10 Tale

"A blind beast grabbed a hold of my son, tore his arm off.", responded Bloodmaw as he looked to his two sons.

Swiftscale frowned upon hearing the news, "Was it like the one that attacked before?"

Bloodmaw scoffed with his eyes closed, "Yes, them beasts are the ones that I despise the most. They always go after my sons, no doubt they do that to other rex families."

Lesion trying to act tough snorted loudly, "Next time I will kill them!"

Jr grinned, "I'll stomp on them and everyone I see!"

Bloodmaw smirked looking at his two sons, "You will grow up before you know it."

Swiftscale smiled at them, "Lesion and Jr will be great behemoths one day."

Scarface looked at Swiftscale and Bloodmaw with a smile, it was good to see them getting along. Every second that has passed, he was starting to see them differently. They were a good group, and he was glad to be apart of them.

The old clan would have to be forgotten, he now had to think about this clan. This was his group now, and he was confident that they all could survive together.

Scarface felt like things were looking up for him and his two comrades. Going through a rough time eventually paid off for them. However, that rogue was always on his mind. He had a clan now, and that meant that they may encounter him again.

It was inevitable that they would meet again, after all once a problem always a problem.

Gambit walked over to Scarface, his hands held a collection of herbs. A thought always seemed to pop up in his mind. What kind of life did Gambit have?

Scarface looked at Gambit and merely asked, "Hey Gambit?"

Gambit looked at him, his posture was straight and balanced. "Hm?"

"What kind of lifestyle did you have?", asked Scarface looking at him.

Gambit blinked before looking down, "..."

Scarface took notice of his reaction that he regretted asking. "You don't have to say."

Gambit shook his head, "My life was tough. I had always been a loner. Surprising coming from a raptor, but due to my skill and intelligence that attracted many to follow me...."

Scarface was silent as he listened. There was more to a person than just looks. In a world like this one, everyone survived differently than others. While you are surviving, you tend to hurt more than one person.

"I took a gamble on more than a persons life, I honestly didn't care about them. I led a pack, it was small but it was a pack none the less. Those that followed me listened to me, while I didn't care for them. I got a lot of them killed, while I almost died myself...", Gambit looked away with his eyes heavy with regret. "They all died because of me, by the time I realized it..."

Scarface frowned staring at him, his eyes slowly looked down. "Is that why you are so determined to help me? You couldn't bare another death..?"

Gambit looked at him as he nodded, "I couldn't leave you alone to die. If I did I would not be able to live with myself..."

Scarface looked at him as he smiled, "Thank you. Really, I mean that."

Gambit shrugged with a light smile, "Whatever, when you fully heal up you owe me one."

Gambit was a good fellow, at first it was hard to determine if he was good but he was. The raptor had a hard past, from the sounds of it he cared about himself and that was all. When many followed him and ended up dying, did it open his eyes to the importance of life. That experience made Gambit change his ways, and for the better from the sounds of it.

Judging was a bad thing, you don't know what that individual went through. Devastate disliked raptors cause they done him wrong a long time ago. Scarface looked at raptors differently for all of them were not the same. He was actually glad to have Gambit with him, he owed him his life.

Swiftscale looked at the youngsters as he smiled, of course his words made them happy. "When you get bigger I'll show you how to stomp."

Bloodmaw smirked, "Bodyguard and a tutor, I found a good one."

Swiftscale blinked and looked away lightly due to his shyness, Lesion and Jr on the other hand became excited.

"I wanna be bigger now!?!", squeaked Jr.

"Man, why can't you teach us now!", huffed a impatient Lesion.

Swiftscale looked at them and he smiled, "Hey, enjoy your youth when you have it! Besides, you can practice on lizards or frogs!"

At his words the two youngsters silenced only to become more hyper as they ran off to find prey that they could stomp. Swiftscale of course got up and followed them all the while chuckling.

Bloodmaw smirked watching them he then shifted his gaze to Scarface and Gambit as he approached. Scarface looked over at Bloodmaw and he nodded to him, Gambit blinked looking up curiously.

"You feel better?", asked Bloodmaw.

"I feel better than I did.", replied Scarface with a smile. "Thank you for everything."

Bloodmaw scoffed out a chuckle, "No need for the thanks."

Gambit watched the behemoth look to him, "You are pretty sharp on knowledge."

"Yeah, well being smart can save you.", replied Gambit being respectful.

Bloodmaw nodded very much agreeing with that, "Strength and intelligence is what we need for us to survive, without it we are no better than the blind."

The rustling sounds emerged as Grim walked out with his massive back carrying two large blind hadrosaurids. Ebony walked out with a smile to a job well done.

Bloodmaw smirked nodding to them, "Good job."

With food caught, they would have enough energy to continue the journey to find a new home. Everything was needed in order to survive, without food or water one could not survive. Survival was a hard battle for some, while for others it was as easy as breathing.

The hours of darkness approached, the thick forestry was consumed in complete darkness. A bright luminous shine came from the moon above. Many haunting sounds filled the darkened air as blind carnivores went on the hunt.

Devastate returned from camp, he had gathered a few things for the raptor waiting for his return. As expected no one questioned the behemoth when he came and left. Baldur was within the camp and was enjoying his title as leader.

Each night many grow restless, which meant more were trying to run away from Baldur and his rules. It was a never ending cycle, for most got caught. The punishments were becoming more aggressive and brutal as each night comes.

Devastate witnessed another punishment tonight, a ceratosaurus was literally beaten to a bloody pulp. From what he gathered was that the ceratosaurus was trying to run away from Baldur. The callous bastard of course showed no remorse for her. She was killed for merely running away from him.

Fear was a powerful thing, but fear would always get someone killed. He felt bad for the ceratosaurus, he found himself feeling bad for everyone who tried to escape this hell.

Devastate looked at the nest when he was near and he smiled lightly at the raptor. She looked a little better. The behemoth went out to hunt just about everyday, of course he got hurt each time he went out. Herbs would not be given out unless you absolutely need them.

Devastate allowed himself to get knocked down hard by a herd, his left arm dangled due to him breaking it. Of course he didn't use that strong herb on him, he gave it to the raptor.

He hid the fact that it was broken from the raptor, and as such he laid on it to hide it from her. The raptors eyes came to life when she saw him. She slowly got up and limped to him, but she blinked looking at his arm.

"Eh, what happened to your arm?", she softly asked looking up at him.

That herb was powerful enough to be able to make the raptor walk around again. Devastate was glad that she was able to walk. "It's bruised don't worry about it.", he replied putting down food for her.

Her sapphire eyes became teary at his words, "Don't lie to me..."

Devastate looked at her his gaze slowly looked down as his body laid down next to the nest as the raptor came close to him.

Her tail was still unable to move due to it being broken, but her legs didn't seem to be. That herb helped ease the pain that she had suffered, and that was enough for him.

"Please tell me what happened...", spoke the raptor who softly placed her petite hand upon his face.

Devastate was so much bigger than her, but he was still very gentle with her. A large behemoth like him struggles to be gentle but with her it was not so hard.

"I hurt it when I was out. It is fine.", he replied looking at her.

The raptor kept her hand on him, her sapphire eyes shook with pain. "I don't want you to hurt."

Devastate looked at her, she was concerned for him. He didn't need her to feel like that for him, he could handle a little pain. His pain could never amount to the pain that she had went through.

"I'm alright really.", he gave her his best sincere smile. He hated to lie to her but he didn't want her worrying about him.

The raptor looked down at his words she looked at the food he brought for her. "Aren't you hungry?", she asked.

Devastate looked to where she was looking, "No."

The raptor looked at him, her eyes slowly became wet with tears. "..."

Devastate blinked noticing these tears, his gaze became hazy. "Don't cry."

She shook her head, her hands touched him softly as she placed her head against his much larger nose. "I can't help it. I don't want you to hurt or suffer! You have done so much for me that I...!"

Devastate felt that burning in the back of his throat again, his eyes closed as he tried to calm himself down. Why did she do this to him? She shouldn't worry about him at all! Having her do this to him didn't make sense. She must of known that this was his fault right, so then why?

"Tell me your name.", he asked this when he opened his eyes.

She looked at him sobbing silently, "My name is Belle..."

Devastate smiled lightly toward her, "Belle, I need you to understand that this was my fault."

Belle blinked when he spoke she shook her head which confused him. "It is not your fault."

Her petite hands remained on him as she smiled to him, though her eyes still had tears. "I don't think it is. To blame yourself makes me feel all that more bad for you. I don't want you to blame yourself. You saved me, you're taking care of me."

Devastate was silent, he was so flustered.

Belle softly placed her head against him again, "You are my savior, I could never blame you for anything."

"...!", her words about broke him again. Devastate closed his eyes as he huffed out. "Don't."

Belle repeated her words, "I don't blame you."

Devastate slowly lifted his massive head, he stopped when Belle clung on. "..!"

Belle smiled through the tears she shed, she had jumped onto his nose when he was about to move away. "I don't blame you, I could never do that."

Devastate swallowed his words he lowered his head so that Belle didn't have to hold onto him. As he did this he was unaware of the tears starting to appear and fall from his own eyes. Belle softly got off as she petted his nose, "I don't want you to face off against the world alone. I am here too."

Devastate lightly nodded, he didn't know why she did this but he didn't feel as alone anymore. Belle was truly to pure for this horrible place, this just made his commitment all the more stronger to keep her safe.

"You are something special...", spoke the behemoth who now noticed he was crying. She could make him cry, no one could do that.

Belle softly smiled back in return, "You too."

Devastate gave a small smile, he looked to the food he brought for her. "I will half it with you."

Belle smiled happily, she blinked back her remaining tears, "Okay!"

Devastate watched her, that smile made him feel better. How he wished for her to smile always.
