3 You mean, this isn't yours?

Luna followed him after burying the dog, she didn't know in what direction he was taking her into the woods but she was about to find out.

It had been 3 days since she had woken up, not many signs of life around her but she was determined to survive this. She had the disadvantage of being injured and small structured, but she knew she could fight off some crazies if she needed to.

"Uh.. sir, what's your name?" She asked shyly since she hadn't found out before.

He turned his head to look at her, "Nick."

"Thanks for helping me, Nick." She looked down at her feet as she walked, "My name's... Luna.." she tightly grasped her forearm as she spoke.

"Just trying to save the human race, besides it wouldn't do much good if young'ins like yourself died. We need healthy young people if we want to survive." He turned his head back around and looked back into the woods ahead.

She was about to continue walking forward until he put his hand up as a signal to stop.

"What is it?" She asked, listening to her surroundings closely.

"We're here." He pointed ahead to a tall but old house, gray walls and rotting white wood.

"Oh, is this your place?"

"Nope."

She felt a little on-edge after hearing him say that. He stole a house! How was that even possible? They walked up to the stairs of the balcony, she followed closely behind him, a little nervous due to, well, one, this wasn't his house, two, he was a lot stronger than her and armed, three, he seemed to have a couple screws loose.

"Ladies first." He said as he unlocked and opened the door, getting out of the way so she'd have room.

"C-can we walk in together?" She asked, she didn't trust him all that much and was scared of the possibilities.

He looked at her and sighed, "Whatever makes you the most comfortable." He outstretched his elbow for her to hold onto. She cautiously grabbed ahold of him and they walked in together.

Looking around at the inside, she took in a deep breath of the air. It was stale and musty, nobody had been in here for a while. Taking a look around she took note of the victorian style wallpaper, it was dusty and peeling. The wood floors were scratched and dusty as well. Nick set his rifle down on a bench near the door, some old coats were laying next to it, they hadn't been touched in ages it seemed and kind of reeked.

"There's a room for you upstairs," He said out of the blue, "I'll be down here if you need anything." He continued through a door frame into what looked like a living room, she followed him in since she wanted to know her surroundings.

"Need anything?" He said, noticing she had followed him.

"Oh! No, I just want to explore." She pulled an anxious smile, hoping he wouldn't think to much into her intentions.

"Uh-huh.." He plopped down on the old leather couch, dust puffed up into the air from suddenly being startled. "Do as you please I guess." He slouched back and closed his eyes.

She thought to herself, relieved.

Looking around the room, she noticed a small TV from the 80s, maybe late 70s, sitting on a coffee table a couple of feet in front of the couch. The antenna was crooked and covered in spider webs. And for the TV itself, well, the screen was cracked and a big hole in the lower left corner. She started walking forward but felt a sharp pain in her foot, lifting it to find the cord to the TV unplugged and miscellaneously set in the middle of the floor. She picked it up and threw it behind the TV so that she, nor anybody else, would step on it again.

She looked back over at Nick, who was now fast asleep. Was he really sleeping, or was he just faking it? Her skin quivered as she thought about so many things that could happen here. The air in this house was cold, and she could see dust ๐™š๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง๐™ฎ๐™ฌ๐™๐™š๐™ง๐™š. It was like the locker room showers for a chinchilla. Wait, how did she know that? That was such a random fact... would really just anybody know that? Who was she before she lost her memory? There was so much she had to remember, and she didn't know how little time she may have to remember it.

She walked out of the living room into a small, retro kitchen. The tile on the floors and walls was chipping, cracked, and stained. There was a small microwave in the corner of where the counters turned. It was well-used, there were random food stains and burns on it. The counter tile was yellow, the wall tile was green, and the floor tile was an off-white. This house was quirky, she could say that much. There were random splotches all over the counter, stains of some sort. Turning back around she saw a little rat sniffing around the floor.

"Well, little guy, you living here too?"
