'll follow after a few seconds." He nodded and gave me a smile before he made his ears and tail disappear. He pulled the collar of his shirt closer to his neck before he started for the door. I suddenly felt the airplane shake then before a few screams erupted from in the passenger area.

"It's just some turbulence," I heard a flight attendant reassuring before the plane shook again but more harder. The passengers shrieked then as the plane felt like it was fighting. "Please put on your seatbelts until this passes!" Toru widened his eyes and paused at the door as he heard them and opened the door, starting to go out with a worried look before the plane shook again and he was thrown into the floor. He yelped as he hit it and tried to get back up but fell again before the plane started to feel like it was dropping out of the sky.

I could hear the passengers screaming and shrieking as the air masks fell down out of their compartments and heard a few babies crying as a bad feeling like a stone was falling into the pit of my stomach was making me freeze up. I could feel myself about to fall and suddenly saw me hitting my head as I fell into a bar handle on the wall and then the plane rapidly crashing with a huge explosion. I could hear everyone screaming as things seemed to be slowing down for me as my feet gave out from the unstableness and I began to fall to the very bar I had seen only seconds ago.

I yelped as I hit my head hard and felt my body healing the forming bruise. I held my head before going straight for Toru and grabbed him, pulling him into my arms. I looked around for the exit. I swear to fucking god if that damn reaper has something to do with this.... if Calix is behind my first flight I will kill them both. Toru started to cry as he clung to me and then looked around with fear before he spotted an exit to the plane. He looked towards me then.

"L-Laurence..." he mumbled and then hid his face into my neck.

"Tsk, tsk, if anyone survives this, it's going to be me and you," I heard Dominus saying from the doorway. "You're a kitsune after all. You shouldn't be too afraid of a plane crashing. If anyone should be afraid, it should be that vampire you cling to."

"I'll be okay," I whispered in Toru's ear. "You're going to be okay." Dominus laughed a bit at us then started to walk calmly away from us.

"Poor wretched souls~" I heard him call out as he walked among the passengers who were clinging to their seats and fearing for their lives. Toru trembled in my arms and held onto me tightly. I grabbed him and started for the pilot's cabin and went strait inside, looking around. They were both dead, beaten and bloodied like they had been murdered up here. The plane was crashing and no one was able to stop it as it barreled straight towards the Earth, and I was getting a great view of our descent to death from the pilot's cabin. I held onto Toru as I searched for an autopilot button. I pulled on a pair of the headphones.

"HEY! Anyone listening?" I asked into the microphone. "We've got a plane going down!"

"No one can hear you," Dominus hummed out from behind me. "This plane is going down, no matter what," he purred at me. "There will be no survivors- well, besides me and possibly that little fox. I don't know, can you die little fox?" He purred teasingly at Toru. I looked over the buttons quickly before rushing with Toru past the reaper and straight for the exit, looking for any parachutes on the way. I found them all torn apart and destroyed, sabotaged. Dominus laughed as he watched us from the door of the pilot's cabin and smirked. "No survivors~"

"Fuck," I yelled and looked at Toru. I walked us over to two unoccupied seats and sat down. "Do you want any alcohol?" I asked Toru. He looked at me with wide eyes then at everyone else who was sobbing and praying for dear life before he looked back at me.

"Y-yeah," he whispered.

"Heart attack in row ten~" I heard Dominus sing out and then the dying croaks of a man behind us. I looked down into the aisle and caught a bottle rolling, smirking as it was vodka. I handed it to Toru.

"Drink all of that. This will be over when you're done." He looked towards it then at me.

"What about you?" He asked me softly, giving me a worried look. "I don't want to hog it all. You might want some too."

"Nah, I'm going to go get some blood," I told him and got to my feet, snatching a human out of it's seat in front of us and sunk my fangs into her neck. She shrieked and started to thrash at me. I heard a low wolfish growl a few seats back followed by another one. Toru looked back at the growls in alarm and quickly drank some of the vodka. I pulled back and licked my lips.

"One hell of a ride," I looked back to the growls. I was met with a boy and a girl staring me down, their eyes glowing slightly as they growled at me, their features becoming slightly wolfish as I looked towards them. Toru shrunk down in his seat and whimpered.

"Wolves.... Oh my Inari... It's wolves.... WOLVES!" He shrieked and got to his feet, taking off as he glowed a bright white and then was in his fox form, running off in fear at the wolves. I looked towards him then in alarm.

"Toru!" I yelled. How dare he leave me while we're crashing. I started for him but was met with a huge impact that threw me straight into the aisle floor and made me chip my fang.

"Ooooh~ Not much longer now," I heard Dominus say excitedly, a joyful look entering his eyes. "I'll have all my souls that I want~" I felt something crash against me and Toru snuck up my shirt, curling up against my chest as he trembled. I heard a small growl behind me then.

"What the hell are you doing on a plane?" I heard Calix growl at me.

"Calix?" I asked and sat up, looking for him. "Calix! There's this crazy guy trying to bring the plane down," I told him. He looked me over and then looked towards Dominus.

"Oh... it's a reaper," he hummed out and looked disgusted. "Well fuck, I might as well go home. He's killing you for me."

"Calix!" I hissed as I got to my feet but widened my eyes as I was thrown back by a hard impact which threw Calix directly on top of me and I could hear an explosion going off as fire erupted and I felt stressed as the fire started to catch around us. Calix groaned and sat up then yanked my shirt up, looking towards Toru.

"YOU FREAKING ANKLE BITER! YOU HURT FALLING ON TOP OF! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU MADE OF?!" Toru looked up at him and growled before he snuggled up closer to me and hid his face against me. He nipped at my chest then and whimpered, laying his ears back as he trembled, refusing to look at the fire near us. I looked towards the fire and was blinded by the brightness of it before getting up quickly and looked around for a safer location. I could see a hole ripped into the side of the plane and could see we were teetering over a cliff's edge, about to fall again. Only a few had survived the crash, clinging onto their seats as they cried out, trying to get away from the flames. Those who had managed to live were bleeding and suffered mostly head damages, but there were a few who were unconscious and about to be devoured by the flames. Dominus was laughing at the destruction and smiled hugely, picking up a corpse and started to dance with it around the airplane.

"Death~!" He said happily. "No one is going to live either! So perfect~!" Calix looked towards Dominus with a frown and then looked at me.

"I'll see you in Hell," he told me and disappeared on me.

"CALIX!" I screamed. Fucking demon. I looked at the hole before pulling Toru with me and pushed him out of it so he wouldn't suffer the next crash. He looked towards me with wide eyes as he laid his ears back. The plane creaked from my sudden movements and Dominus's dancing, and he let out a fearful yip.

"Laurence," he cried out, starting to come back for me but the plane groaned and started to slide, picking up speed quickly and begun to hurtle as he was left behind on the cliff. I could hear him crying out for me in fear as the plane began to fall for the last time, the survivors shrieking and crying out as they clung to their seats. I fell backwards as the weight pulled on me and I hit my head hard against a fire extinguisher. I grabbed it quickly and tried to put out the fire around me. I was suddenly thrown, falling forward and my body was slammed against a doorway, my bones breaking against the impact before I was hurtled into the pilot's cabin just as the plane hit the ground for the last time. I could hear shrieks and then silence after another explosion went off, shaking the world around me.

My whole body felt like it was burning and I could feel my muscles aching as my skin and nerves screamed out in pain. I felt like death. The world was fading away as I couldn't move, and Dominus hovered over me for a split second with a grin just before the world went black....

I woke up groggily, hearing an angry scream. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO!?" I heard Dominus shrieking. My whole body felt like it had literally gone through Hell, but I could feel it trying to heal. I had survived somehow... just barely. It was hard to breath, but I didn't need to after all.... "WHERE ARE ALL THE SOULS?!"

"Calix," I mumbled.

"What is it?" Calix whispered from beside me.

"Calix?" I asked in surprise.

"Yeah, I came to collect your soul, but I found you were alive," he hummed out.

"It hurts," I groaned out. It was hard to tell him how bad I felt. "You took his souls..."

"Nope, you did," he told me and laughed a little. "I'd imagine it hurts. Your whole body is burned and charred and your body is trying to reform some of your fingers and part of your leg." I could feel somewhere in the back of my mind calling me back to rest.

"Toru," I mumbled.

"The ankle biter is on top of the cliff," he told me. "He's safe... for now.... Your body is trying to form a crystal. Don't worry about too much right now." I opened my eyes a little and looked around in fear he was lying to me and I was in hell. We were sitting just outside the wreckage like he had pulled me out and Dominus was racing back and forth between the corpses, looking pissed. I could hear Toru yipping on top of the hill, sounding mournful like he didn't know I was alive. I could hear the heartbreak in his voice. He couldn't see me.... He thought I was dead. I strained to look around before looking straight at Calix.

"Why?" I asked him. "How... What's going on?" I asked and reached out for him. He must have had something to do with this. He was wanting me dead, why am I alive? I looked towards my badly burned hand before dropping it to the ground. "Calix..... Please get me Toru." He looked at me and frowned.

"I don't like touching that ankle biter... but I guess I will, considering you somehow managed to survive and the souls are manifesting in you as a crystal.... Who knows how long you will live? Fuck." He groaned and got to his feet, looking irritated. "You better die someday," he hissed at me then disappeared. He reappeared suddenly, holding my squirming littke fox in his hands. He dropped him and wrinkled his nose as he whipped his hands off on his skintight pants. Toru yelped as he hit the ground then looked towards me before his ears immediately perked up and he was on me in seconds, crying out for me with worry and joy at the same time. I let a cry out of pain as he touched me. I took in deep breath, making my situation worse.

"Toru," I begged him. "Help," I begged Calix. I felt an immediate thirst taking over me at the smell of Toru. My fangs exposed. I don't even understand... A crystal? I'm not a pureblood! Calix frowned slightly at me then snatched Toru from me.

"I'd never hear the end of it if I let you eat him," he sighed out and then disappeared. He reappeared quickly with a girl who looked about 20 and then sat her down next to me before he leaned her neck over my lips. "She is one of the many souls that sold herself to me. You can drain her if you want. If it bothers you to kill her, she doesn't have much of a life anyways- no lover or kids to worry about," he purred towards me then scratched her neck, making her warm blood hit my lips. She yelped and trembled slightly, squeezing her eyes shut as they waited for me to eat her. "Toru is waiting for you back in the castle. I have someone watching him for you, but you better hurry and get back. He was threatening me," he purred in amusement.

I opened my lips in hunger and let the blood slip down into my mouth, swallowing when it started to fill my mouth. I let out a moan as my body started to heal faster. I felt something pulse suddenly, shaking my body a little as the pulse spread across my body. I coughed up a little blood from shock. I looked towards Calix as I continue to feed. It's surprising. If Calix really wanted me dead he could have let me die here. He could have kept Toru mourning on the cliff and persuaded Dominus to kill me and he'd let him have all the souls except me.... I knew Calix was telling me the truth about the crystal forming.

Especially after I felt it shake my body. Why is he helping me? He just came so close to taking me and being done with following me around. What if he's doing this to help my crystal completely form then take it?! I felt my heart start to race at the thought. He watched me and then glanced over at Dominus who was still ranting and raving through the crash site, trying to find his souls. He smirked a bit and then looked towards me before he leaned the girl down closer to my lips so I could bite her myself and get as much as I wanted. I bit down into her, moaning as the blood gushed into my mouth.

She yelped and then held herself up a bit but didn't dare to get up and run with Calix watching us. I could hear him purring in amusement, eyeing her down hungrily. He was going to devour her soul as soon as I finished her off for him. I could tell by the look in his eyes. Maybe he's keeping me alive to just kill off his souls that are still alive. I closed my eyes as I drained her to the last drop and released her. He snatched her from me and I could hear him moaning softly. "Her soul is so tasty~" He purred happily and laughed in delight. I looked towards him before adjusting myself to try to sit up, I let out a groan as I hurt myself in the process. He looked towards me and discarded her lifeless body, tossing it to the side then looked me over. "Want another?" He purred with a smirk. I gave him a small smile before nodded.

"Yeah," I told him. "Get me one that tastes good." He disappeared and then reappeared with a man this time, pushing him down to me. He yelped as he saw me then widened his eyes.

"Calix!" He hissed in anger. "What the hell do you think you are doing?!"

"I'm collecting your soul and feeding a soul that is better than you," he told him and smirked, shoving him towards me. "Eat up Laurence~" I looked the guy over before grabbing him quickly and bit down hard into his neck before starting to drain him. He shrieked and tried to get away, but Calix helped hold him down for me and then pulled his corpse away from me when his heart stopped. He purred at me and then looked at the corpse before he leaned in towards it and smelled it. He moaned softly and then turned away from me with it, starting to devour the soul left inside before he threw it where the other girl had been.

He laughed and looked down at me then, eyeing me as he checked out my wounds. I looked him over before looking at my wounds, seeing the skin was recovering well. I laid back down, feeling extremely tired. He said I was better.... He watched me then scooped me up. "Let's get you out of here before Dominus figures out what happened to his souls," he purred in my ear. "He'll come after you when he finds out." We were suddenly in my bedroom back at the castle, Toru curled up on my pillow in a small furry ball with his tail pulled tightly around him. He sat me down on the bed and rubbed my head. "You'll recover well from here. Your crystal is going to be forming for the rest of the night... and possibly through tomorrow morning. If you want some more blood, just say my name," he purred in my ear then rubbed my cheek as he started to pull away. I grabbed his shirt quickly to prevent him from going.

"Calix, don't go. Stay here while I sleep." I looked him in the eyes. "I don't want Dominus surprising me during the day." He frowned at me.

"You have the ankle biter," he reminded me.

"So?" I asked and brought Toru closer to me. "Stay here too." He sighed and then eyed us down before he went over to the couch and sat down on it.

"Alright, but you will be telling Emile where I was so he doesn't kill me," he told me and crossed his legs. Toru opened his eyes and looked up towards me, laying his ears back then quickly was in my lap, giving a sharp whine. I rubbed Toru's ears, feeling my eyes fall heavy from his soft fur. He started to relax as he smelled me and then snuggled up against my stomach, curling up on me.

"Laurence~" he whispered lovingly. "You're okay~" I nodded and started to rub at my aching chest, ignoring the touch of his fur. He looked up towards my chest and then tilted his head, laying his ears back then sat up and leaned in towards my chest, smelling it. He gave a soft growl and then tensed up, backing up a bit as he looked towards me in shock. I watched him curiously.

"What's the matter?" I asked.

"You smell different," he growled at me and then backed up off my lap, looking towards me with an unsure look. "You smell like a pureblood now- with a ton of other people and things attached to you."

"Yeah," I whispered. "Calix said that the souls... Collected and are forming a crystal in me." I held my chest and closed my eyes for a few seconds before looking at him. He backed up a bit more, looking worried as he looked towards my chest and then scampered over to my pillow and quickly went under it. "Toru?" I mumbled. I heard Calix laugh slightly.

"He's still Laurence, ankle biter," he purred from the couch. "He just has a crystal now. Enjoy it." Toru poked his head out from under the pillow and looked towards me then glanced at my chest before he looked towards Calix then slowly started to come back to me. I held out my hand for him.

"Hey," I whispered. "It's still me.... A very tired me... but it's still me." Toru looked towards my hand then up at me before he perked his ears up then ran back into my lap, putting his paws against my chest as he licked my cheek and then nipped my ear. I groaned and grabbed at his paws, pulling them up and off my chest. He looked at me and wagged his tail before he glowed and then was in his human form. He wrapped his arms around my neck and purred, starting to kiss my neck. I looked him over before smiling and exposed my neck. I closed my eyes and curled his hair around my fingers. He purred and then kissed my neck before he started to give me a love bite in the crook my neck. I smiled and tugged on his hair. "Toru."

"What is it?" He asked me sweetly and licked me over the love bite.

"I'm really tired," I whispered. He pulled back from my neck and then looked me in the eyes.

"Do you want to go to sleep?" He asked me and then gave my cheek a gentle kiss, starting to calm down for me.

"I almost died," I mumbled. "I deserve a nap." He gave me a sweet look then nodded.

"Okay," he told me and then got off my lap as he crawled towards the top of the bed and got under the blankets. "Let's get some rest.... We really did have a big night," he mumbled and then looked towards me. "Let's never get on another plane either."

"What?" I asked. "I'm not discouraged from planes. I still want my trip to Sydney." He shrunk back into the bed then and whined.

"BUT WE ALMOST DIED!"

"We won't die on every plane we get on," I mumbled and let a yawn slip. He bit his bottom lip as he watched me and then curled up.

"F-fine... but if we die, I'll blame you," he warned me. I could feel his fear growing at the idea of getting on a plane, but he was shoving it down for me, trying to suppress it. "We can get on a plane and go to Sydney...." He held up the blankets for me then, giving me an expectant look. I groaned as I forced my body under them and curled up to a pillow.

"Just let me sleep," I mumbled and started to drift to sleep.

~~~
I smelled blood nearby as the sun went down and felt it dripping on my lips as Toru squirmed beside me, becoming alarmed at the sudden scent of blood in the room. I moaned and opened my lips, letting the blood fall into my mouth. I opened my eyes slowly out of curiosity. Calix had a human again, feeding it to me as she squirmed in his grip. He purred and gave her an amused look as he made sure she was bleeding well enough for me to be fed. I exposed my fangs and leaned into her, biting down hard. I started to drain her and moaned at the power the blood was giving me. Calix watched us and then pulled her away from me when I got all the blood from her. He looked me over and then smirked.
" Got enough?" He asked. I nodded and licked my lips clean before sitting up. I rubbed over my chest before starting for the bathroom. My strength was regained and my body had healed while I slept and fed on her. I heard it get silent behind me and sensed he had left with her corpse, probably to go devour her soul in private.
"Laurie," I heard Toru mumble from the bed tiredly.
"I'm taking a shower," I told him and went into the bathroom. I turned on the water and stepped into the tub.
"Oh... okay," he purred to me and I heard him snuggle up to the sheets. I washed my sore body and dried hair before getting out. I walked up to the mirror to see the horror of my hair. I had lost it from the plane crash and it grew back with my natural color, a dark brown.
"Just great," I muttered. I'll have to get it done again.... I reached down to my chest and touched over the formed crystal. I caught an image of it rooting inside of me, growing. I went into the closet while drying off with a towel and put on some cargo pants, a tank top, socks, and slides. I walked out to Toru and crawled back into bed with him. He purred as he caught my scent and then snuggled up to me, moving into my arms and then hid his face into my neck. He growled softly and then kissed me there, wrapping his arms around me. I purred to him before hiding my face against his neck.
"Did you enjoy your shower?" He asked me and then nipped at my ear. I nodded towards him.
"Yeah, I'll have to dye my hair again. Unfortunately it's not green."
"We could add it to the list of you showing me things in the world," he hummed out to me. "After all, I haven't really watched someone dye their hair." He laughed and then nipped at my ear playfully.
"I'll go get it professionally done.... I think it would be nice." I hummed at the thought of not having to do it myself this time. I could pay someone to do it.
"I still wanna watch," he told me and then purred towards me, kissing my neck again. "I think it would be cool!" He laughed and then kissed my collarbone.
"It'll take like an hour," I mumbled. Plus I will have to find a hairstylist that'll be open late. That'll be hard to do. I picked up my laptop off the nightstand before searching hairstylist in the area we could go see. I found one that would be open until dawn, arousing my supicion that it was for supernaturals. I felt excitement rousing in me. "Okay, I found a place that'll be open until dawn. I think a vampire might run it. We'll go get my hair done green and come back here afterwards." I shut my laptop and looked at him. My phone was wrecked in the plane crash. "I'll have to tell a maid to get me a new phone," I mumbled. At least I will have a new phone and new joker green hair. Something good came out of that plane crash.... oh... and let's not forget.... I rubbed over my chest, remembering the crystal. I'm a pureblood now?
