1 Returning to Home

"You're really something else. You left without any news for three whole years and you're back now?" Jiang Yan sneered and said coldly.

Su Jian knew that she was to blame and replied flatteringly, "I know I was wrong. Didn't I contact you as soon as I returned to the country? Don't be angry, Yan Yan…"

She looked at Jiang Yan carefully and fawningly, her face exquisite and beautiful. Just one look into her eye and one would be able to be sucked into her soul, her eyes were filled with love.

Jiang Yan pursed her lips and got a little softhearted towards Su Jian. However, as she recalled how she had left without saying goodbye for three years, Jiang Yan's expression turned cold again, "Do you know how Zhou Lu has been through these past few years?"

Su Jian tightened her grip on the wine glass and said casually, "I have nothing to do with him anymore."

Jiang Yan frowned slightly and asked, "Are you really ready to let him go?"

Su Jian smiled, "Of course. You have no idea how attractive men are overseas. With blonde hair, blue eyes, good physique. If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't even remember Zhou Lui…"

Jiang Yan's expression suddenly changed as he was looking in the far distance of Su Jian's back. 

Su Jian had a bad premonition. Before she could turn around, she felt an extremely strong pressure.

The man sat down beside her. A familiar cedar fragrance wafted into her nose, mixed with a faint smell of tobacco.

When did he start smoking?

At that moment, Su Jian's blood seemed to have frozen and her limbs were so stiff that she couldn't move. She lowered her head subconsciously and the hair behind her ears covered half of her face.

Zhou Lu did not seem to notice her and greeted Jiang Yan with his usual expression. "You're here for a drink?"

Jiang Yan grunted and said calmly, "Doctor Zhou, aren't you too busy to be coming to a bar?"

Zhou Lu was the head of the First People's Hospital and was an associate chief physician at a young age. He was usually so busy that he did not even have the time to eat, but that did not stop him from having women by his side at all times. 

"I come here from time to time." Zhou Lu replied indifferently and did not seem to notice Su Jian at the side. 

Su Jian felt as if she was sitting on pins and needles and she was not sure if Zhou Lu had recognized her. She was so embarrassed she wanted to escape from the situation. However, even if she wanted to, there was no way as Zhou Lu was blocking the exit. 

Before they could finish their conversation, Zhou Lu looked into the distance and his cold face softened, tone softened, "Sorry, my girlfriend is here. I'll be leaving first."

After he walked away, Su Jian slowly looked up and saw a young lady brazenly pouncing on Zhou Lu. She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned into his embrace coquettishly. Zhou Lu was doting on her as he tidied her hair. The two of them looked extremely intimate. One look and one could tell that they were a couple in love.

The little girl looked to be in her twenties. Her face was small and delicate, and when she smiled, she looked charming.

Su Jian averted her gaze and took a sip of wine without changing her expression.

Jiang Yan seemed to be able to sense what was going on and asked Su Jian, "Are you heartbroken?"

Su Jian smiled, "I broke up with him three years ago. Isn't it normal for him to find a girlfriend? What's there to be sad about?"

"Was that really a normal breakup?"

"Yan Yan, that's all in the past. Can we not talk about it?" Su Jian was still smiling.

However, Jiang Yan saw a trace of sadness in her eyes and could not bear to mention it again.

"You're paying tonight," she said.

Su Jian smiled knowing that Jiang Yan had finally forgiven her, "Of course. Order whatever you want to drink. It's my treat."

When she looked over, Zhou Lu and her little girlfriend had already left.

Su Jian drank too much, probably because she was happy to return to her hometown. She couldn't even remember how she left the bar.

However, she had a dream she felt shame about. In the dream, she and Zhou Lu were deeply in love, doing some dirty things. 

When she woke up the next day, Su Jian was completely dumbfounded.
