7 Chapter 7

"So that was actually Diaz escaping through that mist?" Nightwing asked Damien and Batgirl as they sat at a table in the bat cave waiting for Batman to arrive.

"Yep, and what is worse is that we had no idea he would be able to use some type of magic or would have that type of super power either." Batgirl replied as she tried to hide her disappointment in herself.

"I am sure Master Bruce will have some sort of clue once he returns." Alfred the Bat family's butler chimed in as he dropped a tray full of drinks and snacks for the three heroes.

"I would call that being optimistic, but we both know that if my father did not find anything from the scene, that the trail on Diaz had officially gone cold." Damien said as he grabbed the glass of water and chugged the whole drink down before casually wiping his mouth dry.

"I might have an idea, but it will be a long shot." Batman called out as he walked into the cave. As he walked down the stairs, he took off his mask revealing a concerned look.

"What did you find Bruce?" Nightwing asked him before the team stood up to follow Batman to his big computer.

"Nothing." Batman replied as everyone's faces in the room dropped from excited, to hopelessness.

"If you found nothing father, then, how do you expect us to believe that you have an idea where to find clues or even Diaz himself?" Damien asked as the rest of the team tried to brainstorm of what Batman might be thinking.

"I want you all to remain here until I get back." Batman told the team as he turned his chair around to face them and Alfred who was present as well.

"With Diaz out there and possibly equipped with powers that we still know nothing about, do you really expect us to let you leave without one of us?" Nightwing asked Batman, clearly feeling left out of his plans.

"With Diaz trying hard to not draw any further attention onto himself, that means we will be able to patrol the city tonight without feeling too much danger to ourselves." Batman told the three heroes and Alfred before continuing.

"If you three would like to go out on patrol before I get back, you can do so if all of you decide to go. However, this trip I am about to make, is one I need to do alone."
