I sat beside my study table after she dozed off to sleep.

There were flowers on it.

Upon seeing those flowers, I reminisced what Simon told me about mother.

Mom was a lover of nature and animals so she erected a greenhouse by the backyard. But apparently, it was also the same place where our ancestors murdered each other.

I didn't know if there were some otherworldly intervention but after that greenhouse was built, Mom's pregnancy became ectopic. And when I was born, she passed away as if a sacrifice for the disturbance of the spirits. 

Father initially wanted to destroy that greenhouse but he changed his mind.

There was still that belief that another death would follow if that place was to be destroyed. What he did instead was lose its key on purpose and forbid anyone from going in.

But that curse…

I don't believe in it. 

I don't want to believe it.
