15 chapter 15
The fight in joker's was over very soon. The people that wanted the joker dead were satisfied, the people that wanted his territory were afraid of who did that to joker and the heroes were mostly trying to save the still alive joker.
Elias was mostly naked so he stole some clothing from the joker and ran away in the chaos of people running away. The joker's clothing looked a little weird, he wore a bright green shirt and purple pants and no shoes, both the pants and the shirt were a little tight. Elias remembered to transfer his things from his old pocket to the new. Elias also stole some money from the joker. He also used the dead gir's energy to heal himself.
Elias got away from the gang area, he managed to find Sir whiskers and they both hid in a half destroyed building. Elias casted the ghost of machine again as he felt it slowly fade and waited around twenty minutes to make sure he wasn't followed while he used telekinesis to get blood off of him. After he made sure he was safe and no one was following him he decided to give Elena a call.
"Hello." Elena answered after a few moments.
"Hey I'm done here." Elias said.
"Fuck." Elena said. "We are done here too, we just need to finish cleaning up here and I will come and get you."
"Don't rush it." Elias said. "I was actually thinking of getting something to eat so just take your time I will go to Karma, you can find me there"
"Okay, I'll meet you there." Elena said. "Don't eat too much unhealthy food. And be careful, Gotham is dangerous even for someone like you."
"I'll be careful." Elias said.
"Okay, bye."
"Bye." Elias said and hung up.
Elias then decided to walk openly toward the only diner that was just out of Joker's area. The diner was named the Karma and had protection from almost all of the gangs simply because they had great food. There are rumors that even the league of assassins and Order of St. Dumas also come to this place from time to time.
Elias walked to the diner and saw that the diner was big but it was mostly empty except for two girls. Elias didn't care about these two since he was very hungry, he just went to a table and took a seat. A few moments later a pretty waitress came to Elias.
"What can I get you?" The waitress said.
"Can I get two cheese burgers, onion rings and chips." Elias said and then pointed at Sir whiskers. "I would also like four burger patties for the cute guy over there."
*HISSSS*
"Okay, do you want five?" Elias asked.
*Meow*
"Okay, he wants five burger patties." Elias said.
"I'm sorry, did you just talked to the cat?" The waitress said with a laugh.
"Yes." Elias answered. "I hope it is okay for bringing my cat here. I didn't think if you guys were against it pets or not."
"No, we are okay with pets." The waitress said. "We usually get things like tigers or hyenas, you know dangerous pets but a cat just seems… too normal."
"Is there a problem with that?" Elias asked.
"Not for us." The girl said. "We really don't care who comes here but you might want to be careful. Our diner is known to be host to dangerous peoples of Gotham and you and that cat seem a little none threatening. It might be dangerous for you to be in this part of the town."
"It's fine, I'm a ghost." Elias said.
"Of course you are." The waitress said with a tiered sigh. "I already wrote your order, do you want any drink with your order."
"Just water." Elias said.
The waitress gave Elias a nod and left. Elias just laughed quietly as he looked at the camera in the diner while he still could feel the ghost of machine.
Elias saw the two girls seemed to be looking at him. He had no idea how to act in this situation and he didn't care so he just waved. The girls kept looking at Elias a little more as if seeing if the guy was dangerous or not then went back to their food.
Some times later Elias's food arrived and he started to eat. Halfway eating his food the clown girl came over and sat in front of Elias. Here hyenas also followed her, they tried to steal food from Sir whiskers but when sir whiskers hissed at them, they seemed a little scared at him.
"Cute kitty." The clown girl said as she started to pet Sir whiskers.
"Can I help you?" Elias asked.
"Where did you get that." The girl said as she pointed at Elias.
"Where did I get what?" Elias asked.
"The shirt." Harley said.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Elias said.
"I know that shirt." The girl said. "I'm not obsessed at all but I know that shir belongs to pu… Mr. J."
"Who is Mr. J?" Elias asked.
"The joker." The girl said.
This girl was obviously very obsessed. Who would know a green shirt belonged to a joker. There are a lot of crazy people that wear clothing like jokers. Elias could have kept lying and this girl would probably not believe him or he could just scare him.
"Are you his ex?' Elias asked.
"Yeah. But I'm totally over that…" The girl started to ramble about how she didn't care about the joker.
"I know you don't care about him." Elias said. "I mean, why would you care when you obviously wanted to kill him when you attacked the joker's gang in that chaos."
"Yeah exactly… wait hold on, how did you know that?" The girl asked looking a little concerned.
"I was there." Elias said.
"You were where?" The girl asked.
"You must be Harley." Elias said. "I remember the joker said he missed you as he killed his new slave and yes I said slave. He thought you weren't a more obedient slave not a girlfriend."
"Ivy!" Harley said.
"I see now you understand who I am." Elias said as his face shifted to his monster for a moment. "I would really like to eat without being disturbed. A whole day of rampaging had made me hungry and your hyena friends are also bothering Sir whiskers."
"IVY!" Harley shouted.
The green skinned girl sighed as she stood up and walked toward them. She didn't seemed to be concerned, she just looked annoyed.
"I told you he gave me weird vibes." The green girl, Ivy said. "I don't understand, what is with you and going for weird men."
"I don't think she is attracted to me." Elias said.
"He…he is…" Harley started to stutter.
"Hello, I'm Elias." Elias said as he raised a hand for Ivy to shake.
"Hey, I'm Ivy." Ivy shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you." Elias said.
"Ivy." Harly said as she slowly stood up.
"Okay so far so good." Ivy said. "He seems better than your last choice, what seems to be the problem."
"Ivy, he is…" She still had started to say but Elias cut her off.
"First, I don't think she likes me." Elias said. "Secondly, you shouldn't see joker as good way of comparing people. That guy really didn't see Harley as an equal."
"Oh my god," Ivy looked very embarrassed for Harley. "I can't believe you just told him about that guy. I mean, holy shit, if this guy hadn't run for the hills I say he might be good."
While talking, Elias felt a car trying to find a good parkin spot probably so no one would steal their car. There were five people inside the car. Elias could sense Elena among them and he could also feel that one of them was also familiar.
"IVY SHUT UP." Harley shouted.
"What?!" Ivy said, looking annoyed.
"She is trying to warn you." Elias said and again shifted his face for a moment. "But you don't have to be worried about me, I don't want to harm you. I just want to eat in peace and want you two to leave."
"Is that him?!" Ivy said suddenly looking a little concerned.
"Yes, that is him." Harley said as she looked very scared. "I think we should run before he decides to nail us to a wall or something."
"I don't think he kills women." Ivy said.
"I kill everyone." Elias said. "I am not like those sexist heroes that won't fight a woman. I would disembowel a woman the same way I do a man."
"Hey what do you think about plants?" Ivy suddenly asked.
"Are you out of your mind." Harley said. "He hates people that look like clowns and I am a clown. He is going to kill me soon."
"I don't hate clowns." Elias said. "I just want to send a message to the gang that I would keep hunting them if they do joker things. And I take energy from plants, they are a good source of energy but I if you care about plants then you don't have to worry, I don't kill the plans
Elias felt his sister and her group walking toward the diner. It seemed like they found a good parking spot and were walking toward the diner. Elias also felt something weird, some sort of weird smell coming from that Ivy girl.
"You know what, I think I will keep you around for a while." Ivy said.
"Oh, I forgot you could do that." Harley said as she relaxed a little. "I was so afraid that I forgot that we are supervillains."
Elias didn't feel anything. Ivy smelled good but, even before his powers were awakened he could resist mind controlling effect of all kinds.
"Would you leave," Elias said with an annoyed voice. "I'm starting to slowly feel angry. I really don't want to be banned from Karma because I skinned a couple of assholes
"Okay, now we should leave." Ivy said now looking scared.
The two girls paid for their food and rushed out in time to meet Elena in their way out. Elena and the two girls seemed to know each other. Elena greeted them and the two frantically warned Elena of Elias. Elena laughed at them and told them Elias was her brother. The two were calmer but they still ran away.
"Hey." Elias said as he waved toward Elena and her group.
With Elena, Elias saw two girls and two guys. Immediately behind Elena was a white girl with shaggy blond hair. She was short, athletic and wore a tight combat suit that hugged to her body. She carried two pistols a baton and wore sunglasses in nighttime and indoor.
Walking with that girl was a black girl that had short black hair and brown eyes. She wore a tight combat suit that looked like the other girl but it wasn't that tight. She wore two weird gauntlets that had guns attach to them.
Both of the guys that came with them looked east Asian. The first one had black hair tied to a small pony tail and he had brown eyes. This guy held a weird bow that had a dragon head and a quiver of arrows. He was the only of the group without any combat clothing.
The next guy was the one Elias knew. He had the same shaggy black hair and headband. Now he wore a high tech combat armor. This was the guy Elias saw the second time he met the scorpion.
"Hey, what did you do?" Elena said as he walked to Elias. "I knew those two girls and they looked very scared of you. Did you say something?"
"Yes, I threatened them." Elias said.
"I forgot you are like this." Elena said as she rubbed her eyes. "Can you explain more, how or why did you threaten them?"
"The green lady tried to mind control me." Elias said. "Well mind control is me being generous, she started to smell weird and she acted like she was trying to control me. I didn't like that so I threatened to skin them alive. Also, the clown lady's hyenas were bothering Sir whiskers."
"Oh, hey little guy." Elena said as she gave Sir whiskers a couple of pets.
"Okay, what the fuck?" The blond girl said with a laugh.
"Did you just say something about skinning people?" The black girl said.
"Elias meet the group called pain in the ass." Elena said with a sigh. "The blond is Cassie, the other girl is Jacqui, the archer is Kung Jin and the las guy is…"
"Takeda." Elias finished. "We've met before. He was with that scorpion guy."
"Oh shit you're the dirty guy." Takeda said as he just recognized Elias.
"Dirty guy?" Kung Jin said.
"Wait, hold on scorpion?" Jacqui said. "Why didn't you tell me?! I'm his biggest fan. He is so fucking cool."
"Listen, I'm not going to hurt you." Takeda said.
"You can't hurt me." Elias said. "I don't want to be an asshole but your friend scorpion thought you couldn't and right now my sister is your team leader so I think you can't do anything."
"Fine you have advantage right now." Takeda said. "I am not going attack you even if I could kill you. My former master basically kidnapped me and brought me to you. He said you were if I kill a hardened mercenary I would be able to resurrect my dead mother, he thought I also deserved a chance of getting my loved ones back. When I saw you I realized I didn't want to kill an innocent for my mother."
"I kill people so I can't be considered that innocent." Elias said. "Also the resurrection thing won't work. I was killed and someone else collected the bounty so attacking me would just be dying for no reason."
"I'm sorry, did you say you died?" Cassie said.
"No I said I was killed." Elias said.
"That's the sa… oh you are just being an asshole." Jacqui said.
"Yes." Elias said.
"I think we are missing something." Takeda said. "How did you die when you are definitely don't look dead?"
"I resurrected myself." Elias said.
"HOW?" All four of them asked in unison.
"I made new friends that helped me get out." Elias said.
"Makes sense." Cassie said.
"Is she connected to that Johnny guy?" Elias asked Elena.
"That is his daughter." Elena answered.
"Okay, I thought Elena was weird." Jacqui said. "Seeing this guy my idea of weird people completely changed."
"You look a little taller." Elena suddenly said after looking closely at Elias.
"Your priorities are fucked." Cassie said with a laugh. "He is talking about skinning people, killing people and dying once and you are concerned about his height. And here I thought my family was fucked."
"He was shorter the last time we met." Elena said. "Sorry to think my brother suddenly having growing a couple of inches over night is suspicious."
"I like eating stones but Asphalt isn't good." Elias said.
"Okay, it is you." Elena said with a sigh of relief.
"What the fuck." The others said in unison.
"I promise I won't bitch about my family again." Cassie said.
"Me too." Jacqui said.
"Hey do you guys want to order something." A waitress said almost like she appeared beside them.
The waitress suddenly appearing out of nowhere scared everyone a little, except for Elias. Elias felt the waitress coming and realized she was very fast, too fast for a normal human.
The group decided to take a seat and order. Elias was weird but eating seemed to come first. They all order and Elias decided to wait for their food to come before he started to eat, he didn't want to act like an asshole. Elena sat beside Elias and started to steal onion rings from his plate.
"How did your mission go?" Elias asked.
"It didn't go that well." Elena said. "I had to always keep an eye on these assholes and we didn't find the two face until we were about to leave."
"Give us a break." Jacqui said with a groan. "We did pretty good for our first mission. Also it was only the five of us against god knows how many armed thugs."
"I think we did great." Cassie said.
"You did great you say." Elena said. "Elias, would you tell me how many people helped you when you took down the joker's gang?"
"I didn't have any help." Elias said.
"Look at that, he managed to do it alone." Elena said.
"Flexing someone else's power?" Cassie said. "Why don't you flex your own power? Oh wait, I remembered, you were with us in that mission you think went horribly."
"I will flex my powers." Elena said and turned to Elias. "Hey Elias look at these four, my powers are so awesome that they are unharmed after fighting a fucking army."
"Okay, maybe you should stop berating them." Elias said. "I don't know what happened in your mission but these guys don't look that hurt so I say they probably did great."
"They don't look hurt because I was protecting them." Elena said while glaring at the others.
"Maybe we should talk about something else." Kung Jin said.
"Like what?" Elena asked.
"Like the fact that your brother said he died." Jacqui said pointing at Elias. "How does that work? How does a dead person comes back to life and talk about it like it was a normal thing."
"Listen, resurrection isn't that uncommon." Elias said. "That scorpion guy and the bald guy were talking about him being resurrected. They were also talking about resurrecting a god of necromancy after killing me."
"Wait hold on, what?" Elena said.
"I said a lot of shit, you have to be more specific." Elias said.
"That part about the god thing." Elena said.
"That is something I heard." Elias said. "I also don't think they can do it anymore since the bald guy is dead and my death isn't worth that much anymore."
"I still have to report that." Elena said.
"Tell them about my money too." Elias said.
"Sure." Elena said and then looked at Elias. "By the way, what's with the weird shirt? I remember you wearing something different than this."
"My clothes were dissolved in acid so I took joker's clothes." Elias answered.
"Why aren't you wearing any shoes?" Elena asked.
"They were uncomfortable." Elias answered.
"You look ridiculous in that outfit." Jacqui said.
"Thank you." Elias said.
"Don't encourage him please." Elena said.
"I like your brother way more than you." Cassie said to Elena.
"Yeah, fuck you too." Elena said.
Their food arrived and they started to eat. They made small talks about powers and things like that. Elias learned about their powers while giving them a general idea of what he can do.
Elena had to take her team back and they really didn't have enough space for all of them so Elias told her to take them back and he would just walk. They decided to wait for each other to near the eastern bridge of the uptown.
Elias paid for everyone with his stolen money and left. He decided jump from rooftop to rooftop, that was a lot faster than a taxi.
While jumping from rooftop to rooftop, Elias felt like something was looking at him. Even Sir whiskers in Elias's arms seemed to feel it as he started to hiss at a random direction. At first he told himself that it wouldn't be the people that hunt him down, since he was with Sir whiskers. Elias had a theory that whatever sir whiskers was, he hid Elias from his enemies.
Elias then remembered something, when he went to rampage, he was away from Sir whiskers for a while. He remembered putting Sir whiskers on top of a building. Did he get too far away from Sir whiskers then? It didn't matter now, Elias had to hide from whatever was hunting him.
Elias first looked at where Sir whiskers was looking. In that direction, Elias at saw nothing but when he tried looked away at the corner of his eye, he saw something. Looking back again, he didn't see it nor he could feel it. After some trying, Elias found out that he could see something when he looked indirectly toward where Sir whiskers was looking and he saw something was moving toward him and it was fast.
Elias turned around and tried to run when he felt a sharp pain on his shoulder, it was like something with sharp claws grabbed his back. Elias turned around immediately to punch the creature and for a split second saw a white skull in a field of shadow.
Elias turned around and when he punched behind him, he felt his hand hit something. He released as much telekinesis energy as he could toward what ever he hit and he felt something being pushed back.
Elias started to run again, this wasn't a fight he could win. Elias saw from the few moments he looked at his enemy that it was fast, probably faster than Elias. He couldn't outrun this creature normally but fast creatures have a hard time maneuvering so Elias was going to use that.
Elias started to run and from time to time he would make hard turns or a drop down to an alley, things like that. No matter what, he couldn't sense what was hunting him but he could see him from time to time from the corner of his eyes, he always knew something was following him.
Elias suddenly got a horrible idea when he was running. He couldn't see this creature while looking at it normally, what about when he was in the Gotham's murky waters. People's visions aren't what it looks when they are in the water.
Elias ran as fast as he could toward the Gotham's bridges. As he got to the edge and was about to jump, he again felt something grab shoulder. Elias dropped Sir whiskers to the ground turned around and grabbed whatever was holding him and jumped toward the water.
Elias felt claws digging to his as they were falling. The moment they hit the water, Elias managed to see the creature clearly. It looked like a young androgynous human with deathly pale skin, black hair and black eyes. The rest of the creature looked like solidified shadow with long sharp talons.
Elias didn't waste time, he grew his claws and started to slash the creature's body as fast as he could. Elias used his telekinesis to create the energy shield around himself to weaken the damage and stop air from leaving his body if his lungs were damaged.
The two started to slash each other's body and neither even tried to defend. Both were short on breath and wanted to force the other to retreat. Both attacked the neck and the chest of their opponent.
The water had usually weakens the movements but these two didn't really mind. They would grab the opponent with their claws and close their hands and rip a chunk of meat off. This went on for a while and it was soon clear that Elias wasn't losing air and he was ready for the water but the shadow wasn't.
The shadow disengaged from Elias and started to leave. Elias would usually follow the creature but he was in no state to do that and he only swam up. He got to the surface took a deep breath and got back down. He was using his telekinesis to keep losing blood and air.
Elias was terrified of dark waters like this, the fear of what could attack him could drive him mad. Right now, he was more afraid of the shadow that hunted him so he stayed in the water for some time and only coming to the surface when he needed air.
Elias stayed in the water for about five minutes before coming to the surface. He had to keep the telekinesis around his body to stop the bleeding and for the fact that his throat was completely gone.
When he got out, he saw Sir whisker run toward him. It looked like Sir whiskers was about to jump to Elias when suddenly he stopped when he realized Elias was wet.
Elias started to search frantically for any source of energy. He would take from plants and corpses that were a little hidden and were left there for a while. He started to slowly heal enough to be able to talk but his chest and neck still looked skinned. This was a horrible way to understand that his healing powers have gotten stronger.
After partially healing, he rushed toward the bridge to meet Elena. When he got there, he saw Elena was waiting for him and he first checked with Sir whisker to see if he was sensing something and then went to talk to here.
"Oh my god." Elena said when she saw Elias. "What happened to you? Where you attacked by something? Are we attacked? Should I call the others?"
"No, you should leave without me." Elias said.
"What?! No fuck that." Elena said angrily. "I'm not letting you go in that state. We need to get you to somewhere safe."
"Listen, something is hunting me." Elias said. "I didn't tell anyone about this but I have enhanced senses. I could always feel everything in a 32 feet (10m) around me, like a bubble. It have gotten stronger and got a couple of other powers like that but I couldn't sense this thing. Other than the time it grabbed me by its claws, I couldn't sense it. Sir whisker could but that really limited my options."
"Wait hold on you can sense things?" Elena said suddenly worried about something else. "Dose that mean you could feel what we were doing in our rooms."
"Don't worry, I can shut it down." Elias said. "I stopped looking at you guys when any of you started to touch…"
"Okay stop." Elena said angrily. "There is no privacy in that fucking house. Listen, you will never look at us when we are in our private space, is that clear?"
"Yeah sure." Elias said.
"Okay, now tell me about this hunter." Elena said.
"I couldn't feel it." Elias said. "The only time I could detect that fucker was when I looked indirectly at it and when we were in the water. I almost died fighting that thing just to make it escape."
"What do you want to do now?" Elena said.
"I will stay here." Elias said. "I will find a patch of dirt with energy in it and bury myself in it. I know it sounds weird but that is the best way for me to hide and heal."
"I really don't know what to do right now." Elena said. "I really don't want to leave my hurt brother to fend for himself."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Elias said. "I just have to make sure you people are all right. I really can't worry about others getting hurt when I want to hunt that thing."
"I guess you know what is best for you." Elena said.
"Okay, you should go n…" Elias was saying when suddenly he was tackled to a hug.
"Be careful you dumbass." Elena said.
"I will be." Elias said.
The two parted ways. Elias searched around a little until he found an area with enough energy for him and he dug himself in.
When he buried himself, Elias felt Sir whiskers bury himself near Elias and go to the half dead state like him. It was then that Elias thought that Sir whiskers felt really similar to himself. This was a nice thought to sleep with, being one with your cat.
