8 Chapter 6 First Holder I - Not So Mary Sue

Hundreds of years ago, there was a small village behind the mountains, hiding its existence to the outside world. The village was small and simple yet the people were satisfied, after all, that's the life they always wanted. Since they were hidden, they didn't believe that there will be any threats. They were living the simple life not caring about weaponries or education.

One of the villagers was Aki, a charming lady that was recognized by everyone. Her alluring beauty along with her graceful personality easily made her loveable to the other townsmen. She already have received countless love letters and they started to grow each day, but no matter how many letters they send, she continued refusing each one of it. The thought of it hasn't crossed into her mind, the only thing she was interested was magic. Behind her beauty lies the part of her that no one ever knew. She's an oddball when she's alone and start reading books about magic. In fact, her obsession was so over the top that her house is full of magic books, symbols and mysterious writing on the wall. Her lack of knowledge made her easily believe in the supernatural. The moment she see something unusual, she'll believe that it's the work of magic.

There was one time when she screamed in her house when she saw something glowing in the forest, the forest was just behind her house so she sometimes look at it and expect something supernatural appear. The villagers immediately went into her house with their torches with them, it was already dark when they heard her scream. Worried about them seeing the interior of her house, she immediately flew outside her house blocking them from getting inside. Brushing them off by telling them that a bird surprised her when it entered from the window. Kaito, one of her suitors and the one who heard the scream first was still insisting to come in, he was curious to see the house of the one she courts but no matter how eager he was, she still didn't let him. Closing her doors as they've started going back to their homes, she jumped to her bed and made a huge sigh, relieving her worries. Was it really just my imagination? She asked herself. While she was laying on her bed, Kaito, on the other hand is seating in front of her house, seemingly down. Why won't she give me a chance, I'm not even ugly. I always show her how much I love her but.. Why? He was talking to himself, unaware that someone behind the shadows is watching him.

The next day, Aki had went out to the village market to buy some food. On her way to the market, she met up with Kaito with a girl clinging in his arm. I knew this bastard was up to no good! She thought. He immediately knew what she was thinking, it's pretty obvious cause her face was showing it all.

"H-hey, this is not what you're thinking! This is my sister Kirumi, she rarely goes outside that's why some people also mistaken her as my lover" he explained.

She looked at her sister, Kirumi and noticed that her face was blushing red. Incest is wincest, huh? She thought.

"I wasn't thinking about who your lover is! So if you can excuse me, Im leaving!" she was a little bit embarassed when she said that. Not being humble sometimes is great, she thought. She started walking as if she never met them but before she passed them, she saw the glaring eyes of Kirumi. Woah, those eyes can kill, creepy. She thought.

She continued walking until she got to the village market. Looking at the stalls, carefully picking some vegetables for her soup that she'll make this evening.

"Umm, can I ask how much is this carrot?" she asked while she's looking at the carrot on her hand, making sure that there were no marks of spoilage.

"Oh my, it's the ever wonderful Aki my dear! Since it's you, you can have this for free honey." she was delighted when she heard those words from the man.

"Thank you very much!" she greeted his kindness with a big smile. Yes! Perks of being beautiful! She thought. She was making her way down to her home until she heard the two women's conversation.

"Did you know, the forest beside this village is hunted!" said by the lady, immediately catching the attention of Aki. She slowed down her walking and listened to them for more.

"Really?! I've never heard of such things about the forest" the other woman said.

"Well, this is quite new so you probably haven't heard about it. Do you know that old farmer down the edge of the village? His wife told me that he saw some light coming from the forest!" she said.

Aki remembered what happened from the night before and she just can't hide her happiness only to her thoughts. It's true!! She said to herself, she stopped prying on their conversation as she haste down to her house.

I know what I'm going to do tonight!
