20 Take Down

The sun is shining brightly in the clear afternoon skies. Cruisers are lined up on either side of the street. Bruno and Luigi find themselves blocked by a collection of cars waiting to be cleared at the checkpoint, putting their already frayed nerves into overdrive.

Luigi recalls how he was home-free a short while ago. He then remembers how his resentment, his rage forced him to return. He scans his surroundings again. What was I thinking coming back to this God forsaken place? Leo said he'd take care of her, but Luigi decided he wanted the satisfaction of watching her die. He figured it was a payback for all the anguish she'd put him and his family through.

Luigi fidgets in his seat as he nervously watches the cops going from one car to the next.. He thought about running but knows he'd only make it a few feet before he was gunned down. I would be living a life of luxury about now if I'd only listened to my gut.
