Chapter 3:The Servant Girl

I regained consciousness and found myself on the floor looking up at the same old ceiling in the same old cold dark rusty prison cell I've been in for the last 9 years.I felt something cold and wet touch my forehead and moved my head to see a girl that looked no older than 17 with blonde hair looking at me giving me a smile filled with pity and sadness.

"ρε καημένο παιδί τι σου έχουν κάνει," the blonde lady said in Greek as she began to wipe dirt and blood off my forehead. After she was done she pulled out a bowl and started to put things in there like some leaves and lemon?she began to mush them together mixing them up until they made a green goo.

"να είσαι ακόμα αυτό θα πονέσει"she said as she gave me a worried look I didn't understand anything she said but made out a word that meant hurt.She moved some bandages on my leg and started to put the green goo she made on it spreading it on the wound.

I felt like my skin was on fire and hissed letting out a grunt the lady lightly slapped my forehead and let out a giggle and said "Σας είπα ότι θα πονέσει, μην ανησυχείτε αν και είναι απλώς φάρμακο".

I didn't understand any bit of what she was saying but knew I was getting teased by this girl.She finished giving me what we that green gio was and gave me a cup of what looked like yes I was going to reach for it but hissed because of my dislocated shoulder.

"ανόητο κάτσε πίσω θα σου δώσω το έφτιαξα μόνη μου συνταγή της μητέρας μου"The girl said as she brought the cup to my mouth and I began to drink from it.I was sketchy first thinking it might be poison but my throat was extremely dry and drank anyways.

My first thought on it was that it was extremely tasty and has a bit of mint in it that made it even better.

I looked back at the girl and smiled and said "Thank you,you don't know how long it's been since I've gotten anything that good before"

The girl looked puzzled at what I said and looked around really quick and got closer and whispered "How can you speak English"

I was shocked because after so long of hearing another language there was finally someone who spoke English.

I smiled and practically yelled aloud "You speak English finally you don't know how hard it's been haven't being able to understand or talk to anyone"

She looked at me weird and said"Of course I can speak English all of our sisters on Themyscira are taught the language of man but that doesn't explain how you know it did one of the other servants teach you was it my mother".

I didn't know what to say how was I supposed to explain this by saying oh yeah you know I was actually born knowing how to speak this language.I looked behind the girl and saw a piece of cloth that had the cross on it from the knights and thought of what I was going to say.

"One of those men in armor taught me before they died"I said in a solemn tone that made her look down.Good she believed it maybe I could get some answers from her about this place.

"You called this place Thema something is that where we are"I questioned

"Themiscyra also known as paradise island not Thema something get it right next time" The girl said as she corrected me."and yes that's where we are it is the home of the Amazon's". She said as she held her head high up with pride.

"What's your name"I asked

She looked at me and smiled and said "Sofia daughter of Teresa one of the greatest healers on the island and the one who saved you".

"Your mother is she the one that always gives me food?"

"Yes she is the one"

"Why"

"Why what"

"Everyone else on this island treats me like garbage why don't you and your mother"

"Mother said there shouldn't be a reason to hate someone who hadn't done anything to you and your the only one on the island that's closest to my age"

"And how old are you"

"I turned 14 a month ago"

Jesus she looked like she was in her teens time to change the subject.

"Do you know what year it is"I asked trying to change the subject and get as much information as I can.

"The scholars have been keeping record for a while I think they said somewhere between 1199 or 1220"that would explain those guys that means beyond this island the crusades are going on.

The biggest question came to mind that I needed answers for"Why does everyone on this island hate men so much"

The Sofia looked down with a sad face and was stuck in thought than looked up and said

"That's because a long time ago back in Greece men killed and enslaved many of the Amazon's so the goddesses Aphrodite,Artemis,Athena and Hera made this island as a paradise for the Amazon's granting us immortality and made the law that no man should lay foot on this island and if they should they would be punished by death"She said but what got my attention the most was the death part.

"Than what was with all those men you all captured and put in the prison cells"

The girl shook her head and said"I don't know about that mother hasn't told me and said I wasn't old enough and she would be telling me when I was older".

Sigh

"I see thank you for answering my questions and helping me can you tell your mother I said thank you for all the times she gave me extra food"

Sofia's face immediately brightened up with a smile and said"of course she would be delighted knowing you would be alright"

I smiled maybe everyone on this island wasn't so bad.

Sofia sat down besides me and said"do you want me to teach you Greek I would be more than delighted to"

I smiled and nodded my head"sure it would be nice to know what people are saying from now on".

A/N:Aye it's ur boi I know I said there would be 2 chapters today but I had to deal with my baby cousins and was distracted I'lol upload a chapter tomorrow I hope you all enjoyed this one lmk if I messed anything up grammar wise.Also give me some ideas I should do in the comments.Im tired See you all tomorrow Peace ✌🏻
