3 A boring life deserves something to relieve stress. But if it is risky then…please don’t do it.

“Gil, you're going to have a younger sibling.”

That is a sentence in which I have to respond with a cool smile…if I were still who I was yesterday, I would be excited about whether it's going to be a little sister or a brother. But after knowing who is going to be born, it makes me unable to smile…

I gaze at Duchess Bedivere, who has golden hair and eyes. My mother is very beautiful, so my younger sibling may also look really beautiful, just like our mother. A typical cute boy who is loved by everyone. As for me…I turn my head to my father, who is heavily built with black hair and eyes and a handsome face…I think, in the future, I will look handsome like my father!

“Do you think your younger sibling will be a girl or a boy?”

“A boy.” I smile…100% accurate, even more precise than all those famous fortune-tellers.

My mother grins, but my father pouts and mumbles, “…I prefer a daughter…”

Trust me, a living thing called a daughter is not as adorable as you may think…of course, a living thing called a younger sister is not that adorable either.

I really do have extensive experience with my younger sister…damn it, and I thought I wouldn’t miss her. Therefore, let’s skip the part about younger siblings for the time being.

Today’s dinner is filled with warmth as usual, but the table is not quiet as conversations about my unborn sibling are constantly being brought up. Every time my father and mother asked me, I just politely smiled before answering them shortly until dinner finally ended.

I lay down on my bed…sometimes, I think the life of a six-year-old boy can also be very boring. Should I find something to pass the time?

Read books and study hard like Nigel?

Sorry…I'm afraid my sleep hours will become even longer.

Weapons training as protection against Hareve's feet?

I'm sure that even if I had an Excalibur in my hand if my opponent was Hareve…I would surrender.

Yeah…that's my life.

So boring.

-----------

“Why do I have to come with you?”

“Because Nigel is busy…besides, I want to become closer to you.”

“Hmph…”

There is no need to make that kind of noise, you popular guy! If I could choose between a cute person like Nigel and a brutal person like you, I would definitely choose Nigel! But what can I do when Nigel chooses books over me…

“Do you normally do nothing?” Hareve looks at me with a harsh gaze. Although he has white hair and beautiful rainbow eyes along with a cold appearance, in reality, he is a ruthless person. Well…even Nigel, who is an ice-cold person in the anime, still turned out to be a cute little boy.

Childhood is such a scary thing.

“I have so…much free time like,…a lotttttt of free time.” I drag out my words and look at him. “So what do you normally do?”

“Weapons training, magic training, and study.”

Weapons…you don’t even need this training. Your feet alone can defeat everything, Hareve…

“For me I…hm…eat, sleep, eat, sleep…”

Hareve raises an eyebrow in surprise. “Duke Bedivere doesn’t force you or anything? You are the eldest child who will inherit the ducal title from him.”

I think about my stern father. Force, huh? “I don’t think so…”

At most, he would just give me a look of despair after alternating his gaze between Nigel and me.

Hmmmmm.

According to the plot lines, Cass Bedivere was being ignored by his own family due to his lack of ability. An older brother like me also didn’t show any ability, close to being incompetent even, but my father and mother haven’t shown any signs of ignoring me.

“What about you? Were you being forced by Duke Lancelot?”

“That’s unnecessary.” Hareve firmly replies. “It is a duty that the eldest child should be aware of.”

Wait…is he rebuking me?

Whatever. If it is Hareve, I will just give in. Before Hareve and I can continue our conversation, a cart we’re transporting comes to a stop, meaning that we’ve arrived at our destination. I open the curtain and grin widely when I see a clothing store. I turned my head towards Hareve, who raised an eyebrow in confusion. He wasn’t prepared when I pulled him into the store.

The inside of the store is quite vacant as there aren’t many people compared to how large this place is. It’s not because people don’t want to buy their products, but this store sells the most expensive items. Thus, the buyers need to be extremely wealthy!

I smile contentedly while looking at a dazzling array of clothes before dragging a slightly puzzled Hareve with me. I bet a rich kid like him has never bought clothes by himself! This is the day I will make him cosplay[1]!

Among Hareve’s bewilderment, I pick up the clothes that caught my eyes as we walk. Apart from knowing about weapons, magics, and general knowledge, it seems like this person still doesn’t know that he is stepping into a trap—which is a good thing! Please don’t make a fuss before I can put you into a cosplay!

In fact, I also want to make him wear a skirt. His adorable appearance and long hair would match very well! But as I reconsider that idea…I would actually be dead before I could even cosplay him. Therefore, a mild cosplay will do.

I push him into a fitting room. Hareve is still perplexed until I begin to unbutton his shirt. That’s when his face starts to show a sign of panic before backing away till his back touches the mirror. “What the heck are you doing!”

“Dressing you?” I smile as I try to unbutton his shirt. “Before we go to the market, don’t you think we should go under a disguise?”

I lied…I just want to see you cosplay.

“Disguise?” Hareve furrows his brows. “Why?”

“Hareve…” I pretend to be shocked. “Are you telling me we should walk around wearing clothes that say 'I’m a child of a noble', and not expecting someone to kidnap us for ransom?!”

“Both of us already have bodyguards around. If they can’t even protect two kids, then they deserve to be fired.” Hareve still furrows his brows…what a good reason. Damn it!

“Hareve, I think we should be cautious with everything before anything awful could have happened.” I give him an anxious smile. “It’s true that we both have our own bodyguards, but a market or a communal place is very crowded. Also, we can never know the future…wouldn’t it be better to protect ourselves beforehand? At least, you can minimize the possibility of it happening.”

Hareve has a troubled expression…I know I made a reasonable point!

Although I have a body of a kid, my brain is that of an adult!

There’s still a long way to go if you want to beat me in an argument!

In the end, I decide to walk out and let the popular guy dress himself up. I search for clothes for myself before changing into a plain-looking outfit. Even though Gilbert Bedivere may not be as good-looking as Nigel or Hareve, he is still very eye-catching.

I tie my shoulder-length golden hair and smile a little. A dimple appears at the corner of my mouth.

Woah, I’m so cute.

I narrow my eyes… Gilbert Bedivere does match really well with the image I have for an ideal younger brother…

“What the hell is this outfit!!”

It seems like Hareve is done with the changing…damn it! He isn’t wearing the outfit I chose for him!

He walked out with just a pair of trousers. Hey, little bro! Even though your body hasn’t matured yet, can't you see that some girls are looking at you right now! Your face is too much!

I smile before covering him with a shirt since I’m worried that he might be grabbed by anyone. “What’s the problem with the outfit?”

“A problem?” The corner of Hareve’s mouth twitches. “A problem? Yes! There is a problem! A serious problem too!! A pair of shorts with a teddy bear hat… what kind of outfit is this!!”

I grin. “An outfit for kids.”

I can guarantee it will turn out very cute that no one will think it’s you!

Hareve’s face flush, then he clenches his teeth. “I’m-not-a-kid!”

Six years old…if you’re a grown-up, then what about Duke Lancelot, your father? An elderly?

Sometimes I just want kids to accept the fact that they are kids. I don’t understand why they are impatient to grow up. There’s nothing fun being a grown-up. Plus, you will be nagged more than before. Even when I used to become an adult once, I still want to remain a kid forever.

But to avoid him kicking me, I can only smile sheepishly before bringing the teddy bear hat and the shorts to…the cashier.

I wonder if Nigel would wear them…

-----------

The clothes worn by commoners and nobles are very different, as much as their social status.

Hence, the luxury clothes Hareve and I are wearing make us become the center of attention.

Hareve looks embarrassed. He drew a lot of attention because of his white hair, beautiful eyes, and extremely good looks. Eventually, turning me into a background, and I’m not complaining because I like it. Don’t mind me – let him attract all the attentions and feel embarrassed alone!

I pick up and take a look at the items that seem interesting as we walk, such as strange necklaces and sculptures, or anything that grabbed my attention…but I didn’t buy any of them. I apologize for giving false hope to many sellers.

As for Hareve, he is currently hiding his embarrassment behind a grumpy expression. He is also radiating…well, what should I call it? A dark aura? Let’s just say nobody dares to look him in the eye.

While Hareve and I are walking side by side, Hareve seems to become more interested in his surroundings as I start to get bored. It turned out that in the evening, he was the one who dragged me into different stores while our followers began to carry more and more stuff which…didn’t seem to be very useful.

Sometimes he also has a childlike side. Thus, I will just let him be.

Until night falls…

“I can’t walk anymore. Can I wait for you in the cart?” I smile weakly at the person who has too much energy to burn, he is now holding an irritated expression on his face while pursing his lips. Mister…do not compare your feet that can kick down an entire door at the age of six with my delicate feet!

“Alright. Just give me…” Hareve glances down at his pocket watch. “…one hour.”

My mouth twitches…God! Where is the person who was reluctant before!!

“Half an hour then.” Hareve reduces the time. Without allowing me to protest, he jumps down from the cart and begins his hunt in the dark. I mean…buying stuff at the night market.

I sigh as I gaze at his back. I really can’t imagine what makes him choose the SM path in the future, and eventually becomes an owner of the famous SM route along with having immense popularity. I also can’t imagine how a cute little boy like Nigel could grow up to become a cold guy who ranked second in terms of popularity.

I yawn before lying down while I’m waiting for Hareve. Right now, I don’t feel like doing anything at all as my legs are throbbing with pain. I’m not sure if there will be any muscle relaxants in this world. Wait, is there magic that helps to lessen the exhaustion in this world?

I think I hear something like people talking softly. Annoyed, I mumble back in response. The noises around me seem to grow louder, so I try to search for a blanket or something else to cover my head…much better. There is no sound anymore.

But peacefulness is temporary. Once I get myself together, I feel like I am being lifted up, forcing me to lazily open my eyes. Then I see Hareve, whose eyes are wide open in surprise. Hmm…he really has such beautiful eyes.

While my brain is still not fully functioning, I can feel a heavy breath around my ear along with something cold pointing at my neck…

“Stop! Or else this kid…die!”

Hm.......................
