5 Church of Haven, The Sun and The Daffodil

within the city of Haven stands the capital church of Mera the Goddess of Life within the church gardens holds a stone statue of their goddess beauty. Between her cupped palms, there is the Sun granting life to those below it.

William strolls through the garden whilst he takes in the fresh air. The hummingbirds chirp going by each daffodil. He kneels and takes in the smell of the lovely flowers.

"I wonder if that bakery girl will forgive me if I give her a gift as lovely as this flower," He speaks out loud for only himself to hear.

While he was distracted by his thoughts he sensed a presence approaching over his shoulder. He glances as he notices two figures heading in his direction. The first was a tall older man, Bishop Mathew who is in a position directly below the pope. His white robe and red stash made it easy for William to know exactly who he was.

The other figure was someone he yet to meet. But she resembles the Prophetess that he has been hearing about lately. She wears a plain white robe that reveals her soft curvy nature.

However, while staring he spots something interesting, her silver eyes, only to distract him from her luscious red lips.

William turns to properly greet his superior's bowing in their presence.

"Silver eyes? That's rare isn't it?" he thinks to himself.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" The bishop says but William still had his eyes on the silent woman behind him.

"It's the flower of our beloved Goddess, Mera. Besides magic, the daffodil is the true gift to the children of Mera."

"The flower of new beginnings, for all those under her care shall be born under the New Sun. I study the teachings of our beloved, Your Eminence."

"Foolish me, of course, you do. You are the youngest to reach the rank of a paladin. You're the people's champion, no? When you are not making a fool of yourself, that is."

He looks disappointed before he continues. "Sir Fuast, would you happen to know that the daffodil produces toxic sap called lycorine within its stem."

"No, I did not, Your Eminence," though William responds to the bishop he still couldn't help but notice the alluring stare from the prophetess standing behind the Bishop.

"Therefore…"The Bishops' enthusiasm begins to appear on his wrinkled face "Other plants should not be kept in the same vase as daffodil, how astonishing! If it were not for the Prophetess here, I would never have grasped this benevolence."

The bishop looks upon William noticing that he is vastly confused. "To your feet my child."

As ordered William stands to attention. Again he catches the eye of the woman even though most of her face is covered by a white hood he can't help but admire her beauty.

Mera's faith is above all over the Gods and Goddesses. Like the daffodils in the vase of other flowers, none other can exist with it.

William finally understands what the bishop is trying to tell him and something like this puts his faith to trial.

"Your Eminence, are you saying that there can be no other Gods? That's blasphemy! To discredit their existence, they'll smite us!"

"Hold your tongue boy. Remember who it is you talk to," The old man lashes.

The woman behind the bishop bursts out in laughter. "The Gods with smite us!? Are you an idiot or just naive? Since when did any God dwell in any of our human's affairs."

William tried to protest but he remembers his place.

"What would a boy like you know of the Gods and Goddesses. You know nothing but chasing the first tail you see."

William is practically withdrawn from the prophetess's words. He imagined her to be a soft-spoken maiden. But still, her words speak to him. When did the gods do anything for humanity? Since they left thousands of years ago it was like they never existed.

What would the world be like if the Gods and Goddesses remained?

"Blasphemy is not showing Lady Mera the proper respect that she deserves from us. Our lack of faith is insulting. Lady Mera's words course through me," She continues while she steps in front.

"She revealed to me, can't you believe… the first time in thousands of years. The mighty beloved spoke to a human. My devotion has… no, our devotion has been rewarded."

Her piercing silver eyes gaze upon William as she talks, "So William there is something essential we need you to attain."

She smiles greedily.

"Find me the Books of Creation."
