1 Chapter 1: Meeting you

Cassy's P.O.V.

Everyone has a place where they just let go, mine is on the bridge. It's that one place my soul can dance, my thoughts can run wild, where my heart can beat freely, where I can breath without worrying. Have you ever thought that maybe one we'll understand how it feels to know your time is limited. Every breath counts and that you might not see tomorrow, well three weeks ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I've had it for the past year and I only have one year to live. So I made a bucket list. "Please don't jump." I hear a voice behind me say.

"I am not planning on it. Why would you care anyways?" I ask turning to him.

"I just don't want to see somebody die." He says walking closer.

"I am not crazy." I say turning around watching the water below me.

"So what's your name?"

"Aren't you suppose to walk away?"

"After I get your name."

"Cassandra."

"It's nice to meet you Cass. I am Jake."

"Yeah, so are you going to leave?"

"Yeah. I'll see you?"

"I am not so sure about that." I mumble as he walks away.

I probably sat there for another hour before going back to my dorm. My mom died giving birth to me and my dad died in a fire. I was an orphan since the age of three. Since then the Harding family raised me. They weren't bad and I appreciate everything they did for me. They also decided that I can go anywhere I wanted and do what I want. Kyle was, my gay, best friend. Nelly is my roommate and she choose our room design and we have a clear understanding we just stay together. It's was fair to say that the day I die, I won't hurt more then 5 people. After taking a long relaxing shower, I fall to the bed. Sometimes there's good days and sometimes there's bad days. My bad days are the days I'm tired. My cancer was slowly killing me, yet I didn't show much symptoms. Kyle was the only one who knew. That's why I'm doing my bucket list when this semester ends. I was sleeping about seven hours when my vibrating phone woke me up.

Kyle: Hey cutie. I'm at the bar, wanna join?

Me: Why are you at the bar? Gosh I just shower… see you in a few.

Kyle: Don't wear that hippy outfit of this morning. There's a hot guy looking for you.

Me: Fine see you in an hour.

After replaying I put my phone on the bed. Putting on my new outfit. After forty-five minutes I'm done dressing. Most girls would kill for a brand new car, but not me. I love old cars. After thirteen minutes I arrive at the bar. It not that hard to find Kyle. He is sitting with three guys. They are all probably gay. I quickly scan their faces and my eyes lands on the one sitting next to Kyle. He has dark black hair, dark blue eyes, a sexy smile and a tanned skin. I recognize him from earlier today. I f he is not gay I would love to spend time with him.

"Jeez Kyle it's 11 pm! Why did you wake me up, don't you have company?" I say loudly knowing I'm making a scene.

"Yell at this guy." he says pointing to the guy next to him.

"Why would I do that?"

"He wouldn't stop asking about you. He said you met this morning."

"We met. How would he know we're friends?"

"I know everything. Now come on, I didn't beg your friend for nothing." he says getting out of the booth.

"Kyle if I die tonight I'll kill you!" I say while following Jake.

"So why I am I here?" I ask him.

"I thought I'll take you for milkshakes." he says and open the door for me.

"No! I don't even know you." I say stop and taking a step back.

"I am a doctor. I protect save people." he says and gives me one of those perfect smiles.

"Why do you want take me out?" I ask as he walks out the door. At first I hesitate, but decide to follow him.

"Nelly is your roommate, right?" he ask while slowly start walking down the road.

"Yeah."

"I am long lost family of her."

"What does it have to do with you wanting to take me on a date?"

"Nothing, I just thought it might be a great idea for us to get to now each other."

"Why?"

"Nelly asked if you two can stay with me."

"Fine one milkshake."

"Are you okay if we take my bike?" he ask as he stops next to the motorcycle. I look down and I feel a smile on my face.

"Sure, I used a uber to get here. Will you take me back to my dorm?" I say getting onto the motorcycle. He gets on. The roar of the motorcycle gives me goosebumps. I warped my arms around his muscular body. I thought he would drive slow, but instead he goes 60 m/h. We finally fine arrived after five minutes. It was and old restaurant. It looked cute. Jake escorted me to the first open booth. A girl about 23 stops next to our table, taking out a little note book.

"Welcome to Outcasts. My name is Tatum, I'll be your waitress." she says staring at Jake.

"I'll have a large chocolate milkshake." he says.

"I'll have a large strawberry milkshake please."

She writes it down and walks away.

"So why were you sitting on the bridge today?"

"I have cancer. I go there to clear my head."

"Does Nelly know?" He asks while Tatum places our milkshakes on the table. She doesn't even say anything just walks away.

"No. I am leaving when the semester ends." I say and take a big sip of my milkshake.

"Why?" he looked shocked.

"To do my bucket list."

"So what are you doing the next three weeks?" he asks downing half of his milkshake.

"I have surgery tomorrow and then I need to stay home and recover."

"What surgery?"

"I have breast cancer and it spread."

"If you ever need someone to talk to I'm here for you." he says drinking down the last of his milkshake.
