1 Hail Death

In the beginning, the Gods created humans in their image. Blessings from the Gods magic were given unto man in the form of runes. Giving them mythical powers, given in the form of arcane circles.

Over the centuries the Gods grew bored of their creations and left the land of men returning to their realm.

Abandon, the humans soon learned to live without the Gods. Until Mera, the Goddess of life was murdered and war broke out within the realms of the Gods.

But now with the Goddess of life gone the balance of life and death has been broken. Now in the world of humans, they can not die but they also can not give life.

War has plagued the land of Renaveria for decades. They use the gifts the Gods have given them for their gain, ruling those they believe are beneath them.

Greed and corruption run deep in its veins causing the most innocent child to be deemed black-hearted.

Nobles throw feast while the poor beg for food, starving in the cold streets. This is Haven, the greatest city in Renaveria.

But passing through the battlefield of Haven Rock, Death sees a withering soul still encased in their vessel. Through all its suffering it's pure like a diamond in the dirt.

Lady Death speaks her cold yet soothing words, "Edward Ironhart, death seeks you in the land of the living. Hear my call and rise. Your soul, so dirty and drench but honorable and unyielding."

The rain pours from the heavens, droplets rolls of the cold skin of the fallen soldier.

"Wake up...Wake up and aid your Goddess."

His pale cold face turns flushed and life returns to his body and like a newborn infant, he takes his first breath yet again. Crying and screaming in agony he twists and turns in never-ending pain.

"No no… WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!" Screaming at the pale woman in dark rags. "My family, I was finally able to see my wife and child! Now I'm back in this hell!" He screeches.

She reaches down with her cold hands that are white as snow. Palming his cheeks. With a slight touch from her icy fingertips, his vision fades to darkness.

"I too feel your torment," Death kneels next to the poor soul. Surrounded by fallen soldiers she props his head onto her lap. "Forgive me. Edward, you're much too kindhearted for this world yet, unfortunately, I need your help."

A tear finds its way with the falling raindrops the Goddess of Death weeps as she lightly brushes the hair of the sleeping soldier. "So this is a human. They're adorable as you told me of, dear sister."

She pauses seeing her surroundings. The lingering odor of the dead is still fresh as the ravens pick at the corpses. Muddled in the downfall the caws of the ravens get louder.

"To what right that you presume you may spy upon me. I am the Goddess of Death your bloodlust cannot escape me, Chaos," Death speaks strongly with malice as crows fall from the sky like dead flies.

"B-bloodlust? I-I was birth on a field very similar to this, milady," he says.

The Embodiment of chaos born from the hatred within war and he seeks only one thing, destruction. His body resembles a shadow yet it is solid to the touch. He slides across the ground like a snake through the muddy field stopping before the Goddess Death.

"I felt a powerful presence, to think an Inner God would set foot within the human realm once again. The prophetess speaks the truth. The Gods walk among us again. Though I am no match for you but when you are at your weakest your blood will be mine… My dear goddess." He says retreating into a distant shade disappearing into the valent darkness.
