27 Chapter 26

The person fighting, was shooting blue beams that incapacitated the armed goons.

"Damn that suit is cool as hell!"

In the midst of chaos, I found Daniel cowering next to an armed man. The blue person shot the gun and the man that held it. Then they aimed towards Daniel.

Voranis: No!

I ran as fast as I could and managed to move the arm-cannon upwards at the last second as another blue beam was shot.

Voranis: What is wrong with you? Can't you see he's just a harmless unarmed civilian?

I admonished while being invisible.

?: Th-that wasn't me!

The voice indicated that he was a man inside the suit. He seemed startled and took a step back but then snapped out of it. He looked around and after a couple of seconds he turned and locked on me.

"He can see me?"

Blue Guy: I can see where you are!

He could at least see my silhouette.

"Well that answers my question."

Voranis: I don't really want to fight you, you know.

B Guy: I'm not so gullible as to believe that!

He morphed both of his hands into swords and charged at me. I equipped my armor but stayed invisible. I blocked his strikes and pushed him back. From his movement, I realized he was still a novice with weapons.

Voranis: You're gonna feel really stupid at the end of this...

I could just turn off my invisibility and maybe he would recognize me as someone from Metropolis since I partnered with a few famous people but I still wasn't sure about revealing myself.

"Since he's probably a hero, I guess I can help him train a bit."

He came running again. I easily parried his attack and he lost his balance.

"Might as well enjoy it."

Voranis: Keep your center of gravity low and your legs close when you run.

He grumbled as he attacked again but he did use my tips.

This time I blocked and then kicked him in his stomach.

Voranis: Just because we're fighting with weapons doesn't mean I won't use anything else i.e. my legs.

As he approached once again, his arms merged into huge clamps. He used that to hold me in place.

Voranis: You got me, how about we stop here?

B Guy: Do you admit defeat?

Voranis: How about no?

Forgetting about my current lack of control, I used our point of contact to electrocute him.

I got free but then I felt my power get wilder.

From a third person's point of view, it would look like lightning was swirling around in the air since I was invisible.

Voranis: Blue guy quick, get the people out of here!

He groggily got up.

B Guy: What? Why?

I fell to one knee from the strain as I tried to contain my power.

Voranis: Ugh... Just do it!

At the end of my sentence, I heard a woman's voice from behind.

?: Azarath Metrion Zinthos!

The moment the unknown power surged behind me, my dark templar powers surged on their own, swallowed my raging psionic energy and I began to lose control once more.

My body began flickering and I was becoming visible. Then my armor slowly started to disappear as I lost my connection to it.

Voranis: Wha-

A wave of dark energy hit me and I passed out.

---3rd Person---

Blue Beetle: Wow! Since when could you do that?

The young man in the blue armor exclaimed at the newcomer.

Raven: I can't, I don't know what happened!

Answering in surprise was a beautiful young woman with ashen pale skin and medium length dark purple hair. She was wearing a dark purple cloak that covered her whole body.

She moved back the hood of her cloak and went to inspect the man she just hit with her spell.

Blue Beetle: So what are we going to do with him? He didn't seem like a bad guy.

He also approached the unconscious man.

Blue Beetle: Wait, that's...Voranis!

Raven: You know him?

Blue Beetle: We're jus acquittences but he's a really good guy. Probably.

The woman stood up.

Raven: Alright, let's bring him with us, I'd like to know what happened.

Blue Beetle: Agreed! I'll carry him, but first let's tie the goons up. I've already informed the police and they're on their way.

They put the unconscious men together and tied them up. Then, Blue Beetle picked Voranis up and they flew towards their base.

---1st Person---

I felt something really soft on my chest and a comfortable warmth all around.

Voranis: Kara...

The moment I unconsciously said that name, something clicked and I abruptly woke up.

I found myself in an unfamiliar room. The single bed I was lying on smelled nice. Somehow I was clutching a pillow on my chest. Standing up, I took a better look around the room.

There was a closet, a desk ,a chair and a nightstand. I took a look outside the window and the city of San Francisco greeted me.

"So I'm inside that 'T' shaped building."

I turned invisible just in case and some memories flashed in the back of my mind.

"What the heck happened? That woman did something to my powers. But how? I need answers! Maybe it has something to do with me being here on this planet..."

Checking the door, I found it unlocked and a hallway extended in front of me.

"Not locked. So I'm not a prisoner here."

Taking careful steps despite my invisibility, I followed the hallway and after a left turn, I reached an elevator.

"I should find put who's in charge here. That's probably the best way to find the answers that I seek."

I entered the elevator and was faced with multiple buttons.
