49 Chapter 49: Freedom

As they began to fly towards Tamaran her home planet she finally began to speak in her native tongue which Arias had no problems understanding.

"Komand'r was born the eldest child of Tamaran's royal family and my older sister. The first princess born in over the hundred years, she should have been courted and showered with the honors. On the day she was born the Citadel attacked and destroyed the western Tamaranean city of Kysarr, killing three thousand citizens in her name."

"Though she was in no way at the fault for what had happened Komand'r was for all time linked with that terrible day. To make matters worse, Komand'r had been stricken with the childhood illness that left her unable to harness ultraviolet light to fly as most Tamaraneans did. Komand'r grew up hated by the Tamaran population, who denied her the birthright and refused to allow her to be the next Princess of Tamaran. All of her queenly privileges, honors, and celebration were later given to her younger sister, Me."

"Komand'r's rage grew inward, and whenever she could, her hatred for her planet was focused on me her hapless sister. Komand'r's rivalry continued and intensified when we were sent for combat training with the Warlords Of Okaara. Things came to a head during a sparring exercise in which Komand'r attempted to kill me. As a result, she was expelled. Komand'r swore vengeance and joined the Citadel, quickly rising through their ranks to becoming a traitor against her own people and world."

"Komand'r later betrayed her planet with detailed information about Tamaran's defenses to the Citadel. They conquered Tamaran with ease, and the surrender conditions included the enslavement of me. I was also never permitted to return to Tamaran since it would mean the Citadel would devastate the planet for Tamaran's abrogation of the treaty. When I escaped Komand'r took her rage out on our people."

"I heard the news of my people suffering from slavery, abuse, and labor under the tyranny of my sister. The Citadel let her rule Tamaran for them to maximize the gains they received from it. My brother led the resistance and told me t seek help for our people. When I stopped receiving messages from him I feared the worst and became desperate in my search for help no matter the price...".

Arias nodded at Starfire who had tears running down her eyes. When they reached the planet and began to descend Starfire stopped for a moment and Arias looked back.

"Saviour may I ask one more selfish request?".

Arias said nothing but nodded and Starfire spoke.

"Spare my sister...I know it is a strange request to make after all she has done but I still love her. Had she been treated better she may have changed. My people will not listen to my reason but you...No one will deny anything you wish".

Arias only sighed and nodded.

'She's naive. Even in a different future where she had suffered six years of sexual abuse and torture under her sister she still tried to save her...The amount she's willing to endure for those she cares about is truly astonishing. I won't need to worry about her...But Raven...'

He stopped this line of thought when they descended upon a City. Starfire took a deep breath and spoke loudly in her language.

"Hear me, my people! I Koriand'r have returned with one to free us from the clutches of the Citadel. You will no longer have to suffer from their tyranny".

As she finished speaking the people began shouting towards her.

"This is all your fault!!"

"You sisters were a Curse!!"

"We endured your suffering and you dare come back saying such nonsense"

"Hahaha".

A laugh resounded below as a figure came out of Palace on a carrier. Tears began to appear in Starfire'seyes as she saw who the ones carrying it were.

"Father! Brother!". Her father and brother carried the carrier on either side as a figure with long reddish-black hair and orange skin sat on top of it comfortably being fed grapes by a topless woman with a revealing slave outfit who strongly resembled Starfire."

"Mother....".

Spoke starfire in a low voice as tears continued flowing looking at the woman with dead eyes look up with a smile at her.

The figure snapped her fingers and Arias and Starfire got surrounded by Tamaraneans. Some Citadelians appeared behind, the figure who had now flown down from the carrier looked up with a smile.

"Dear Sister it is so good of you to return after abandoning your people, but you are many years too late. My people have grown to love their Queen as only I keep the Citadelians from killing them and all they cherish".

Starfire clenched her fists and her eyes began to glow green.

"You are wrong sister! Never has one day passed that I did not think of my people. I spent every day of the years away looking for a savior for our people!".

Her sister smiled devilishly.

"But you could have given up your freedom and our people could have prospered still but you were selfish and chose to save yourself and now you return with a single man and claim you will stand against the whole Citadel Empire? What a joke!".

The people below began to shout and agree with Komand'r's words. They voiced their anger and sufferings at Starfire who could only stay silent as she thought they were right. Her freedom for the sake of her people would have been a small price to pay in her eyes.

Arias closed his eyes for a moment then flew forward but the insults didn't stop until he spoke.

"Silence...".

Once again his voice made planets shake as many citizens were forced to their knees.

"A-a-a God!!!!"

Many citizens yelled as they quivered. As for Komand'r, she had a look of worry.

He continued to speak in their tongue with the planet shaking after each word as if about to collapse.

"You wish for someone to give up their freedom for your sake but are not willing to do the same yet you dare shame that person. Are you simply that ignorant or do you believe your lives to be above hers? You are even stupider if you thought they would leave you be after getting only one of you."

"You are naive and prefer to blame others for faults they are not responsible for, Had that not been the case I wouldn't need to be here today"

As he was speaking Nearítheá appeared by his side.

"I'm done Father"

She said with a smile.

"And there heads?". Arias asked but Nearítheá continued smiling and pointed to the sky where millions of heads were falling like rain.

The Tamaraneans were speechless.

"The Citadelians and Psions have all been killed only you Tamaraneans and the Okaraans remain in this system...you are free".

Arias said it as if it were a casual matter.

Silence filled the planet but Starfire's younger brother yelled out in joy.

"We are free!!!"

And soon the rest of the people began to chant and cheer. Starfire's father had a look of shame in his eyes while her mother closed her eyes and smiled.

Komand'r tried to flee but was pinned down in an instant by Nearítheá.

"Get off me!! I'm a Queen!!! It's my Birthright!!!!Why her Why always her!!!". Komand'r said while yelling madly with tears in her eyes."

Starfire's father stood up and announced.

"I hereby order the immediate execution of my daughter Komandr for crimes against her people".

However before anyone else could react to his words, Arias spoke first.

"I do not recall giving you authority to make decisions in my presence".

Arias spoke while looking down to remind the people who's mercy they were at.

"F-forgive me, my anger got the best of me!".

Said Starfires father with sweat coming down his brow.

"Isn't selling off the future Queen into slavery also a crime?".

Arias asked as he finally landed on the ground.

The former King trembled at the question. As Arias had originally discussed with Starfire a while back he named her younger brother the new king of Tamaran and sent her father into exile from Tamaran but may still live in the vegan star system.

Starfire's mother kowtowed in front of Arias, She had always been greatly religious and taught Starfire to always bow in the presence of a God.

"A Queen shouldn't bow anyhow"

Arias said while thinking the mother and daughter were very alike.

"I am no Queen but a servant to you my Lord, Many nights I prayed to our God but got no answer, Then I prayed to other Gods and still got no answer. I had never seen a God before so my faith began to waiver but I still I prayed and prayed for anyone to save my people. And you a mighty God descended upon us and destroyed the two scourges of our system like it were nothing. Please accept my worship".

One by one the Tamaraneans began to kowtow and ask for their worship to be accepted. Most were sincere but others did so out of fear.

Arias had decided to stay a day longer for Stafire's sake. Although many citizens offered countless treasures, Arias rejected them all and told them to use the resources to grow stronger.

While Starfire went with her brother to see things in order, Arias sat in the throne room slouching on the throne with a blonde-haired girl sitting on his lap with her head on his shoulder sleeping soundly. A topless woman in slave attire stood near him with a tray of assorted foods. This was Starfire's mother her name being Luand'r who had chosen to live the rest of her life serving her, God. And at the bottom of the throne was Komand'r (Blackfire), he also wore slave attire and a chain around her neck.

Starfire had offered her either complete exile or to join her in her servitude under Arias. Though she would have to endure redemption he protected what belonged to him. Black fire reluctantly agreed. She had a great bounty on her head and without protection, she would be a slave or dead sooner or later.
