What is that?...

*crack*

"What did you say?" (President Bush)

On the White House in the oval office, the president of the United States of America, George W. Bush, and the Secretary of Defense received the news from the N.A.S.A.

'A meteor's going to impact earth in two days, and it will land on Metropolis, to be more precise.'

In his surprise, the cup of water that he had on his left hand slipped onto the floor.

*Cough*

"Mister President, we need to decide what to do." (Secretary of Defense)

"What can we do!?" (President Bush)

He looked at the secretary, and then he looked at the representative of N.A.S.A.

"Well, that's the problem. The velocity and size of the meteor are..." (Representative)

"You're not going to tell me that you all don't have any solutions, are you?" (President Bush)

"Well..."(Representative)

The representative started to sweat; after all, they indeed didn't have any solution; the meteor was traveling at such extraordinary velocity that it was impossible to stop or change course in these limited hours, but there was only one solution—the worse one.

"A nuclear missile"(Secretary of Defense)

"!?"(Representative)

Indeed, the most destructive one was the only solution. This method will not save the planet completely. After all, the minute that the meteor is destroyed, the debris will fall on earth. The smaller parts will be destroyed in the Earth's atmosphere, but the bigger ones will fall all over the globe, doing irreparable damage to the ecosystem and to the nations and their citizens.

"Is there any other solution?" (President Bush)

The answer he received was silence from the representative and his secretary of defense.

"Very well, it's time to tell the American people"(President Bush).

"Sir...""Sir..."

"God blesses us all"(President Bush)

******************

The next morning, an emergency transmission was announced on public television.

"In the early hours of the morning..." (President Bush)

The news was transmitted on all televisions in the United States, not only to them but to the whole world.

All of them said the same: a catastrophic incident will occur in two days when a meteor will fall on Earth, bringing chaos and destruction with it. To prevent this, a nuclear solution is necessary.

"What!?..."

"No way!"

"Oh my god!"

"No,no, no, it can't be."

"I need to call my parents..."

Immediately, chaos and unrest filled the whole world, but a man in Metropolis was different from the rest.

***********************

Clark saw the news on the cafeteria's television; in fact, the whole campus saw it, and he couldn't believe it, but with a look from his supervision into the sky, he saw the meteor coming quickly in the direction of the earth.

"This..."(Clark)

He got an idea—an opportunity for him to reveal himself to the whole world—but he was doubtful, so he picked up his phone and made the first call.

*Ring*

*Click*

"Hi mom..." (Clark)

After an hour of greetings and worries, the only thing the both of them told him was to be careful. They knew that he was invincible, so they didn't worry about that; instead, they worried about his mood and mental health.

"Yes, mom, I will. Okay, I will talk to both of you later." (Clark)

*Beep*

Ending that call, he looked for another number in his contacts; he didn't have many to begin with. The title of this contact was registered as "little bro".

*Ring* *Ring**Click*

"Hi little brother..." (Clark)

**************************

I was watching the emergency broadcast that the government put on television. I was at my house in Florida right now for a bit of a vacation before going back to deal with the Amazons.

*Ring*

Suddenly I received a phone call, and I have some clue as to who is calling right now.

I reached for my phone and answered.

*Click*

"Hi little brother..." (Clark)

(Indeed, it was you.)

"Well, hello, big brother, what can I do for you in these apocalyptic circumstances?"

"You saw the news..." (Clark)

"I think most of the population knows these news by now, don't you think?"

"Right, I was calling you to ask you something." (Clark)

"Hmm...let me guess, are you going to ask me to do something about the meteor?"

"What!?, no, wait...you can do something about it?" (Clark)

"Not really..."

"....."(Clark)

(Ha, ha, ha, ha... ok, enough of teasing him.)

"Ok, enough jokes. Tell me, brother, what happened?"

*Sigh*

"I wanted to ask your opinion about me doing something about this situation." (Clark)

"Hmm...did you call mom and dad?"

"Yes, I did(Clark)

"What did they tell you?"

"To be careful(Clark)

(Well, they know their son.)

"Then let me repeat those words: be careful, big brother. This will be a decision that will change your life and the lives of many, so be brave and know that I will always have your back in case things get dire. Just call me and I will be there."

Hearing those words, Clark felt a huge burden on his chest get thrown away.

"Thank you, and I will take those words to heart. Well,  see you around, little brother.(Clark)

*Beep*

Hanging the phone Isaac looked at the screen of his television.

"And so it begins—the new era for this universe and the planet Earth."

Somewhere on the North Pole

*Crash*

Clark landed in front of a cave.

*Thud* *thud*

He slowly approached the interior of the cave; the cold was nothing to him. Instead, he was recalling the words of his father, mother, and brother, along with the memories of the people around him.

Without noticing, he was standing in front of a beautiful crystal-like structure when suddenly a male voice spoke to him.

[Did you find the answer, my son?]

"Yes, yes, I did(Clark)

[Then tell me, Kal-El, why do you wish to become their champion?]

"Because I love them, I love my mother, my father, my brother, and every person on this planet, and I know that they can do terrible things, but I believe they have the potential to do so much good" (Clark)

A silence engulfed the cave.

[Well said, my son. Come,  I have something for you if you wish to help them.]

Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C.

"Mister President: Rusia, China, and North Korea are opposing the decision." (Secretary of Defense)

"So what, if they are!, the meteor will not fall on their country, isn't it?" (President Bush)

"But sir, they will take these chances to..." (Minister of External Affairs)

Since America announced his solution to the meteor problem, other countries strongly oppose that decision, and some even threaten the U.S.A. with nuclear warfare.

"All of them are..." (President Bush)

Before he was going to finish that sentence, the representative of N.A.S.A. came running into the oval office.

"Mister President!" (Representative of N.A.S.A.)

"What!"(President Bush)

Seeing the president so upset, he quickly said what the Observatory Department told him.

"There's something approaching the meteor,Sir"(Representative)

The way he said it was the same way the other people said it, with a tone full of incredulity.

"Say what now?" (President Bush)

Clark took off past Earth's atmosphere into space, and when he reached Mars atmosphere, he finally saw his objective: a relatively small meteor, or at least small compared to a planet.

"Here it goes"(Clark)

He flew close to him, and he match the speed at which the meteor was traveling, then he slowly started to push the meteor out of the Earth's orbit with his hands and body. He was carefully pushing it because he felt that he could break the meteor easily.

Once the meteor was out of Earth's orbit, he went back to Earth.

Metropolis

"Hey, what is that?" (Random Person)

"What?" (Random Person 2)

"There up in the sky"(random person)

The person pointed at the sky, or more specifically, at the object that was coming straight to them.

"Huh?"

More and more people stopped on the streets, trying to figure it out.

"Is that a plane?"

"Is that a bird?"

"No that's...."
