12 Confronting the Oracle

Drystan was currently walking through the streets on his way to the clock tower to confront Barbara about her being the Oracle.

When he first learned about Barbara and her hero escapade , he was honestly quite worried about her.

The poor girls in a wheelchair for christ sake, one criminal decides to make an attack the clock tower and she would be done for.

She put up some basic defenses, but nothing that would physically stop anyone from entering just stuff that would let her know it's happening.

The only positive thing about this is that she hasn't taken up a residence in the clock tower alone.

His clone has seen both the Black Canary, the Huntress, and lady Blackhawk frequently come and go.

He also knows what these girls real identities were as they are Barbara's housemates.

The closer he got to the tower, the more excited he got.

He is going to meet some real life superheroes and possibly become friends with them.

He likes having powerful friends that won't try to kill him when they find out who he is.

Heroes tend to have a no killing policy here after all.

Then again besides barbara he can find records of the other three killing at some point in their career.

Makes him a little worried, but if it came down to it he could handle himself.

When he got to the clock tower he immediately entered and started heading up.

The building was Large and sturdy as Wayne Enterprise had designed it to resist earthquakes.

So it took him some time to finally get to the top where he new that the Oracle was operating.

The room was filled to the brim with filing cabinets and computers, old busted mirrors and nick nacks, even some mannequins that he couldn't think of a purpose for.

In the back of the room he could see barbara surrounded by a couple massive screens shouting at someone through the mic.

She was still sitting there talking through her headset when he intentionally made a sound by stepping on a old piece of broken glass that had been on the floor.

Hearing the sound Barbara immediately jerked her head around and was surprised to see Drystan standing there in the middle of the room.

"Drystan... how did you get in here?" she asked still reeling from the shock of him being here.

After she asked this she sneakily pressed a button on her wheelchair that signaled an emergency and that she needed backup pronto.

"Your security was good, it's just that when it comes to computers nobody, and I mean Nobody is better than I am. Drystan said full of confidence

Almost anyone else would have set off an alarm when they even came near the clock tower. Drystan however just directly hacked into the buildings defenses and made her security ignore him.

Drystan after saying that, dragged an old dusty wooden stool in front of barbara making sure to maintain a distance in which she didn't feel threatened and sat down.

"Sooo...." Drystan paused for a few seconds before continuing "the Oracle huh"

After he said that Barbara's shock deepend as he not only followed he here but also knew her secret identities name.

"What, you didn't think I came here without doing any research did you?" he said while raising an eyebrow.

"I found out about your little situation here a few days ago when you hacked into by laptop, or did you think that someone who was called a genius programmer wouldn't have some safety measures on their laptop?"

Drystan shook his head and didn't wait for her to reply before continuing speaking "I spent the last few days figuring out your whole situation before I came here because I like to be prepared. 'Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four hours sharpening my axe' is how I believe the quote goes."

"Lincoln was a smart guy" Drystan stated.

Barbara was staying silent and just listened as Drystan kept talking to her.

Drystan knew that she was just being patient and and letting him stroke his ego, bragging about how good he was to figure her out while waiting for someone to show up and help her. He was okay with that and was willing to blaber on until someone is here to make her feel safe.

He did just intrude on what she considered to be her literal safe space after all, and didn't want her to feel more threatened.

After about 5 more minutes of him talking without any input from Barbara he heard someone trying to sneak behind him.

As soon as the person behind him got close enough Drystan quickly turned around and grabbed the person behind hims arm and performed a judo throw on them.

After the person hit the ground Drystan without hesitation punched the downed person in the face knocking them out.

"Ah shit" Drystan cursed out loud after knocking the person out directly.

His plan was for this punch to daze the person and give him a chance to tie them up while they are weak, but he even though he held back his strength and skill, the person immediately went lights out.

He wanted the heroes to know that he was strong but he didn't want them to dislike him because he beat them up.

Kneeling down he got a better look at the person he just knocked out and started swearing at himself because the person beneath him is Gotham's boy wonder, Robin himself.

He started to panic slightly in his head as he thought it would be one of the girls that Barbara's been working with and not Batmans fucking apprentice.

After he calmed down he grabbed some rope that was conveniently lying around and started tying himself up.

While he was doing that Barbara gave him a weird look and finally broke her silence and with a small tilt of the head asked "What are you doing?"

Drystan while still tying himself up answered "I am hoping that if im already tied up and defenseless when he gets here Batman won't beat me up to avenge his apprentice." with a serious tone of voice.

He was actually caught off guard by the boy wonders appearance so he decided to adopt a different slightly more comical plan of action.

Barbara seeing the serious look in his eyes started laughing finally realizing the Drystan didn't show up to cause trouble but just because he realized that she was the Oracle.

"He won't beat you up, in fact he is more likely to punish robin by increasing his training because he got knocked out so easily." she said while fighting through a giggle.

"Who got knocked out easily?" a grim voice questioned behind him.

Drystan nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard the voice.

He didn't think anybody could sneak up on him anymore but apparently his awareness was still to low.

Turning around Drystan finally got to see the face of the only person in Gotham that he believed could sneak up on him.

Batman was here in the flesh, majorly violating his personal space by being so close to him that Drystan thought could lean over and give him a smooch if he really wanted to.

"uh... Im a big fan?" was all he could manage to say.
