69 69- The Liberation of Eliza

Mazurka pulled out his phone and immediately called Harlowe.

"What is it Mazurka? I haven't even made it out of the parking lot yet," he grumbled his complaint.

"Good because you're going to want to come back in and call the chief. We've found Eliza Warren-Bishop, and she's alive."

"What?!" Harlowe shouted. "How? Where? Never mind! You can tell me once I'm back inside."

Mazurka hung up the phone and watched as Skye turned the monitor back to her own computer, which was already connected to Ogilvy's, and running through it.

"This is going to take time Yechi. But I will let you know as soon as I have the location," Skye said as she began to furiously type and click around the screen, checking on several programs she already had running.

"Kavak, come with me," Mazurka said as he left the lab and headed to the main squad room.

Heading to the far corner, he pulled a whiteboard forward and stuck Eliza's picture up in the center of it using a magnet as Harlowe came in through the door.

"Now tell me what happened!"

"We have a live video feed that's connected to Ogilvy's desktop. Skye is working to trace the location of the camera now. From the live feed it looks as if she's being held captive in an underground shelter or basement. There were no windows or doors that we could see, and nothing to indicate that she has any source of food," Mazurka explained as he began to write several things onto the board.

"Assuming Ogilvy has been doing this alone, then she hasn't had any food since Saturday night, but it does look as if she has access to water," Kavak added as Harlowe pulled out his phone.

"Keep working on finding out where she is. I'll call the chief. Start setting up for a search and rescue. I want full gear on everyone. We have no idea if he's been keeping her by himself or if he's had help," Harlowe remarked before setting his phone to his ear and walking away.

Taking Kavak with him, he opened up the lockers in the side room, and brought out the crates of radios and earpieces.

"Alright, listen up!" Harlowe shouted as he moved back into the squad room. "I want all hands-on deck! Gather your gear and get prepared. We're going to be heading out on a search and rescue. But first, give Mazurka your full attention."

"Thanks," Mazurka said with a nod towards Harlowe and stepped to the side of the white board. "This woman's name is Eliza Warren-Bishop. She went missing just over two years ago and we now have information that she is alive and is being held captive by Kenneth Ogilvy, AKA, Three. For those of you unfamiliar with the case, Ogilvy was one of the five victims from last Saturday's murder in Rosemont Downs. We executed an SS warrant earlier today on his property and believe that there was a hidden cellar somewhere that was missed. We have a live camera feed currently on the location where this victim is being held, and Skye is attempting to pin down the location. As soon as we have it, I need everyone ready to move."

"We don't know what her current status is aside from alive. She may be disoriented, confused, and afraid. We have no idea what has been done to her or how she has been treated, so once we make entry into the location, do not shine lights directly at her, and holster your weapons. There may also be more than this one victim at the residence, so, please be aware that we are going into the situation with very little information," Kavak added as Harlowe stepped forward.

"Summers, Franks, Rosenbaum, and Trickle, suit up, you're our entry team."

While Harlowe issued out the orders, Mazurka made his way into the office, Kavak following close behind, and picked up the phone. "Vests are in the last locker," he said as he handed Kavak his keys and dialed a number.

"Dispatch 5, what's the nature of your emergency?"

"This is Detective Yechiel Mazurka of precinct 6, Freetier Park. I have need of an EMT to be on standby for search and rescue. Victim is believed to be a 21, Female, and still alive, but her condition otherwise is unknown."

"Approximate location?"

"We're working on it. Will broadcast channel 8, as soon as we have a verified location."

"Understood, will have EMT on standby, channel 8."

"Thanks."

"Not a problem, Freetier 6, over," the dispatcher replied before disconnecting the call.

"EMT's are on standby, and will meet us at the location," Mazurka relayed to Harlowe as he entered into the office and took a vest from Kavak.

"I need you to check in with Skye, find out what's taking so long or how much longer it's going to be. What channel are we on?"

"8," Mazurka replied as he put on a vest and stepped out into the squad room and headed back to the whiteboard where he wrote channel 8, just above where the radios and earpieces were set out. "Channel 8 everyone," he also verbally relayed to the room as picked up a radio and earpiece for himself. "Sound off once you're patched in."

Equipping the radio and earpiece, he adjusted the channel and headed towards Sky's lab as the other officer's began to sound off.

"What's the ETA on that location Skye?"

"I've almost got it. It was being routed through a VPN out of Swethanland, but I've hacked through their system. Just be a bit more patient. This isn't like tracking a cellphone ping. You can watch the progress on the monitor."

Mazurka watched the monitor closely as a blue line rebounded across several countries until returning back to Turnage City, where a dot erupted and began to pulse on a basic map of the city.

"There, that's where the camera is," she remarked as she ran a secondary program, and overlaid the map ping onto a specialized city street map. "Okay, I got it! 1705 Constance Lane, Rosemont Downs."

"1705 Constance Lane, Rosemount Downs," Mazurka relayed over the radio. "We're on channel 8 Skye. I need you to find out everything you can about that location and relay it to the entire squad as soon as you can. And thank you."

"No problem Yechi. Go rescue that girl," she said as she picked up the radio from her desk and turned it to the correct channel.

"Freetier 6, this is dispatch 5; 1705 Constance Lane, Rosemont Downs, confirm?"

"Confirmed," Mazurka replied.

"EMT's will meet you at the location."

"Be advised, do not make entry. Situation unknown," Mazurka told the Dispatcher.

"Be advised EMT 9, wait for officers on the scene. Do not make entry."

"Understood Dispatch 5. See you there, Freetier 6. Over."

"Advisement relayed. EMT is on the way. Good Luck Freetier 6. Over."

With the conversation with dispatch 5 finished, Mazurka turned his attention to Skye and motioned to the monitor. "Keep an eye on her, Skye. If anything changes let me know."

"Got it," she replied and went back to her computer as Mazurka returned to the squad room where Harlowe was addressing the officers.

"Mazurka, Kavak, and I are going to be in the lead car. I want flashers and screamers the entire way. We'll contact the Down's Chief once we are enroute."

"The residence is registered to Akbar and Janet Ogilvy. I pulled their registration cards, and they are both in their late 70s, but are no longer living at that address. It was listed as a rental three years ago, but is currently listed as vacant, not livable, due to a fire two years ago, which caused the last known tenant to vacate. Kenneth Ogilvy is listed as the contact for property management and has pulled three building permits over the last two years, but has only had two of them pulled since," Skye relayed over the radio as everyone moved from the squad room to their vehicles.

Mazurka and Kavak rode with Harlowe, sirens blaring behind them as they raced through the streets towards their destination. As Harlowe drove, he contacted the Rosemont Downs Chief of Police and informed him of the situation. In response he offered his cooperation and dispatched further backup to the scene.

When they arrived, the house was dark and boarded up. Flashlights and guns were drawn as the officers moved from their cars and surrounded the house, looking for a way to make entry.

"We have a cellar door at the back," Mazurka relayed over the radio. "It's chained and padlocked."

"Entry team bring the bolt cutters!" Harlowe ordered.

"Mazurka, the woman's moving," Skye informed them. "She doesn't look stable on her feet and is moving towards the only wall we don't have a camera angle on."

"Mazurka! Over here!" Kavak called out from the side of the house where he was knelt down, attempting to pry a board from what appeared to be a basement window. "Get me a bar!"

Stopping one of the entry team, Mazurka took a prybar from him, and brought it over to Kavak. Together they broke the board away and pulled the thick layer of insolation from the covered window. Using the back of the crowbar, Mazurka smashed out the glass and cleared it from the windowpane before leaning down and pounding at the back of another plywood board.

"Eliza Warren-Bishop, can you hear me?" he shouted at the back of the board.

"Help me!" He heard a woman's voice faintly call out from the other side.

"Skye, where is she now?" Mazurka asked over the radio.

"She's standing on the bed and looking up towards the top of the wall."

"Listen carefully, we are going to get you out. I need you to lay down on the bed and stay covered up until we get the doors open! The Police are going to make entry shortly!"

"Okay!" they heard her call back.

Mazurka and Kavak moved back to the cellar door just as the entry team moved the chain away. Using their specialized tools, they tore open the doors and Harlowe, Mazurka, Kavak, and two other officers, followed the entry team down the cellar stairs.

At the bottom the found another bolted, solid, wooden door.

"Ram," Summers called back and Franks brought the heavy device forward.

Together they smashed it against the edge of the door until the door jamb gave way and the door flew open. Hands on shoulders, they filtered into the room, step by step behind the heavily geared Summers and Franks.

"Clear!"

"Clear!"

"Clear!" The officers sounded off as they moved further into the room checking behind the door and looking in every corner.

"All clear!" Harlowe called out as he took a final look around.

"Eliza Warren-Bishop?" Mazurka asked as a woman slowly poked her head out from under the blanket on the bed, tears streaming down her face as she slowly nodded.

"Get the medics!" Harlowe shouted as everyone holstered their guns and cleared the way.

Moving to the side of the bed, Mazurka knelt down beside the sobbing Eliza. "I'm Detective Yechiel Mazurka, the medical team is on their way down. They're going to make sure that you're okay and then they are going to take you out of here and to a hospital."

"Is it over?" she said, her voice soft and raspy.

"Yeah, it's over. The man who kept you here, he's dead. He can't hurt you anymore."

"It's over," Eliza burst into tears and clutched the blanket tighter. "It's over. It's over," she repeated as she curled over and continued to cry.

"We got her," an EMT said as she tapped Mazurka on the shoulder.

"I'll ride with her to the hospital," Mazurka told her as he moved out of the way.

"We'll be taking her to DKL General."

Mazurka nodded and radioed Skye as he moved towards the exit of the cellar. "Call her parents Skye. Have them met us at DKL General."

"I'm on it. Well done everyone," Skye said as a small cheer could be heard outside.
