1 How It All started

Elizabeth Marie 'Liz' Paix P.O.V.

Graduation day is near as I lose time in coming up for a plan to confess to someone, more like two someone, but well who cares. Still, the fear of being humiliated is eating me from the inside.

I give myself a pep talk, trying to calm myself down, as I walk down the school's hallway passing CHEM 2 class, where I stopped quite abruptly. The reason is because I heard people gossiping. Confession time, I am no gossip monger like most girls are, but think, what will you do when someone mentions your name multiple times? I dare you not to eavesdrop.

"I can't wait until graduation. I really don't want to see that stupid face of Liz Paix ever again," someone, a girl, said. From the voices I could recognize the one who gossips are those suck-up plastics, Jessica 'Jess' Nelson and Sophie 'Saffi' Chavez.

Bunch of hypocrites if I say so myself, since all they do is talk badly about the teachers behind their back(also known as gossiping) yet they praise the teachers like they are gods. What's worse is that most, if not all, of the teachers get sucked into their so-called charming personality.

" Duh. She is a total freak. Good thing that no one want to be her friends. Rumor has it that she is actually a poly," Saffi said. 'How in the seven heavens does the rumor mills get that,' I thought.

Yes, another confession time. I am actually a polyamorous, means that I like multiple people at a time. My family knows this and they accepted it whole-heartedly, well except my dad. But well, most dad will be overprotective of their daughters, right? Time to go back.

"Wait, a poly?! That's worse than being, like, I don't know, asexual. Wait, who do you think are the guys she likes?"

"Rumor has it that she actually like both Lucas Hall, the musical genius and Josh Hill, the richest kid in school."

"I got to admit, she has great taste in term of choosing boys, but seriously, Those two? She's not even worth to date the Leo, you know, one of John's friends."

"I know right, but speaking about Lucas and Josh, I heard that Lucas is entering med school while Josh is studying to be a commercial airplane pilot"

"What?! Can you imagine the life of whoever they married with? They'll be totally spoiled for life."

"I know right. To be honest, I prefer Josh in terms of looks, but I'm okay with Lucas, since doctors usually have a really huge salary, enough to support the lavish lifestyle one can ever dream off,"

I don't listen to the rest of the conversation. I ran all the way to the school's library, my only sanctuary, while blocking those words out of my head.

When I arrived, the one and only thing in my head is

'Time to hasten the plan'

------------- time skip ------------

It's been three weeks since graduation and a month since I heard that stupid gossip. I am now in the airport, ready to go reach the one and only dream I have my whole life, and enact the plan.

The plan is basically my long-term plan, 10 years ahead. The first step is for me to enter a university abroad, away from toxic environment. Then, work hard and smart while getting a part-time job with big enough salary to make myself financially independent, in terms of daily costs. Lastly, as soon as I graduate, apply for another degree, using my own money, without parental financial support whatsoever. It will be better if I gain a scholarship or two along the way, so that the amount of money taken from my saving will not be too much. I honestly supposed to do this plan around two months after graduation, however, because of the rumors, I hasten it.

Thus, I found myself, with a luggage cart for my baggage, with my parents and my litter sister. I'm eternally grateful that none of my family members are drama queen, unlike most of my cousins and aunts and uncles. This means, there will be no over-dramatic tears that will probably cause quite an embarrassing scene. My parents help me double check everything that I brought, making sure that I will not forget to bring anything, especially my documents and passports, since sending packages overseas are quite expensive and I do not want to be a bigger burden to them. While my sister, well she's busy playing my father's phone since she does not have her own.

Once done, I hug my parents and sister, saying goodbye and enters the gate, knowing that I will not be back for a very, very long time.

------------ 2 months later ------------

Normal P.O.V.

Two months has past for one Elizabeth Marie Paix. In that span of two months, she is able to adapt with the culture difference and able to speak the local language so fluently that she is already considered as a local by most people who met her for the first time. She lived in the campus dorm just like all first years and international students does and she need to share her room with three other first-year students, which she had no problem with since she is used to sharing rooms with her sister. One thing that she is grateful is that all of her roommates are local first-year students, which means she can actually converse in the local language more, basically means more practice.

In terms of academics, she is able to catch up with fast-paced curriculum that the university does and able to manage it so great that she is also able to slip in a part-time job in a local English-teaching private institute as a substitute teacher with big enough salary that she can already afford an iPad Pro with all the accessories, in just a couple of months.

All in all, Lady Luck and Lady Fate have finally smiled upon her life, not using her as a toy to play with.
