1 Nature's Wrath
In the year 2053 the human race had used up a lot of the Earth's resources and poverty was at a all time high, deaths were a common thing and wars broke out for the remaining resources. No one knows what happened or who launched the first nuke but there was a wide spread chain reaction and in just a few weeks the earth's population dropped to less than an eighth.
As a result the radiation mutated nature and some believe do to humans causing so much damage to earth that mother nature in her anger at humanity used that radiation to mutate animals and the rest of nature. The following hundred years were the worst for humanity, they were constantly hunted by what they call beasts and the lands itself were so harsh that by the year 2153 nature had taken back most of earth.
Humans had to band together and set aside differences to build settlements to protect themselves from natures wrath, but it was harder than they thought as soon after onslaught after onslaught of beasts of all shapes and sizes kept attacking their walls.
Soon five hundred years have passed and humanity was on its last legs, the estimation of humans left was at most 200,000 and most had lost hope of ever surviving. Then one day a miracle happened people started to develop strange abilities, these abilities were elemental control, body enhancing, beast transformation, and sometimes random powers.
Suddenly humanity had a small chance of survival people with powers trained themselves and over time grew strong and started making discoveries about the beasts as they were finally able to kill them. They through trial and error found out that beasts could be eaten and bones, claws, teeth and many other parts could be forged and used as materials for weapons and armors. Through eating beast meat power users could enhance their power, depending on the beast the more powerful they are the more you can enhance your power.
The more humans advanced the more they were able to discover like evantually almost everyone got there power at the age of 10. The ones that didnt were ridiculed and considered a waste to humanity and thus were treated poorly. Other things that were discovered is alot of powers were hereditary and you were likely to develop a variant of your parents power, and it was possible to gain extra powers through defeating a beast and absorbing its core that is set in its brain.
Evantually in the year 2867 humans had managed to bring their numbers back up to 500,000 and created the ranking system for beasts and humans. The ranking system had the lowest ranking of F and the highest ranking of SSS. Every rank increased your life span by twice the previous rank and by the rank of S were considered immortal.
Humans quickly had the system of might makes right and if you were weak no one cared about what would happen to you and could be killed and no one would bat an eyelash. By the year 3000 humans had finally started making new technology to signify there power rankings and everyone was given watches that would display rank and powers or abilities, the way it does that is by Crystal's they found that could measure your powers and abilities and how strong you are then the technology built around the crystal reads the results and displays it on a digital screen.
When children reach the age of 10 they are given a watch after a testing ceremony that is set up to test children's powers or abilities. The more power you had the more people wanted to get close to you and if you were not you were pushed aside and ridiculed by the rest of society.
