4 A White Swan, Part 4

It was already night. All the employees tidied up the shop before they went home each other. Patra cleaned the coffee machine carefully. Endah counted the income of today. Meanwhile, Virza finished washing all dishes and prepared to go home.

On 10:00 P.M., it was a time to close the coffee shop.

Patra went upstairs. He saw Lucky sitting on the couch and still focusing on his duty. Then, he told Lucky from the distance.

"Lucky, I put your key in the mailbox," Patra said. "We're going home, okay!"

Lucky waved hand from the distance. "Oh, right. Thanks for your hard work today, you three. Be careful when you go home!"

***

In the second floor, it seemed that the living room was wide enough, but it was actually small. This room had two small bedrooms, but Lucky often slept in the living room together with Kelana.

Lucky put his laptop that he brought from the bedroom on the table. He opened it carefully and looking for something. He started typing; searched some information about the stamp which belonged to that light blonde haired man he met in the coffee shop.

"It's Norway stamp. A mute swan, published in 1990."

He stopped scrolling the display on the laptop. He switched on the desk lamp, took the magnifying glass from the small black box on the table. He checked the stamp carefully; looking for its condition.

"It makes me wonder... this stamp has been used, but hasn't stamped yet by the post office—"

He found something small like a red dot at the corner of stamp perforation. "Wait, what is this?"

He focused checking that red dot.

No, it wasn't only a red dot.

It was a blood.

Lucky stopped checking that necklace. He put the magnifying glass back in the box; then closing the box gently. That stamp made him wonder, "Just what purpose that man covered his stamp by acrylics like this?"

Lucky sighed. He lied on the couch that he sat on. He held that necklace and thought for a moment. "I should return this. But, I have no clue to find him. Why the hell I could forget asking his name— ugh!"

His tongue was bitten off accidentally.

"Ugh, it hurts..."

Kelana climbed onto the table; stared at the stamp. That calico bobtail cat with the dark red scarf smelled that stamp. He felt like he knew something about it. Suddenly, he jumped onto Lucky's body. Lucky was shocked.

It was the big chance for Kelana to take that necklace from him.

Kelana took that necklace, then ran out of the coffee shop.

"W-wait! Give it back!" Lucky said. "Where are you going—"

Lucky took his jacket on the coat hook. He locked the door; and run after Kelana.

At that day happened; it made Lucky expend a lot of energy to find his beloved cat, also that mysterious man.

***

Lucky looked at his wristwatch. It seemed the clock was nearly 11:00 P.M. Almost midnight. But, he should pick up Kelana to home.

"Well... it's almost midnight. Where are you now, Kelana?"

Lucky wheezed. He stopped running and muttered with a heavy breath. He looked at the signboard in front of the building he stopped just then. Splendid Inn Hotel. He thought that he just ran too far from the coffee shop.

He sat down to the sidewalk in front of the hotel. He wheezed, took a rest for a while. At that time, he saw a calico cat with the dark red scarf stroking the grass across him. He knew it. He walked over that cat to make sure if he wasn't wrong

"Gotcha! Now, give that necklace back."

"RAWR!"

It seemed Kelana scolded him, but he didn't care anymore. Lucky directly picked up his beloved cat and took the necklace from his bite.

"Do you think you can run away from me? Serves you right." He flicked Kelana's ear and painfully smile. Kelana only made a sulky face in front of Lucky.

Back then, they looked at someone dressed all in black from the distance. That person was standing on at the balcony of Tumapel Guest House; the old building located across from the hotel where he stopped just now.

"What the hell? A ghost?" Lucky thought and felt bad about it.

At the time, Kelana jumped from his arms and went towards the old building.

"N-no, no, no, no... don't come over there— ah, I thought it's over!"

Lucky yelled; he pissed off. He stroked his hair hardly. At the same time, his mind got messed up at once. He had no choice but running after Kelana and trying to catch that calico bobtail cat.

As he expected; tonight, it would be the most tiring and unexpected day for Lucky.

"God, please. I hope everything's gonna be alright."

***

Lucky ran up the stairs; running down the hallway of the building and arrived on the balcony. He found Kelana shouted at that person.

"Kelana, are you alright—"

"Meow! Meow! Meow!" It sounds Kelana called him in an urgent. A sign that he wanted to say like this; "Lucky, look! I finally found him!"

Lucky saw that person clearly. He knew that situation. That man was about to end his own life. It made Lucky panicked. It was really an urgent.

Suddenly, Lucky grabbed his hand and pull out from the balcony.

"Crap, that was almost close..." Lucky wheezed; still holding that person's hand tightly. But, he rebelled.

"J-just let me leave from this world!" That person shouted to him. Lucky was shocked after hearing that.

"W-wait! No, no, no— w-what the hell is going on? Hey, calm down yourself first, okay?"

Their eyes met each other. Lucky noticed him.

"Oh, wait. If I'm not wrong, you're... that guy who came to my coffee shop this afternoon..."

A wavy light blonde haired man went shocked.

Lucky tried to approach him; looked at him closely. He realized something that he thought was familiar from his memory.

It was really him. That light blonde haired man who came to the coffee shop just then.

"Ah, as I expected. That's you!"

But, Lucky noticed something different on that light blonde haired man. He stared at his eyes seriously. He remembered how was that man's looks at that time in the coffee shop.

Right. That man's iris. Their colors looked like bloods. But, remembering about that, weren't his eyes blue?

"Whoa. Red eyes. Are you an albino—"

"Don't look at me! Let me go!" That man tried to keep his distance from Lucky.

"I won't." Lucky grabbed his shoulders tightly. "Calm down yourself first. At least, tell me what actually happened to you."

That man clicked his tongue. "For what I stay alive!?"

"Heh, you still have a soul to stay alive. Now I ask you, for what do you want to end your own life?"

"You're still asking for what? Do you think I have anything precious to treasure in my life? Because of my existence, my parents died in vain!"

What he said just then, it made Lucky shocked. "What..."

"Now, let me go!"

"Hey, I still want to hear more about you. Calm yourself down first."

"But I have no place that you all always call as 'family'! Let me go!"

"Hey, you have more choice in this life. You can also consider me as your family."

"Please, let me go! It's better that I followed them, right?"

"Just come and live with me."

That man still rebelled. It really tested Lucky's patience.

"Ah. I have no choice but I want to make sure with this."

Lucky felt hopeless. He grabbed that man's arms and pushed him; until both of them were standing near to the edge of the balcony. It made that man shocked.

"Tell me the truth. Are you sure, you want to end your own life?"

They could hear both of their own heartbeat.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Beating so fast.

What did Lucky do with him, it really tested his adrenaline. That man couldn't say anything but feel shocked.
