With Mr. Liu

"Mom, I need your help."

Receiving a call from her younger son wasn't normal to begin with. Now that it was those set of words, it's even more bizarre.

Given with the recent events, Madam Liu was actually caught off guard and couldn't think of any form of help her son would ask from her.

Unless, it's about her daughter in law. Did her son want to interrogate the woman pretending to be Han Meixiu and asked her for a truth serum?

Madam Liu didn't know that Liu Zilong already did what she was thinking.

Thus with a control breath she responded.

"What is it?"

"I'll tell you once you're here." Liu Zijian answered.

The two just finished their lunch and the young woman who was sitting across him was in the middle of waiting for his next instruction.

Madam Liu knew that Liu Zijian was staying in that same room that Han Meixiu stayed together with the unconscious Liu Zijian.

"Ok." She simply answered.

She's thankful that her son didn't ask her to interrogate the woman. But she's puzzled at the same time why they would meet in that room and not somewhere else more convenient.

Still, she arranged her things and went out of the building.

When she arrived and Liu Zijian escorted her inside, her face plastered an exaggerated shock.

"?!?!"

The young woman who was originally standing bowed her head as a form of greeting while maintaining a bashful smile.

"Meixiu dear?" Madam Liu carefully asked.

Knowing her son, he wouldn't allow anyone inside this room except for his wife. But wasn't she missing?

When did he find her?

Why does she look like she doesn't know her?

The young woman slowly nodded and said, "It's me Mommy Yi."

Earlier she asked Liu Zijian how to call her mother in law so she could address her properly.

"The real one." Madam Liu murmured.

When Han Meixiu heard her words, she got confused.

Both women looked at Liu Zijian. They required explanation.

After the explaining what happened, the entire room became quiet.

All of them entertained their respective thoughts.

It was Madam Liu who broke the deafening silence.

"Welcome back, Meixiu dear."

Dinner was served not later than 8 in the evening.

The Liu family was complete once again thus they enjoy a specially prepared dinner for this night.

After dinner, the family was gathered in the living room. It was just like old days. The only different was han Meixiu being extra cautious.

"There was no problem with Meixiu dear. The doctor advised to let the nature take its course." Madam Liu stated the result of their hospital visit earlier.

"Then we just show sister in law the places she's been to to trigger her memory?" Liu Zilong asked.

"Yes. But the doctor said it's not a guarantee." Madam Liu responded. Her voice was a bit down.

"For sure the doctor suggested an alternative." Mr. Liu said, giving the people around the table hope.

"He did. There's a special type of treatment. Reaching the subconscious mind. Recently a doctor specializing with this treatment visited Q City."

"Then why don't we contact the doctor? Is he still here?" Liu Zilong asked.

"She. Her name's Su Fei Lan." Madam Liu answered and looked at Liu Zijian dejectedly.

"What's the problem with this doctor, Little Zi?" Liu Zilong who caught his mother's action asked his brother.

"She's connected to Chen Dewei."

Han Meixiu who was clearly the topic of the conversation was feeling uncomfortable. She didn't think that the absence of her memories could be a problem to discuss.

"Do you want your memories back?" Mr. Liu asked the young woman who immediately perked up with the sudden question.

Liu Zijian realized that he's been thinking how his wife should regain her memories as soon as possible but he never asked if she wanted to.

There was a slight remorse on his face as he looked at the woman sitting beside him.

"Yes." She answered.

"Why? It could harm you again. Isn't it better to forget about them and just make new ones?"

Mr. Liu continued. He wanted to know the resolve of the young woman.

"Even though some might be bad that would eventually make me break down, those were still my memories. They're still part of me. Shouldn't I embrace all of them? Without those, I'm just like an incomplete puzzle."

Although she was indeed afraid of who she was before, she still wanted to know. Be it a good or a bad memory, they made her who she is - an imperfect human being.

All the other people around knew that their patriarch was already planning something. Thus they waited for his next statement.

"Come with me tomorrow." Mr. Liu said.

"Dad, where will you go?" Liu Zijian immediately asked.

"You want your wife to regain her memories asap, right? The leave it to me. Focus on the tasks I assigned to both of you." Mr. Liu answered and looked to both of his sons.

"Then, I can go with you." Madam Liu said. She also wanted to know where the two of them would go.

"You have something to do."

A simple statement from her husband, Madam Liu couldn't retaliate. Yes, there were pending tasks she needed to finish.

When everyone went back to their respective rooms, Han Meixiu couldn't stop herself anymore from asking.

"Zijian, is this the first time I'll be going with father in law?"

Upon hearing her Liu Zijian knitted his eyebrows looking displeased. She called that man 'Wei' but she called him with his name. Although he wanted her to call him that way earlier, he couldn't request it when his mother was present.

It wasn't because he's shy. It was because he wanted her to call him when it's only the two of them. It would sound more special.

"Jian."

Han Meixiu "..."

The young man looked at her and waited. He didn't plan to answer unless she would call him that way.

He placed his arms across his chest.

"Jian..."

"Hm.."

Han Meixiu never thought that her husband could be so childish. Earlier today, it was fine calling him Zijian and suddenly tonight he wanted to called Jian.

"Yes. Tomorrow's the first time." He finally answered.

"I see." Han Meixiu felt excited and nervous at the same time. She didn't want to displeased her father in law.

When she was with Madam Liu, it was comfortable as the older woman was naturally talkative. But Mr. Liu was clearly not the same.

Although she couldn't sense any animosity from him, there was still a distance between the two of them.

It might be her feeling alone but she still didn't want to be overconfident and treat him the way she treated Madam Liu.
