10 Chapter 8 First Holder III - Today wasn't a Bad Day After All

The moon was starting to shed its light through the branches, only giving Haru faint light to see in the darkness of the woods. It's already been days since he entered this forest. A normal person would be scared being in the middle of the forest not knowing where to go but he was used to it. He put his bag on the log near him then gathered some wood for him to build a fire. Putting them on the ground as he grabbed his flint in his bag and started to rub it together until a smoke was starting to show and then a fire, litting the woods on the ground. He took a small break beside the fire, it helped him forget the cold tenebrific night. Though it didn't take too long for him to continue moving, he needed to get out as soon as possible. He got some wood then put it near the fire, making himself a torch then with his bag on his back he started walking, leaving the fire behind.

Walking in a continuous straight line with the sound of the owls howling filling his ears. He was holding a diary he kept to fill his everyday events so in case he dies, he can leave something in this world that will be his sole remembrance. Brushing off the branches that was on his way, he heard a sound that was different, it was the sound of the leaves brushing to something, it's like the sound he was making. He knew what to do, he kept his mind calm and slowly lowered his body, already prepared for a surprise attack. Each step he was making, the louder the sound he was hearing and when he was close, he got his knife out and was ready to stab until a loud voice startled him. A woman jumped on him, losing his balance as he fell.

"You're mine, you stupid-looking ghost!" she shouted.

He fell on the ground and as he was starting to get up, he felt some warmth behind him, it was a fire. The torch fell to the tree immediately putting it on fire. It spread in high speeds since the trees were all close to each other and moments later the entire forest was already getting burned. Fortunately, they somehow made it out just in time. Aki always go to the forest so she knows where is the nearest exits. Sweat was all over their body as they were catching their breath. They looked at the forest for a while, everything was on fire. Loud noises was coming from the side of the forest, it was the villagers who were doing their best to save the forest but it was already too late, buckets of water can't save the whole forest on fire. They started walking stealthily as they were heading to Aki's house, they knew that it will be a huge problem once they find out what happened.

Within the crowd was Kaito and Kirumi, Kaito was busy helping the others kill the fire while Kirumi was just behind the crowd waiting for them to be finished. She doesn't want to help as she's not interested at all, she forcing his brother to already go home.

"Kaito, let's go back already! They can do this alone!" she insisted

"I need to help them, Kirumi. Why don't you just help out too so we finish things faster" he argued

Tsk, there's no saving it anyway, she thought. She got pissed so she walked away from the crowd noticing Aki with a man. Who's that with her? She asked herself as she followed them from where they were going. They went inside Aki's house but she still didn't leave them alone, walking to the door putting her head beside it, she heard them talking.

"I was just trying to survive in the forest but now you ended up burning it" a voice of a man can be heard inside.

"Hey what do you mean by me?! You're the one whose torch started everything!" Aki was shouting at him, looks like they were arguing.

They continued their conversation but Kirumi already decided to leave. With a huge grin on her face she said,

"Today wasn't a bad day after all"
