60 A calm day

-Lucas's pov -

The second I arrived home I consumed several liters of blood my thirst raged like a storm. My true form took too much out of me, it was like I was stranded in a barren desert with no water, no blood, and nothing to help.

I sighed deeply once I felt normal again, I saw Dembe looking at me from the corner of my eye, "what's up?" I asked knowing his answer

"You didn't need it," he replied

I knew what he meant, I didn't need to use my true form, and I didn't need to go all out.

"I know but, I need to get used to it," I replied while stretching my rapidly healing limbs

I was sore after the fight. He might not be strong, but he sure knew how to land a lot of fast hits.

"So train with it but using it in a fight could leave you weak," Dembe replied

I shook my head, I got where he was coming from, I knew that it wasn't the smartest thing to do in a battle. To be completely honest I just wanted to see what it would do to people besides Dembe.

"We have to go to your rally," Dembe said causing me to halt my steps going up the stairs

"What?" I asked

"Your rally, another reason you shouldn't have used the ability. It's morning now and we need to go to the rally." Dembe said shaking his head at my shocked expression

I forgot? I was so mentally tired I a vampire forgot his own rally.

"Anything else for today?" I asked while I got dressed

"Andrew called and asked to meet," Dembe said as he set out a couple of watches for me to choose from

I clicked my tongue in annoyance, "okay we will meet him after the rally,"

Andrew unfortunately has it embedded in his head that I'm some type of vampire savior sent down with my 'unique' gifts even among the vampire community to lead it to a new era.

He has been trying to meet me to boost my relationship with other vampires, our race is small in number now and Andrew is in hiding after the invasion ended and his deal with the good agents of order ceased.

I wanted to laugh at the absurdity of the situation, I used to be a normal guy, with a normal life, a normal job, and a normal family.

Now I'm actively avoiding leading a whole race, I am stronger than most, and I am almost the mayor of a city.

I would have never believed any of this would have happened if someone told me, my life feels more like a movie than anything.

I stood proud, discarding my distracting thoughts, and began to make my way toward the rally.

I breathed deeply in and out, in and out. Concentrating deeply on what I was hopefully about to achieve. Opening my eyes ever so slowly I looked around my room, well what would have been my room.

In its place was a vast jungle that spanned as far as the eye could see, the faint smell of raindrops and earth permitted the air.

I gently touched one of the leaves and smiled, this was truly amazing it felt like a damp leaf.

Suddenly I felt weak and fell to the floor, my room was now back to normal and I was breathing heavily.

I realized I could create illusions shortly after the incident, to practice I have been casting illusions on myself. I started off small, changing my hair color, my eye color, and basically normal things to random colors.

I moved on to larger things from there practicing every day for hours a day when I talked to Lucas and mentioned I was interested in illusions because of a book I was reading he became animated and told me all about illusion powers in different books.

I knew a book nerd like him could help.

Since then I started training my visual illusions, then moving on to the other senses.

Right now I can create a pretty good illusion that can fool all senses but, I can't hold it for long depending on the size, and with someone who is more observant they would be able to easily see through it.

I went downstairs to eat and refuel my energy, tomorrow I'm going to try to hold an illusion for the whole day.

Maybe my scent?

After the rally, I went to my bar. It's still operating but I just don't visit often. Mainly I use it for business meetings and as an extra hideout in case I need to lay low.

Walking inside I gestured to my worker to leave, after he left I saw Andrew speed in. I smirk slightly seeing his healed body.

The last time I saw him he looked homeless.

"Andrew," I said holding out my hand

"Lucas!" he said gripping my and pulling me into a hug

I was a little surprised but I let it slide.

"What can I help you with Andrew?" I asked wanting to get down to business

Andrew smiled brightly, trying his hardest to project good vibes it seemed.

"I want you to join me in visiting the last place vampires can call home, just so you can see other members of your race," he replied

I groaned this is going to be a long conversation.

-? Pov -

My plans were coming along nicely, I was to travel toward Starling City next. I heard Deathstroke is there and if he is I could potentially use his help.

The only unknown factor in my plans is this Azreal character, the arrow I can handle but, this other guy seems much more dangerous.

For someone like me, I can't make mistakes.

"Sir Mr. Savage is on the line for you," my secretary said

I smiled, keeping him waiting probably isn't the smartest idea.

Picking up the phone he didn't waste any time, "your trip to Starling city may be delayed we have far more important things to deal with,"

I frowned, "and what is that?"

"Meet me in Central City, more and more players are joining the board,"
