1 Prologue

Mr Bang Si Hyuk, still in his night gown robe, is sitting on the red velvet sofa in the living room of his cottage villa, situating at the edge of the city of Seoul, which is not a very crowded place but decorated with many rich luxurious houses.

It is around 10 am.The sun is shining outside. Summer scent is everywhere. And he is enjoying his morning coffee that his servant, Tae Suk has made him for. 

"Umm.... such a beautiful weather!!" he exclaims..... looking through from the big tall glass window into the green garden outside.

Then, he picks up the photo stand from small circle table besides his sofa. The photo shows him and his only daughter hugging, Bang Seungwan....but he has nicknamed her.."Wendy". 

At that moment, Tae Suk, the servant, just come inside to take his mop he has left behind, forgotten...after he has clean up the room in the early morning. This has never happened before. 

"My daughter is 25 now...but she has never even has one boyfriend or use to...."

Bang Si Hyuk is saying...

"I'm getting old now...and has lots of haters...!!..

but I just want someone to look after my daughter especially after I'm gone..."

The servant Tae Suk look up to his master with the mop in his hand.

"Ummm...Master, are you talking about Miss Seungwan getting married to somebody of trustworthy?"

Mr Bang Si Hyuk nods.

Tae Suk continues..."Miss Seungwan is such a beautiful lady!!...And I am sure there are a plentiful of fine young men of status who are interested in her!!.."

Tae Suk is quiet for a moment... then he chuckles his pump face....and continue his saying...

"but being a daughter of such a vicious money loaner ...no fine eligible man would even dare to ask her out..and when they do come ..they come for her money.. Mistress Seungwan knows that.." Tae Suk starts to shake his head .."such a bad luck of hers to have such as a father..poor lady!!"

Mr Bang sighs and says..."ahhh.. Yes..yes...it is such her bad luck for having me as father indeed...."...then his mood changes to opposite and his face is now red... turning to Tae Suk...."WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!...who are you to tell me... being such a bad father...I would have given my life for my daughter..."

Tae Suk is a bit frightened now..and he just turn his face away.... still chuckling a little though.

Mr Bang continues to talk. There is an evil smile on his face. He is remembering something.

"Well, maybe...Mr Jung would keep up his promise ...he made 30 years ago...I heard he has a son called Jung Hoseok..!!"

"Mr Jung...?..Is it your old friend from College?"

Mr Bang nods.

Mr Bang is a money loaner for many successful businessmen...He is well known for his forceful method in getting back the money he had lend with great deal of interest too... in which he become such a rich man. His wife has died long time ago, leaving him a beautiful good mannered daughter, Seungwan or Wendy. Although, Mr Bang is not so clean with his business in many cases, he rises his own daughter as a good well manner and kind lady with good morals.

In his younger days..Bang Si Hyuk wasn't even interested in doing business. He is more interested arts such as painting and music...and literature. But when his parents died and most of his family farm has been taken by the ones who lend the money to farmers, his parents. Since, then fate has somehow made him to persue the career he thought he hated most...but for survival he had done well out of it.

Tae Suk is a family servant since Mrs Bang Si Hyuk is still alive. Tae Suk is very loyal and loves his master with life no matter what the world talks about him. Bang Si Hyuk indeed is very kind to Tae Suk and his family, Tae Suk's wife, two sons and his parents. Bang Si Hyuk support Tae Suk a lot then.

This luxurious vintage villa is Mr Bang Si Hyuk private house for taking rest. For this summer holiday, he has taken only one servant with him...his most trusted Tae Suk.

Bang Si Hyuk is not so happy about his job of course..but those who borrow money from him and not given back the money needs some punishment too..and he has done nothing wrong...he just make the pay back by public rules...(if one cannot pay back...he did take their houses and lands).. and Nope!!...not all those his little victims are innocent...some of them running away from the money they have borrowed..

But he is worried about his only daughter. He does not want her to continue the job. Yes..he wants her to tie to another family name better than himself.

Mr Jung Ji Wook is his best friend from young days. The two love each other and had promised that when they have children of different genders, they will make the kids married so their families can become related. Mr Jung Ji Wook is a respectable man in city. He has done so many good things to public as a past official mayor or the city of Seoul. He is not as rich as Mr Bang Si Hyuk..He has two children one girl and one boy.. Jung Yoona and Jung Hoseok...Mr Jung Ji Wook is a moralistic man...but as the two beloved friend has taken different path in life, will he be keeping his promise to his best friend from old days...?Will he want his son to marry such a vicious money lender's daughter?

At that very time..Wendy is enjoying her summer at Jeju, a famous island in South Korea.
