10:29 p.m.

In the Brazilian city a huge beam of light crossed the city, the authorities were surprised but seeing that no one was injured they didn't care. But it was a body that fell in the middle of the uninhabited beach.

It was the figure of a young man, perhaps in his twenties, smooth brown skin without blemishes, swimmer's muscles, black hair, when his eyes opened a pair of beautiful brown eyes were revealed.

"Okay... I think I'd rather stay in space than suffer this pain in my neck." He said as he stood up completely naked.

"Let's recap, I had an accident, I died, I entered some kind of lottery and now I have superpowers related to the Sun, well, at least I'm in the least physically dangerous version of the DC Universe, and very well... maybe it's good to create a purpose ." He said as he straightened up.

"The question is what to do with this power, I could try to remain anonymous, but I honestly don't want that, maybe do like Wonder Woman and be public, but why think so small." He smiled as he looked at Christ the Redeemer.

"Wait for me world, you are in for a very hot surprise!!." He said as his eyes glowed gold with circular black spots.

[Palácio da Alvorada: 07:29AM]

The President of the Republic of Brazil, Humberto Santos, entered his office to start the day, but upon entering he found someone sitting in his chair.

He didn't panic, but he narrowed his eyes, in such a troubled world he lived in he knew he couldn't do anything wrong, or he could end up dying.

"You are very brave to come here, son." The President said as he looked at the young man who had previously fallen onto the beach.

He now wore more formal attire, a white shirt with black jeans, looking very economically successful, even though he was currently unemployed.

"Mr. President, there's no need to worry, I'm here with an unmissable offer." The Young Man said as he stood up.

"People here say that a lot." The president said without hesitation.

"Yes, without a doubt, but this time is different, see, my name is Roberto da Costa, but you can call me Sunspot, and I want to offer you a deal." He said as he held out his hand.

The president decided he might as well listen to the offer.

[Metropolis: 07/27/2010]

1:00 p.m.

In the center of the city of tomorrow there was a huge building with a sign saying Lexcorp, on the roof there was a bald man, wearing an expensive black suit with a red tie, green eyes and a very serious expression.

He then went to an area of his office and pressed a button, he was accompanied by a woman of medium height, long brown hair and a black suit.

It was Lex Luthor and Mercy, and they were now in some kind of bunker, with screens spread out.

"Let the gathering of Light begin." Vandal Savage said leading the meeting.

Among this group were Lex Luthor, Queen Bee, Ocean Master, Klarion, Brain, and Ra's al Ghul, all peak members in different spheres of influence.

They were all gathered to discuss a subject that has been causing them problems on the South American continent for nine months.

"We have been meeting much more frequently in the last nine months than we have in the last three years. I fear this new nuisance will soon overtake the Justice League as our top priority." Ra's spoke, as others looked at the screen as footage of a man in a yellow suit and his skin completely covered in dark energy with small golden spots.

"That's a bit of an exaggeration, but I admit this new nuisance has become annoying." Said Queen Bee, as Ra's and Savage looked at her.

The actions of this new superhero were significantly reducing their sources of revenue generation and they were starting to feel it. The others were luckier in the sense that their revenue streams were much less prone to disruption.

"Mon Ami..." spoke the Brain, "What do we know about this new hero? Is he an alien? Or a metahuman? Or does he derive his powers from a more... shall we say exotic source?" the question was a bit loaded, even when Luthor got in line.

"From what we have observed, his powers appear similar to the Kryptonian, but in my opinion, we have not yet seen what he is fully capable of. He has demonstrated powers of flight, super strength, super speed, invulnerability to conventional weapons, and the ability to fire energy blasts " admitted Luthor, with a grimace.

"The simulations were not able to predict the upper limits of his abilities, in fact we are not sure, but I think he has even more abilities that he has not openly displayed. The energy he emits indicates that his abilities may be solar in origin, although still not be conclusive."

"So he might not be an alien, but a metahuman?" Queen Bee asked curiously, to which Luthor complied.

"And are we sure that arcane forces are not at play here?" Savage asked with a grunt to which Orm responded.

"So far, we don't see any evidence of that." while Klarion curiously remained silent.

"What do we know about this Sunspot?" Ra's asked after a moment of silence, as Luthor again looked at his notes.

"He first appeared on the scene about nine months ago when he dismantled the Medellín Cartel in Colombia," Luthor said as the monitor began to display various news reports and other non-public footage obtained from his sources. In it, the Latino superhero can be seen running through an army of cartel gunmen and taking them down, non-lethal but effectively.

"The Brazilian government has officially declared a superhero of South American origin and Brazilian ethnicity and formally recognized him as a metahuman agent of the Brazilian Ministry of the Interior, and declared it to the UN. Since his arrival on the scene, he has practically crushed all the major South American drug cartels." Luthor reluctantly shook his head in surprise as he was sure this was something that could not have happened before.

Even the Justice League wasn't able to do much, although it could be argued that his hands were tied by the UN Charter, something that didn't apply to this newcomer.

"The Medellín Cartel, the Cali Cartel, the Norte del Valley Cartel and the Costa Norte Cartel have all been permanently dissolved," Luthor highlighted, as he continued.

"All the cartel leaders were arrested, their drug production refineries were demolished and he even destroyed all the drug stocks, mainly cocaine, produced in Colombia. You must remember the burning that was broadcast throughout the world." Luthor continued, even as the audience's reactions ranged from humor to curiosity to irritation.

After the destruction of the cartels, Sunspot publicly burned all the cocaine confiscated from the cartels in a huge ceremony in front of all the world's major news networks, in the presence of members of the Colombian, Brazilian and Argentine government and ordinary citizens with great fanfare. LexCorp barely managed to keep the servers they maintained to operate the Internet from shutting down, just barely.

"Then we should cut our losses," came Queen Bee's voice.

"13,789 tons, wasn't it?" — asked the Brain, even his mechanical voice couldn't hide the inflection of inner humor.

"Street value estimated at 976 billion dollars, of which 37% would be donated to Light, which is now lost to us. This led to a 6% reduction in our operating resources this year. It is still an issue. For now, all other cartels, throughout South America, have stopped producing drugs for fear that Sunspot will hit their operations. And the only place that still produces drugs is the island of Santa Prisca, which also has our main production facilities for Venom and the Blockbuster formula. And as everyone knows, Brazil has always claimed the island, but has never been in a position to assert it, but now. Luthor stopped, even Savage grimaced.

"Now, do you believe they're going to move to Santa Prisca," Savage pointed out, to which Luthor nodded.

"I am sure that President Humberto will not give up when victory against the 'War on Drugs' is literally handed to him on a silver platter. and legally and historically, they have every right to move around in Santa Prisca. Our sources indicate that the Brazilian anti-drug task force, Search Bloc, is mobilizing in its entirety with the assistance of the Brazilian Air Force and Navy, and Sunspot has been tasked with dealing with metahuman interference, if any." Luthor finished as Savage grimaced.

"And our agents on the island are certainly not capable of mounting a defense against the Latin military, much less against Sunspot," Ra's pointed out.

"They can barely hold the island against the insurrection of its previous owner," he pointed to the conflict between Kobra and Bane.

Although Bane was a freelancer who had worked with the League of Shadows before, he considered the attack on Santa Prisca a personal insult and had waged a high-level insurgency since Kobra took control of the island with the help of the Light. Of the forces charged against Santa Prisca, the only polite thing that could be said about Kobra was that he was a certified lunatic.

"Then we should cut our losses," came Queen Bee's voice.

"Still, prudence dictates that reinforcements be sent to Santa Prisca, at least until our investment is secured. The Sportsmaster can deal with all common threats, but against the Sunspot, I fear he will be defeated." spoke the demon's head, while others considered this point.

"Then let's find some expendable metahumans to bolster the island's defenses, and if necessary, we can send in Black Adam and Wotan as a last resort. I'm sure they are more than capable of dealing with Sunspot." replied Savage, to which the other nodded.

"Very well, by the light." replied Savage and the others followed suit when the conference ended.
