92 Amelia's Child

Silas's POV:

"So I got in touch with my friends and they told me that there is a way to separate Sylar from Amelia," Aurelio told me as we stood a few feet outside of her cell. I widened my eyes.

"Really? Can we do it? Please?" I asked him quickly, grabbing his hand.

"Yeah," he told me. "We'll have to have them both present and restrained of their powers. But.... there is a slight chance she might die during the procedure but he'll live if we're quick about it." I frowned slightly.

"They might die?" I asked him. "How slim is that chance?" Is it worth the risk? I don't want her dead... but I want them separated.

"Fifty fifty. We're talking about outsides breaking a strong bond." He patted my head then. "All that matters is Sylar's freedom, right?" I bit my bottom lip and nodded.

"Y-yeah... but I'd like it if they didn't die," I whispered. Fifty fifty? That's not a slim chance at all.... That's flip a coin.

"I know," he groaned out. "No one wishes for death like this."

"I take it that it'll be very painful for them then," I mumbled and looked towards the cell. This is also my brother's life we're gambling with.... If she dies... we'd have to act quickly but what if we mess up and he dies as well as her?

"Look... I'm going to go grab the ingredients.... you get them both in the same cell." He patted my shoulder. "We're doing this." I bit my bottom lip and watched him before I nodded and started to walk up to Sylar's bedroom. I knocked on it when I reached it and let out a purr.

"Sylar~ I need you to come with me," I called out to him. He groaned and covered up his head.

"No," he whined out. "I'm not in the mood. Plus you sound like a guy." I frowned as I walked in and over to him.

"Sylar, come on." I scooped him up then anyways. "I need you to do this. We're going to free you from the witch." He let out a predatorily growl.

"Silas!" He yelled and smacked my chest. I frowned and held him closer.

"What?" I asked him. "You're fine."

"I'm not fine," he grumbled before another one of him appeared and stole him from me. I groaned.

"Sylar, knock it off. You were fine with me before. Please don't make this hard. I want to get you separated from the witch. I want you to be safe and here," I told him, looking at him in his clone's arms. "I'll let you have some of my blood~"

"Ewe," his clone said and started down the hall. "I rather have bottled blood."

"SYLAR! GET YOUR BUTTS BACK HERE!" I growled, going after them. What the hell?! Is he on his time of the month?! He was fine with me a little while ago! We even agreed to take down the hunters together!

"We're going to that witch," I heard him tell me. "Isn't that what you just said we was doing?" I frowned and got beside them.

"Yeah, but you shouldn't walk away from me," I told him and sighed, calming down.

"Then keep up," I heard him purr from his arms. I shook my head a bit and then looked around the hallway as we walked.

"Sylar... you do want to be separated from her right? Really badly?" I asked. I wanted to make sure.... I mean, I want him separated. I really do... but there is that chance... that fifty fifty chance....

"I don't care," he said calmly. "Maybe that's just my bond talking," he shrugged. "A part of me really does... want to stay with her. You're the one taking me from her. At least with her my pain from the loss of my mate is gone. It's like she blocks it from my mind. It's better than dealing with it." They stopped walking and got extremely quiet, motioning for me to do the same. As I was stopped in my tracks, I heard a faint howl picking up outside the castle before the whole pack let out vicious howls. "I think we have a visitor," he said softly. It must be the dragon king coming for Hesper like we suspected he would. When Rei got home, he told me Hesper was safe in Kingsley's castle. He also told me about the whole adventure against the dragon king. I heard the servants start to race down the halls. "Probably more of an intruder the way those wolves are howling. We should be cautious."

"Yes... maybe we shouldn't do this tonight then.... We don't want an intruder to find us and ruin it." They might accidentally get him killed during the ritual or whatever it is.....

"So you will be taking care of the intruder tonight I take it.... I guess I won't be needed then." His look-a-like turned to go back to his bedroom. "Come get me when we are doing something." I frowned.

"Want to help me with the intruder?" I asked and watched him. I mean... I know what happened between us... but I wish he would still spend time with me.

"Only if you paid me to do it," he scoffed out softly. "I'm not in the mood to tell a grown ass dragon to go home. It's not even my kid to protect."

"Not even to spend time with your big brother? You're supposed to help me hunt the hunters later...." I reminded him softly, starting to follow after him.

"When you're ready to hunt them down, give me a call." He waved at me from over the clone's shoulder.

"Yeah, of course I will come for you, but don't you want to spend more time with me besides that?" I frowned a bit as I stopped again and watched.

"With you?" He asked. "No. You might be a brother... but you haven't been one to me." How have I not been a brother?

"I have been a brother to you! I was so worried for you when I heard about Colsin but I didn't think you would want to see me, and when I heard you went missing, I freaked out and went to find you! I'm currently trying to get back your freedom as we speak, and way before that, I came to you and no one else when I was dead! Before that, I used to get you cookies out of the cookie jar when we were younger and I used to help you with things you wanted." I walked up to him and went to grab his clone's arm but stopped. "How have I not been a brother to you?!"

"You left me for him," he mumbled softly. "You had his kids and everything."

"That's different Sylar! That is not being a lover. You had a mate, and I wanted you to be with him because I knew he could make you so happy and it was unfair to him that I was keeping you to myself. I love Rei too, and I love being with him just like you were starting to love being with Colsin. I was always your brother, and I haven't quit trying to be your brother. You're the one who pushes me away!" I bit back tears that were forming in my eyes. It's so unfair! I just want him to forgive me, and I want him to let me be the brother I could be for him. I want to spend time with him....

"I didn't allow you to marry him but you still did and you had children with him. I don't care anymore that you wanted me to be happy. You got everything you wanted and now you're still wanting more but I've lost everything. I don't want your attention anymore. You had your chance. Go be with your mate and children." I frowned.

"Sylar... let me be here for you. I don't have everything I want. You're wrong about that, but I want to be here for you. I know you're angry with me, but I want to make it up to you. I didn't want to upset you this badly, and I wish there was a way I could've made things go differently- where he would still be alive. You wouldn't be so upset if he was still alive," I whispered. "You brought me back to life once, and I want to return the favor by being here for you, like I was supposed to have been. I should've come the moment he died, but I didn't because I was afraid you'd be angry and you wouldn't want me there at all...."

"You're right about that... I wouldn't have had wanted you there." He let out a small huff. "We're going to kill the hunters and that'll be it between us. I'm going to get my own condo somewhere... this castle is getting too crowded." I tsked and then walked up, snatching his clone and pulled him into a hug then looked down at the real one in his arms.

"You don't have to leave. In fact, you shouldn't leave," I told him firmly. "You need to stay here, where it's safe. If you really hate me that much, I'll end up in Japan eventually."

"No... this isn't about you. I want to leave for my own reasons. I want to go out and just have some fun. It's a rebellion. I don't want to be stuck in the same household for the rest of my existence. I want to go look at the stars from the dessert.... or watch the advertisements play on the buildings in New York. I want to see the world because Colsin and I were going to do that... Then he died. Maybe if I get out I'll be able to find my next soul mate quicker and be able to heal from what this castle has done to me." I softened my gaze and nodded.

"Okay," I mumbled and gave him a soft smile. "Then do it.... Just make sure to call me once a week so I don't get worried," I purred sweetly to him. "Tell me what the world looks like."

"I'm sure you already know thanks to Japan and Hawaii," he grumbled under his breath. He shoved me back then. "Stop hugging me. I might be the younger brother but I'M NOT A LITTLE KID ANYMORE!"

"Just because I've been there doesn't mean I know what the stars look like in the desert... or what all those pretty colors on the buildings in New York look like.... Besides, I hug you because I love you," I told him and gave him a smile. "You're one of my favorite siblings, right up there with Lyle. I don't even really hug Everest or Esther."

"Well maybe you should," he hissed. "I'd hug them over you."

"That's just because you're mad at me," I told him and laughed slightly. "You're always going to be mad at me because I never deserved you the way Colsin did."

"Shut up!" He hissed. "You're getting under my skin already. I'm not mad at you... I hate you with a passion." I looked at him and nodded.

"Okay... you hate me then. At least it means you still care. If you didn't hate me, you wouldn't care," I mumbled to him. "I guess it's alright.... You have good reasons."

"Now I'm really starting to hate you good. I'm going to go plot your death if you don't shut up," he told me and slipped out of his clones' arms before making him disappear. "I think I'll put your crystal in a bottle of the thickest pig blood I can find." I wrinkled my nose then.

"Ewwww! I don't want to be put in pig's blood.... How about you rip my fangs out instead?" I asked him and rubbed my lips as the thought of having my fangs ripped out made me shudder.

"Maybe I should!" He hissed. "I should take everything from you because you're still mine! I own your little ass because I brought you back from the dead... I don't know I did. I was doing everyone a favor. Lyle especially because you know he finds the crown enjoyable but he gave it to you so he wouldn't feel so guilty... You're such a pig." He shook his head and walked away from me. I widened my eyes and watched him.

"I didn't want the crown though," I mumbled under my breath. "He could've kept it...."

"He would have kept his guilt too," he threw at me over my shoulder.

"Who are you talking about?" I heard Lyle ask as he walked up. "Do you hear the pack? Somethings really up with them tonight." I quickly looked towards him then frowned as what Sylar said hit me. He really did like the crown... and he refused to keep it....

"Y-yeah... it's an intruder more than likely," I mumbled and looked down at the ground. Why would he give it to me? I didn't deserve it. Not after being with the Resistance... the ones who caused so much pain and misery.... They had stolen him from his crib... and he knew that I was the leader of the resistance but he still handed me the crown....

"Do you think it's that dragon coming for Hesper?" He asked. "Rei did get Hesper back right? You know it was really quiet while I was sleeping. Come on and stop messing with Sylar, he might bite your head off." He grabbed my arm and started to tug me to a nearby weapon room. "We'll go hunting for any creepy crawlies." I looked up at him and frowned. That's right... it could be that dragon that took my baby... but I doubt it. It would've arrived already by now since the howls started....

"Hesper is safe in the other castle," I mumbled and then looked towards the weapons room. "Lyle... why did you give me the crown?"

"You know why," he laughed sweetly towards me. "I gave it to you because I wanted you to have it since you had fulfilled father's wishes. Remember? He wanted you to rule when you had proven yourself to be a great king."

"Yeah... but I'm not really," I mumbled. If father could see what I had done, he would be angry with me. He would've been outraged at me going to the resistance, and he would be disgusted that I was with Sylar before Colsin came along.... "I mean... I was the leader of the resistance! Father wouldn't have allowed me to become king after that...."

"Silas," Lyle whined. "You're a great king now and that's all that matters. Your past is in the past. The you now is who you've chosen to be and it's a great king." He walked up to the door and pulled it open before going inside and looking at the weapons. "You might not have done much in seventeen years but now that you're about to cut the resistance out from under their feet.... You'll prove to everyone you mean business." I followed him and gave a slight nod.

"I guess... but didn't you want it? You loved being king...."

"Being king?" He asked. "It was too much work and I really wanted to just be with Milo." He picked out a nice shot gun with some bullets. "That's the truth. I'm happy you've got the job and honestly I could care less if you fucked the whole system up. You're king now. Do as you please. Go murder a whole city but make sure to do it with some dignity." Murder a whole city? I laughed a little at the thought. Do I even have it in me to go kill a whole city? I have sixteen kids that wear me out....

"I'm happy that you've got more time with Milo like you wanted," I told him, cheering up then leaned in and gave his cheek a small kiss. "He only stays young and innocent for a little while and then he'll become less innocent as he gets older and learns more things and sees more things around him."

"One day we'll be doing more in bed besides jumping up and down on it. But for now we're both happy with just staring each other in the eyes lovingly. Not everything is about.... well what you've been doing for the past seventeen years with Rei. I know that whatever you do now as a king.... you'll make the right choices and whatever they are I'm going to stay by your side because I'm your brother." I purred and smiled at him happily. You know... maybe I shouldn't take what Sylar says to heart. He's angry at me, and I have a brother right here who will stay with me till the end even though Sylar won't. I tackled him into a hug and buried my face into him.

"Thank you Lyle~ I needed to hear that." I looked up into his eyes and gave him a huge smile. He kissed my cheek before leaving me to go outside, taking a window down like a badman. I grabbed a couple of weapons and went after him, following him. "Alright! Let's go hunt us an intruder~ If it's that dragon, I've got some words for him! He'll be bleeding out of his ears when I'm through!"

When we reached where the wolves were growling at, Laurence was standing by them with his arms crossed. Toru was in his fox form next to him. Lyle walked up to Laurence, giving him a raised eyebrow before looking at the wolves surrounding a tree with their heads bent to bark up it. He looked up and let out a small laugh.

"I think one of your kids is stuck up in a tree," Lyle snorted out. "Is this what all the ruckus is about?"

"That's not his kid," Laurence said softly. I frowned and looked up into the tree at my supposed "kid".

"Yeaaaah... I didn't give birth to that one," I told Lyle, eyeing the preteen boy in the tree. "Yeah, nope, unless I was unconscious for nine months and had a baby I didn't know about that Rei threw out... no, that didn't come from me."

"Maybe your two musician boys are twins," Lyle teased. "They're a year apart after all... You never know... Rei might have lied to you," he purred.

"I'm not his kid," I heard the boy tell us from in the tree. I smirked. Yeah, I knew that wasn't mine. It doesn't even look like me.

"LYLE, YOU NEED TO LEARN WHO EACH OF YOUR NIECES AND NEPHEWS ARE! You can't just walk around the castle and think every single kid you see came from me and Rei!" I teased him then looked at the kid in the tree. "What's your name sweetie?" I asked him with a purr, walking past the wolves. Poor kid, chased up a tree.... "Whatcha doing here?"

"Well when you have a brother whose got sixteen kids then another brother who had two.. You kinda just have to assume," I heard Lyle muttering.

"Well...." The kid said. "My name is Dylan... and I was wondering if you could help me find my mommy." His mommy? He lost his mommy?

"You poor child~ Guys, stop barking at him. He's probably scared! He's lost his mommy!" I looked at the wolves then looked up at him, setting my weapons aside then reached for him with a purr as my mother instincts started to kick in. "Come here~ I'll help you find your mommy." I heard everyone get quiet then.

"He smells like a human," I heard a wolf telling me. Dylan looked me over and shook his head.

"You promise they're not going to bite me?" Dylan asked.

"No! Of course not," I told him and gave him a sweet smile. "They won't hurt you at all. I promise. We'll find your mommy, and I'll take care of you until we do," I purred encouragingly.

"A wolf scratched my mommy clear across the face... I don't want that happening to me." He pulled his feet up onto the branch. "Tell them to go away." I frowned. A wolf scratch on a fa- Amelia! I gasped slightly. HE'S THE WITCH'S KID! Since when did she have children? I looked towards the wolves then.

"It's okay guys. I've got this," I told them, panicking slightly. Shiiiiit... I locked his mommy up. The wolves scattered then in groups.

"Hey, tell him to put this on..." Laurence tossed me a bracelet. I looked it over.

"What is it? A magic restrainer?" I asked him curiously then turned the bracelet over in my hand.

"It's just a pretty piece of jewelry that I want him to have," he said innocently. I heard Dylan slipping out of the tree then. I nodded and looked towards Dylan, handing it over.

"Here you go~ Put it on sweetie." I heard Toru yip then at Laurence, laying his ears back as he looked up at him longingly. Dylan slipped on the bracelet, aweing it down like it was the coolest thing he ever saw.

"Dylan has trouble with his... unique abilities so I thought he should have that. It'll keep him more connected to earth's gravitation." Laurence scooped up Toru and kissed the top of his head. "Sons of witches get unique powers but they never are able to control it unless they wear.... something like that bracelet." I nodded and relaxed, looking towards Dylan.

"Okay... thank you for helping him Laurence.... Dylan, is your mother by chance Amelia?"

"Yeah! Amelia is my mommy. She's the sweetest mother ever! She makes me peanut butter sandwiches and soup while I'm sick." I purred in amusement at that.

"Well, I know where your mommy is. Would you like me to take you to her? I can't really let her leave here yet though because of my brother is attached to her magically- being her familiar and all," I told him then reached for his hand.

"Mommy got a new familiar!? I wanna see him! I want to see him!" He ran for the castle then. "She's this way, isn't she?" I frowned and looked towards my hand he ditched then dropped it. Oh well.... I looked towards him with a slight purr. Well... he seems really happy about Sylar being her familiar.... Maybe I should just let Sylar stay her familiar. It might do him some good to have Dylan around... and be somewhere else. He could convince the witch to travel with him. She'll eventually die of old age and he'll be freed. He might be happier as a familiar.

"Yeah, you can meet her familiar~ His name is Sylar," I told him, following after him quickly then glanced back at Lyle. "I think we should just let them keep Sylar for a bit. She'll eventually die of old age and he'll be freed then." Lyle raised an eyebrow.

"So you're saying that when the time comes you end up a familiar I should do the same to you and let Sylar be there to laugh with me as we watch you follow a witch around as a crow or monkey or elephant or wolf.... or whatever they like to keep as pets?" I frowned.

"That's not at all what I meant. I meant that it might be better for him... being away from the castle and all after Colsin's death. He said to me that Colsin's death doesn't hurt him as much because he's a familiar, and he thinks that Amelia is blocking it from him... and then there is that fifty fifty percent chance that Amelia will die when we try to take him from her... and that'll leave little Dylan an orphan... and Sylar might die as well...." I stopped walking and frowned. "I see your point though.... We certainly can't let a witch turn him into a pet. He's our brother after all... and I don't want him gone. What do you think we should do?"

"I didn't know there was a fifty fifty.... I don't want to make Amelia's child an orphan..." Lyle's eyes lightened as he thought it over. "Sylar can stick through it for a few decades.... who knows.... the witch might get tired and release him because of how- twilightish he can be. She'll be releasing him next week." I laughed and nodded.

"That's true.... He wants to travel Lyle. He and Colsin had decided on it right before he died, and he wants to go do it still, so even if he is released, he'll be leaving us for awhile," I told him softly, reaching out for his hand.

"Hello! I thought you were taking me to see my mommy!" Dylan yelled. "I'm waiting!" I heard him making the door squeak then. Lyle laughed and took my hand before pulling me towards Dylan. The witches' boy who was maybe fourteen... He had really greasy hair that was pushed back by his fingers. It was a brown color while his eyes were a gorgeous blue. Actually the young Dylan was quite a looker underneath his mess of a hairstyle. I purred at him as we reached him and eyed his hair down. Maybe we could give him a really long bath....

"Come on then. She's downstairs," I told him, starting to lead them down to her cell. I opened the door to her cell as we reached it and stepped aside so he could run in first to her. He ran straight in and I heard her groan as he slapped his tiny body against her to hug her.

"Mommy! You missed story night over and over and over again so I asked around and they told me to come to this big castle to get help and so I did but it turned out you was here all along!" He told her. I looked in and I felt my heart melt at the sight.

"Awwwww~! I love kids," I purred happily, holding onto Lyle's hand tightly. "Where are mine?!"

"Upstairs and one is still at Kingsley's castle along with Hesper," Lyle told me. "You're down to fourteen kids here," he purred. "If Nico is still lingering around."

"Aw, I love you sweetie," I heard Amelia purring. "You're going to be such a brave young man in a few more years. I bet you told those wolves outside that you meant business and you were looking for me."

"I ran them up a tree," he told her. Wait... it was the other way around.... Should I say something? Naw... I'll let the kiddo have his moment with his proud mommy~

"I didn't know you had a kid Amelia," I purred from the doorway, holding onto Lyle. "You should've said something to me about him."

"It's none of your business, fang head." Amelia hissed at me.

"But he let me come see you! He's a really great guy and his friend gave me this bracelet," Dylan told her as he showed off his gift. I purred. She has a reason to be mad at me, but Dylan doesn't know that.

"Amelia, I've decided that I'm going to let you take Sylar with you. He needs to get out of the castle and get some fresh air... and he told me that he doesn't feel as much pain and loss over Colsin since he's become your familiar... and I don't want poor Dylan here to be without a mother," I told her softly. "Just don't run off with my brother, okay? I still want to hear from him every once in awhile."

"Or at least me," Lyle told her. "He's got issues with Silas and might refuse to talk to him but he should be fine with me."

"Well it's about time you've got some sense in you," Amelia snarled. "I've got better things to do besides sit around in a dirty cell. We've got a book store to run, don't we Dylan?"

"Uh-huh!" Dylan giggled out.

"Alright, we can feed the both of you upstairs in the dining room while Sylar packs, okay? We can get some ice cream or pudding for little Dylan," I purred, ignoring her sense comment. I pulled out my phone sending him a quick text.

Me: Hey, your witch needs you to start packing. You're going with her. You're going to love her kid!

I put my phone up then looked towards Dylan with a sweet purr. "Want ice cream or pudding? We could do both~" I wish Hesper was here.... I miss him....

"Do you have chocolate ice cream?" Dylan asked. "I only like chocolate."

"Of course we have chocolate! My sister really likes chocolate ice cream too," I purred to him then held out a hand for him. "Let's go get you a nice big bowl of it~ We could talk your mommy into eating some with you while she waits on her familiar," I told him then looked towards his mother with a sweet look. "Do you want some Amelia? We can get you both brownies too."

"I'm not much for sweets," she told me. "I think it would be wise for us to just go straight home." She grabbed her son's shoulder. "Sylar will find me when he's packed." I frowned but gave a slight nod. I did attack her after all. If I was captured and that was one of my sons... I would want to go straight home too.

"Alright, then I will give my best wishes for you and your son and hope you have a safe travel back home," I told her then stepped back from the door, leaving it open. I looked towards Lyle and purred. "Hey Lyle~ we should go get ice cream and brownies anyways while it's just the two of us."
