4 Sanity

The entity looked down at district from the sky. His condescending gaze seethed over the land, betraying any look of friendliness... or sanity.

The wind blew fiercely but his hair barely moved and he wasn't fazed in general. Even though the sun beamed down at him relentlessly, the cold aura shrouding him hundreds of meters in the air was as cold as the beast's heart when it came down to morality.

After a moment of forcing his disgust from extreme to concealed, he chose a location to land.

The entity's pet soared downwards at remarkable speeds that almost broke the sound barrier, found an acceptable altitude, and glided over on his Phoenix for hundreds of meters over a town named Chester.

The town was relatively small and the people there didn't realize the zooming oversized bird, making it a decent place to hangout and make a plan.

Fate had other plans though.

The entity spotted a total of 13 men in police uniforms; NYPD. They were carefully and impressively using acceleration-deceleration forces in magic to increase their speed. This was known as Propulsion Magic since they weren't increasing their speed but just increasing their kinetic energy.

"Disgusting insects always step into lairs they are bound to be crushed in, huh? Pitiful."

In one fluent move, the entity, without a parachute, jumped off of his bird in a laidback manner, not even bothering to stop himself from slipping.

He skydived in a straight, undefined sloped linear trajectory that decreases his surface area by a significant amount. This decreased air resistance and allowed gravity to do its job effectively.

This also gave no time for the recipients of the assail to respond.

In the air, still falling, the alien held out his arm, surprisingly unaffected by the strong winds and generated lightning within his palm.

The entity was an intelligent creature that even knew the physics of Earth in-depth. He knew that utilizing electric potential difference, which was caused by static electricity from electron jumping, he could strip nearby atoms from their electrons and create plasma streams.

Not many people knew that he color that lightning was given wasn't due to electricity but because of the plasma that electricity created. The alien understood this and used it to its fullest potential.

Obviously lightning generation was attempted, but containing it was a different story and the operation was cut off due to the lack of confidence in the outcome.

The entity, however, was extremely skilled in minutely controlling magnetic and electric fields. In short, he was able to contain, move, and/or manipulate lightning in small quantities.

The sleek skydiver kept his arms straight to his sides and chin downwards, already reaching upon terminal velocity before he opened his palm, sparking. The sparks were extremely bright, jumping between his fingers and causing crackling noises.

He plummeted on to the ground at high speeds. If his legs' impact that create the shockwave didn't harm his enemies, his follow-up attack was.

His palm full of plasmatic streams slammed into the ground. His hand was open and the lightning instantly brightened to the point where it could have been mistaken for a lighthouse.

Branches of electricity stretched outwards. Gigantic fingers of pure heat encompassed the men that were just now stopping in their tracks, although it was too late.

The electrical etches in the atmosphere however was useless in terms of heat against the heat-resistant vests the policemen wore. This wasn't the case, unfortunately for the latter.

The electricity dispersed... or so it seemed. The sparks seemed to disappear but the electrical currents still remained, and when the thought even crossed their minds, the officers were already dead.

The entity, using his own original magic, directed the stripped electrons to unite with their original parent particles, causing a gas to form. Since this was done while electricity was being conducted within the plasmatic currents, the said currents dispersed and the entity, still utilizing magnetic fields, willed the current to cooperate with the former gases.

This was accomplished by using Electron Stabilization that could only be casted if the prior steps were followed... but it also drained his energy quite a bit.

Nonetheless, the electricity, in the form of gas, invaded the pores within the officers' anatomy, scorching their insides in a horrifying manner, leaving them crispy on the ground like over cooked bacon.

As bubbles formed in their skin and flesh blistered and melted, the entity whistled a high pitch tune that willed his Phoenix to swoop down and snatch him away.

As he flew, albeit drained and slightly exhausted from using two difficult magics in one day, with his chin facing upwards, glared at the corpses that laid on the ground like homemade speed bumps, and spoke:

"Didn't you imbeciles know that electricity shuts down insects?"

As the entity looked around the city for any more enemies, he sensed a strange , immense amount of energy not too far away. The sense gave the entity a feeling of dread as he knew that he couldn't handle much more. He contemplated about confronting the source, but came to the conclusion that if they weren't trying to hide their aura, then they were obviously calling the alien out.

"If you insist," he growled in irritancy. "Besides, I'm running out of energy to maintain this Phoenix's form."

He brought the bird to the center of a huge courtyard, filled with nothing but flat grasses and cement walkways, which were all unoccupied. The smell of flowers entered the entity's nostrils and the sound of chirps filled his ears.

He closed his eyes for only a moment before opening them again and displaying a wry smile.

"You call me out and then hide? Cowards."

Expectedly, the said individuals appeared behind curtains of disheveled light rays, forming camouflage. The entity bit his lip.

"Didn't expect around 50 of them. The odds of me getting out of here in general are slim to none."

"So it seems you know your situation, alien," one of them said as they approached him. They wore the ordinary blue vests and white pants, but what was different was the gloves that they wore.

Those can't be because of the weather. Are those what was causing the energy waves from before? Or maybe something under them...?

The officer eyed the entity, followed his gaze, look at his gloves, then started laughing casually.

"Oh, these things? Don't worry! They're just... insurance..."

NO!

Too late, mysterious energy waves emitted out of the gloves, and all the officers had to do was watch. Scrambled forces of magic sent the entity's visual and informational processors into a complete frenzy that was uncontrolled. Unknown-colored streaks of misfired neurons entered the entity's field of vision.

"W-w-what is this?! What have you-?!"

"It'll wear off whenever it's disabled," the first officer said. "You are under arrest for mass murder and trespassing. You'll be lucky if you aren't sentenced to years of experimentation."

All 50 officers' gloves continued to emit the waves until the enduring collapsed to his knees, pressing his hands against his head, eyes wide with pain and fear.

I can't... I can't let them take me yet... I still need to...

Sleep

The entity's subconsciousness's command shut his eyes and willed him into a dreamless state of numbness. His last moments were the seconds of the officers lugging his body into an armored vehicle, which started moving after they got in as well.

I guess a few minutes of rest... won't hurt... so bad... ...
