8 Chapter 8: ~Metropolis Bridge is falling down~ falling down~

[AN: Little clarification;

The first time he 'died' after getting his powers was like a simulation from Rick and Morty, it was doomed, a.k.a kill him, no matter how he built the bomb. The second time he died after getting his abilities, someone had messed with the Evo-Matrix safety net/lock that usually protects the wearer of the Omnitrix.

The reason as to why his name changed is because I believe that since there is an infinite amount of variants for everyone according to the Multiverse theory then it is not just the occupation (Hero or villain or jobs) that could be different, names could be as well if we are going by physical appearance as the common denominator between variants of oneself.

Speaking of Variants, to be clear the variants that he meant would come after him are not the variants of the one that would be eliminated by the weapon too cool for a name but the variants of the close ones.

Also for those who know about Hellsing, Schrödinger will not be part of this story not because his ability is too overpowered but because it is negated in the omniverse of DC. Allow me to explain, there is an infinite amount of possibility slash universe but there are beings who transcend those reality and live in a higher plane so they don't have variants of themselves but avatars at best.

Among such beings theirs a few that can see everything from present, past, and future at the same time and on a daily basis. So that means that they are observing Schrödinger twenty-four seven which means that he can't use his ability since he needs to remain unobserved.

Lastly, he will be jumping from realities when he wants to because I'm trying to be a bit realistic, if you had a way to get a clean slate with no consequence coming to bit you in the ass wouldn't you do it? That is why the option to jump from reality to reality is on the table and ready to go... unless he has a reason not to... ends here for dramatic effect]

[Nathaniel Hargreeves' Person Point of View]

[

Batman declares as the man in front of him freezes. He looks at Batman before speaking.

"Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?"

His pants drop down as he walks towards the dark knight.

{AN: Imagine JoJo walks meme}

"Ready to see my Dark Spear, dark knight?-"

]

I stop the show as a green portal opens in front of me and a variant of myself walks out of it.

"Analysis mode. Password 80085."

I stop moving as he smiles and dances in place.

"Yes! I knew I wasn't a deco-"

*Thud*

He does not get to finish his sentence as a light arrow is fired from my hands and into him. My variant falls to the ground.

"Blackout Arrow!"

I mutter before I get up, walk towards my variant unconscious body on the ground, and press my hands around his head.

"Searchlight!"

I fired a small light arrow from the tip of my finger that allowed me to invade my variant's thoughts and memories. The ability allowed me access to his subconscious memories and confirmed what I suspected.

The Variant had doubts about whether he was a decoy and wanted to disprove them. You see, from what I suspect there is only one real me and the rest are decoys. Think about it, I was sent here which means I would be an anomaly yet there is an infinite version of me.

It could be due to the multiverse theory but it could also be due to the first original me that decided to create decoys across the multiverse as a way to take the bullet meant for himself after he erased his memories.

This is just a suspicion but if I thought about this then that means my variants also thought about it as well, heck, I could actually be a decoy myself and not realize it. This leads to a clusterfuck of a mental mess and migraines which is why it's best to just not think about it.

'To be a decoy or not to be' THAT... is not enough to break me but it would be enough to start a multiversal war once other variants learn who is the real one. They would kill him to ensure that they are real which would prompt the other variants to kill the variant the killed the original for the same reason.

This brings me to the variant that I am currently removing his backups from his brains and other failsafes. He decided to try the password that he would have chosen for a decoy on a variant of himself to see if he was right, if that failed he planned to kill me because he could not let someone know that he was worried about being a decoy and live to tell the tale.

*Bang*

I shot him in the head after his backups were fried and made sure that he was dead. I then tossed him into his own universe, in his house before I made one of his inventions blow up to make it look like an accident. This way, when another variant takes over his place, he will not look any deeper.

If you think this is crazy then you have yet to see what my variants do on a daily basis. Since there is an infinite amount of variants then that means they are pretty much doing everything possible but I have noted a certain pattern.

A dozen of my variants always travel across the multiverse to gather other variants who have yet to unlock the secrets of dimensional teleportation, offering them the chance to gain the technology by joining their own individual club and when the latter variants refuse, the former kills their loved ones.

This starts an ongoing chase of revenge across the multiverse. Five out of seven of those latter variants choose revenge and roughly two out of seven manage to get their revenge. If you are wondering how I know this then, a variant of myself decided to film those revenge stories.

He became rich before the variants, whose stories he sold to become rich, tracked him down and killed him. I never understood why he did this since if it was about money he would have been able to become rich in his own universe thanks to our intellect... unless he did not have enough of it.

There are a very small number of my variants who are normal though considering that out of an infinite set, it might not be that small to begin with. Still, from my observation, only variants who are raised by magic practitioners use magic the rest tend to solely focus on their powers or intellect.

Thankfully, I was raised by the Hargreeves who have the rest of the treasures of the Campbell family. I say the rest of the treasure because the Campbell family usually has a Dofus as part of their treasures before they fell down from grace.

That Dofus eventually hatch into variants babies of myself who can use magic which is how I was technically born in this world. What truly matters is that the Hargreeves had the rest of the treasures which allowed me to remake a few enchanted weapons and other crafts.

I may have Dubs' skills but I can not make a good weapon without proper magical tools and ingredients which is why I was happy that the Hargreeves managed to keep the Campbell's fortune. I have to say, some of the crafts I have made are masterpieces.

[Third Person's Point of View]

*BOOMB*

Superman breaks the sound barrier as he uses his heat vision to bisect three buildings in half as some of their molted part fall to the ground and injure the unfortunate people who did not manage to get to safety.

Cries of fear, pain, and horrors are saturating the city that was once called the city of tomorrow. Looking at it now, it would be called the city of yesterday. Each second that passes with Superman's rampage not being stopped is another second where dozens of names would be taken off the census.

*BOOMB* *BOOMB* *BOOMB*

*RATATATA*

As Superman continues onward with his rampage, he is showered by a hail of bullets bringing his attention to the Batplane that flew past him and headed towards a deserted area outside of Metropolis once Superman.

*WHSH-BOOMB*

The Batplane did not get the opportunity to leave the city as Superman flew right through it and it exploded. Batman barely had time to eject when the plane exploded sending shrapnel towards him. A piece of shrapnel lodged itself into his side. Thankfully his body armor only allowed a few inches worth of shrapnel into his body instead of flying through him.

"Argh! Superman! This isn't you, you have to come to your senses!"

Batman says as Superman uses his heat vision to burn the former's parachute. This causes Batman to fall to the ground until He is caught by Wonder Woman who flies him down while Martian Manhunter fights Superman, bringing him outside of Metropolis where other league members are waiting and ready to help Martian Manhunter with his fight against Superman.

"He is being controlled."

Batman says to Wonder Woman.

"Any idea who?"

She asks as she gets ready to fly off.

"Off the top of my head, A.I.M."

Batman says as he realizes that Superman started to act weird after his fight with Nimrod.

"We'll pay him a visit after this is over-"

"Wait! Take this, you will need it."

Batman interrupts Wonder Woman to give her a piece of green Kryptonite he had taken from his utility belt. It took forty minutes and seven Justice League members with Batman joining off and on again to neutralize Superman and bring him back to his senses.

He wore a horrified look after learning of what he had done. He did not need his friends telling him anything, his super senses allowed him or more precisely did not allow him to avoid the consequences of his actions, mind control most definitely but his actions nonetheless. He was brought to the Watch Tower to be medically examined and be distance from Earth so to have some time to deal with what had happen.

As the fight ended, they received news from the Watch Tower that Themyscira had requested Wonder Woman's presence personally. Sensing that something was not right, Batman advised for other league members to go with her which included himself.

"By Zeus..."

When they were teleported to the shores of Themyscira, Wonder Woman fell to her knees. This was due to what was in front of her- in front of them all. There was a message in German. Even if most did not understand or realize it was German it still horrified them.

"Der Krieg unserer Träume steht vor der Tür, Wonder Woman. Du dachtest, wir wären gestorben, und doch lebten wir noch. Wir hoffen, Sie auf dem Schlachtfeld zu sehen."

Batman read it.

'This is German for The war of our dreams is upon you, Wonder Woman. You thought that we had died yet we still lived. We hope to see you on the battlefield.'

He thought.

The message was not what horrified the heroes and brought Wonder Woman to her knees. It was what the message was made of. It was made of the severed heads of the Amazons who each wore a terrified expression while in front of the message was a single head that was cleaned of blood and put on a pedestal.

"M-Mother."

Wonder Woman faintly said as she hugged the severed head of her mother after bringing it into her arms.

"Fan out and search for any survivors."

Batman yelled hoping he was wrong, as he deduced that everyone on the Island might already be dead, so as to bring a semblance of hope in his friend's most dire moment. They searched but found no Amazonians that were still alive.

They brought a distraught Wonder Woman back to the Watch Tower where she remained still beside Superman. Batman was going to start a meeting to decide on what course the League was going to take when he was informed by Martian Manhunter that Superman and Wonder Woman had left for Earth.

He immediately understood that Wonder Woman had faked being distraught to hide her unadulterated rage, she did this so to have a moment alone with Superman and used it to convince him to aid her in her revenge. There was no need to guess where they were headed.

The super duo flew at top speed towards A.I.M's Tower. They flew straight ahead not caring about the repercussions of their action towards the league. They did not even stop to think when they saw the tower but flew through the wall, making a crashing entrance.

*BOOMB*

In front of them was Nathaniel who was casually playing a video game. This sight only served to infuriate them even more. It was only out of sheer will that they did not kill him on the spot, they spoke while gritting their teeth.

"You are going to pay for what you made me do."

"Where is Millenium?"

Nathaniel paused the game and stood up while the duo glared daggers at him.

"Analysis mode. Password 80025."

As he spoke those words, Superman and Wonder Woman's bodies glitched before they stood still as if their consciousness had been turned off.

"Programming mode. Password 80935.

Superman, you will hold in your rage until Wonder Woman uses her Lasso of Truth. You will ask me why I made you do all of this before she can ask her question to which I will respond that I did not make you do that.

Hearing this your rage will dissipate for a bit due to confusion. Wonder Woman, before you even ask me anything, I will tell you that I do now work with or for Millenium. This will momentarily calm you, long enough for me to give you, their location, and both of you will leave this place without causing any more damage.

End of Programming mode. Password 80934."
