1 True Monsters

Metropolis, the city protected by the all-mighty Superman, the strongest hero.

On the exterior, it's perhaps the most beautiful city in the world... completely different from Gotham... but on the inside, it's rotten to the core.

In a small apartment, there lives a small family, a married couple, and a small boy with jet black hair and heterochromatic eyes.

This story follows the life of that five-year-old boy, Adam Sylar.

In a room reeking of blood and mold, lays Adam, tied to his bed with a gag in his mouth stopping him from screaming as he gets violated and beaten by his father.

Scars line his back and arms, tears flow from his eye and as each second passes, a little bit of light leaves it.

His father blames the boy for looking too much like a girl, and his mother got so jealous and angry about his eyes, that when he was four, she gouged out his left eye.

He knew this was only the start when his father left the room and his mother entered.

Heroes only cared about the big problems and the police became complacent having Superman do all the work.

Each night, Adam would pray to whoever was listening to save him... no one answered.
