I wondered how we’d managed to get from confessions of what a crap person I was onto kissing so quickly. Then I decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth when Edward’s mouth was looking so much better.

“And I’m sure you’re far more successful than you think,” he was saying right now in a low, sexy tone that hit me right below the belt. “There’s more to success than money in the bank. You’ve managed to stay close to your sister even after what that bastard did to you both, and from what I’ve seen you’re a fantastic father-figure to Kevin.” An eyebrow quirked up. “And I haven’t even seen what you can do with your hands yet.”

I drew in a shaky breath. “You know, if you want dessert you’re going to have to tone the conversation down a bit, or I might just lean across the table and ravish you in your tiramisu.”

Edward smiled. “Sounds tempting, but if you’ve finished your main course, how about I just get the bill?”
