21 The Trip and Plans

[[Barbara Gordon]]

"Now don't cause any ruckus, guys." Mr. Blake said while Ms. Hudson helped the girls organise their things.

"As long as you all don't ruin the University's name— you all are free to move around a bit. But if you cause trouble, you will be the one to face the consequences." He warned.

"Well as long as you don't cause any trouble, you might get rewarded." Ms. Hudson said, enticing roars of appreciation from the boys.

"Barbara." Mr. Blake called. "You will be in charge of the girls' group."

Then he turned around. "And Leeroy, you will be in charge of the boy's group. Make sure that everyone behaves."

Both Jenkins and I nodded.

While it was a bit of an inconvenience that I had to look after the rest of the students while Kara and the others were going to be enjoying the trip… it's always good to help the teachers.

"Alright then. We will be going towards the hotel first. Then everyone will take a four-hour break and in the evening, we will be visiting the Central."

The Central was gorgeous after dark and it was not even a part of the trip— but professor Hardy made some end moment alterations.

"Honestly, I didn't expect you to make it. You have been quite busy and I believe the only times we talked were during the staff meetings." I said as she was one of the busiest staff members in the entire university.

Jaina Hudson… All I knew about her is that she is an Indian American, working as a Librarian in the same University as me.

She is known for being hardworking… and for her beauty. Most of the male professors can't seem to keep their eyes off of her, and some of the female professors are in the same boat.

But I can't really blame them— she is gorgeous.

Brown with black hair and green eyes. Plus she has the body of a model with the perfect curves.

I can see why they are so much into her.

"But you are a popular one, aren't you?" She smiled. "You have been here for little over a month and you have already become the most popular professor within the university."

"Not necessarily… It's mostly because I am new." I answered as I believed that was the most plausible cause.

Well, the other professors rarely trying to make studies interesting was another reason.

"It was a pretty decent ride till here." She said. "So the kids are still energetic."

Kids are always energetic. And this was a trip… So, of course— they would be full of energy.

"Want to go out for lunch?" I asked. "The hotel food is good but there are some better restaurants."

"Your treat?" She asked with a smirk.

"I don't mind." I smiled.

[Unknown Location, Near Metropolitan]

Ra's had been looking at the city view for a long time now. The place was destroyed not very long ago by Steppenwolf and within a few days, it has been rebuilt.

Human technology was a wonderful thing. And while he denied accepting that one day it would surpass the art of mysticism— he couldn't deny its grandeur.

One such stupendous technology was Lex's Kryptonian Slayer.

He marvelled at the fact that a man who hasn't lived for even one-tenth of Ra's' age— created such a splendid piece of work.

But as he stared at the city, he couldn't get rid of the melancholic feeling. He didn't know what was causing it— maybe it was because the place was very close to where he fought Void, maybe it was because this fight was going to be the greatest one.

He didn't know. All he knew was that he was going to succeed. No matter the odds— he was going to come out victorious.

Superman was the greatest threat after the Bat. But he had trained the Bat with his own hands. He knew how the Bat thinks and acts… and that gave him an edge over Batman.

Flash was someone he needed to strike down within the first few moments of the fight. And then the entire league would fall one by one.

"Lord Ra's… We have prepared everything." Lex's voice drew Ra's' attention.

Lex stood in his usual business attire with a bald head while his sister, Lena stood next to him in a similar but feminine business attire.

Ra's didn't pay any attention to Lena but gave Lex a nod.

"We will attack once the sun is down. The people of Metropolis never sleep… however, most of the people should be returning home by then." Ra's looked at Lex and then at the city. "Metropolis is the home of Superman. Attacking it would draw his attention instantly and that we cannot afford without being fully prepared."

Lex nodded. "I will prepare everything."

But Lena didn't look so confident. "Brother… are you sure about this?" She asked, worried about his safety.

Lex laughed. "We have everything that we need to win. Kryptonite, Lord Ra's and his soldiers… not to mention once we take down one or two league members… the entire villain association will jump in to finish them."

Ra's looked at Lena with a kind face. "Don't worry little girl. I have trained Batman, I know how he thinks and acts. As for Superman… your brother has his bane." He showed a small smile. "And once those two falls… it's only a matter of time before the rest follow."

Lena was still unsure of the outcome. The two older men had envisioned their victory but she knew… she knew that it was not going to be that simple.

Even Steppenwolf failed. And she hated to admit it… but compared to Steppenwolf— Lex was a fly.

His intelligence was far superior to Steppenwolf but in a realistic battle, he didn't stand a chance against the alien warlord.

They had planned to destroy half of the city just to draw the League's attention. Lena was not a good person by any means… but killing and harming so many innocent people just to draw the attention of the league didn't sit well with her.

But there was nothing much that she could do. As compared to them, she was only a normal woman.

[A/N: Been busy with coding and spent the rest of my time writing Marvel chapters (So this chapter is kinda small).

DC Facts: (1) In Dark Nights: Death Metal #1, in order to survive— Batman uploaded his brain in a T-Rex. And that T-Rex became B-Rex. (Not even kidding… You can legit read it in Death Metal #1) There cannot be anything more stup- wait… there is also the Bat-Cow.

(2) Wonder Woman was originally named Suprema, the Wonder Woman… But it was changed as it sounded way similar to Superman.

And yeah, she was also supposed to date Green Lantern. (I can not picture that, sorry.)]]
