Dawn of the Dinosaurs , Chapter 2 : Exploring the lands

The 'Triassic period' is the first period of the 'Mesozoic Era' and also the shortest at only about '50.6 million years' and were divided into three groups as the 'Early Triassic' ,the 'Middle Triassic' and the 'Late Triassic' periods.

Now ,dinosaurs first appeared in the 'Late Triassic' but they only started to dominate when the 'Jurassic period' came.

During the Triassic period ,almost all the land mass of the Earth pulled in together ,concentrated and formed one big supercontinent called the 'Pangaea'.

The supercontinent started drifting during the Late Triassic period.

[Fact : The climate in the 'Triassic period' was mostly hot and dry.]

The Jurassic period ,the most famous era of the Prehistoric Age most widely known for its breathtaking environments and lets not forget the main reason we are here and that is the dinosaurs.

There were two types of dinosaurs ,the first one being Avian dinosaurs and the second one being non- Avian dinosaurs.

The Avian dinosaurs ,that is, now birds , of course had the ability to fly and they comprised the last living group of theropod dinosaurs and although the T-rex can't fly ,it is closely related to a modern day chicken which is of course a bird rather than a reptile which is regarded to be the closest animal species to the dinosaurs.
