11 Chapter 11: The Theme is Impromptu

“Yes hello, this is Laurel Dominguez, vicepresidenta of Paper Weight International. I need to speak with Tony Williams please.” Laurel walks around her apartment, breaking in her new pink heels from Revolve.

“Please hold,” Devon, the receptionist of Exquisite Essentials HQ says.

“Wait!” Laurel says.

“Yes, ma’am?”

“This is urgent. Very urgent, it is about the wedding. I desperately need to speak with him.” Laurel partially lies.

“Yes ma’am, I understand but, Mr. Williams is holding a meeting with our sales department right now,” Devon says. “He will be extremely unhappy with me if I interrupt him.”

“If he is unhappy with you, I will be unhappy with him. He does not want that. I assure you, you will be fine, and this will only take a few minutes. Go ahead and transfer me over, please. Thanks, Devon!”

Devon chuckles on the other line. “Yes ma’am, one moment please.”

The corny elevator music plays on the line as Laurel is transferred over. She looks down and admires her heels.
