12 Act: 3 Part: 3

David runs his hands through his hair, obviously nervous from what's in front of them. "I ain't got all day assholes..." the man says through the bullhorn. Cristine leans towards David, "I think we should do as he says..." David takes a deep breath, then turns to Jay, "Tell everyone to stay in the passenger cars, I'll handle this." Jay is about to reply, but David cuts him off, "I said I'll handle this." Jay hesitates, but nods and moves back to the passenger cars. Once Jay is gone David walks off the the engines platform and shows himself to the strangers. "What is it you want?" The man gives a smirk, seeming amused by the question. "You're not very bright, are ya? It's simple really, give us your stuff and we'll be on our merry little way." David pretends to think for a second then smirks. "I have a better idea. You can fuck off and leave us alone." The man laughs, obviously not taking David's words seriously. "I'm not that crazy about your idea, but I'm pretty sure I like mine a little better." The man looks around the train, "So how many are there of you exactly?" David keeps on his poker face, "Only me, you won't find anyone else." The man chuckles, "Well then that's fantastic, that means if my boys start poking around your train, that they won't meet any resistance, right?" David bites his tongue, talking around this guy isn't as easy as he was hoping. "Fine, it's just me and the conductor, that's it." The man taps his finger the bullhorn, "Nah, still ain't buyin' it fella." David rolls his eyes, "Fine damnit, me, the conductor, a pregnant lady, and a dog. We're traveling west, do you really need this train?" The man steps forward, "Listen here numb-nuts, me and my boys here have been fighting for everything we own since this shit started, we've killed people, both good and bad, but taking a train from y'all won't bother me on the slightest." David keeps his hands raised, he remembers the grenade he had found in his pocket, he shakes his head. "Is there no way we can talk this through? We need our supplies." The man scratches his head, "Y'know, you're the first to actually say that? Most immediately reach for their weapons and then we gotta kill em, so you know what? Why not? Let's cut a deal." The man steps a few feet forward, "I'm Mitch, and we'll let you pass through for about half of your supplies, now ain't that a deal or what?" David smirks, "Well I'm Captain Pissoff, and before we-"

Before David can fully talk his way out, the man standing behind Mitch suddenly jerks backwards, a bullet hole now engraved in his head. David looks back to see Gideon moving from the side of the train, his M4 in his hands. Before the rest of the men can react, David quickly reaches into his pocket and chucks the grenade at them. His aim is true as the grenade lands in the bed of one of the trucks. David then tackles Gideon to the ground. There must have been gasoline in the truck, because the moment the grenade went off, the whole area around the gangs bursts into and explosion of flames, men begin screaming but are cut short as bullets hit them. Mitch reaches for his holster but is cut short when a bullet goes straight through his finger, ripping it off, causing his to drop his gun and go to the ground. It's not long before the rest of Mitch's men are finished off, killed by David's group who decided not to listen to what Jay had told them. David stands up to see Mitch laying in the ground, holding his hand in pain, he walks forward and Mitch notices him. "You...you son of a bitch..." David stands above him, "I have a feeling we'll get along nicely." He then kicks Mitch in the head knocking him unconscious, David then bends over and catches his breath. After he calms himself down, he turns to see Jay waiting against the train. David calls him over, "What happened? I told you to tell everyone to stay in the passenger cars." Jay shakes head, "I did, but Gideon said he wasn't gonna sit around, he got everyone pumped up, and you can see the rest." David looks along everyone, eventually setting eyes on Gideon, he turns to Jay. "Tie this guy up, I gotta have a chat with Gideon..." David marches off as Jay gets to work.

Gideon notices David moving forward, "Ah, David, what would you do without-" before he can finish, David connect his fist to Gideon's jaw, knocking him to the ground. Everyone is stunned and backs away from the altercation. David moves forward while Gideon is still on the ground and grabs him by the collar, "I had Jay keep you all back there for a reason, you have no right to put these people in danger!" David is about to say more but Connor and Murphy move forward to pull him off. David resists them and gets from their graps, everyone back on the train, now." Not wanting to anger their leader everyone boards the train, now wondering if listening to Gideon was such a good idea...

A throbbing pain comes to Mitch's head as he looks up, the light stinging his eyes while in the train car. Around him are tables and a bar, "What the hell..." He then hears footsteps and sees David's face, "What would you like to order?" Mitch fights against his restraints, "Where am I?" David takes a sip from a bottle that he carries in his hand. "Where do you think shit brain." Mitch looks around eventually notices the pane window revealing the tree line zooming past. "Ah...and where are we going?" David rubs his bruised knuckles, "Supposed to be Oklahoma." Mitch stares blankly at David, "Why ain't I dead?" David looks back to him, "Because what's the point of saving the world if everyone in it is dead." Mitch's eyes widen, "Saving the world? What are you talkin' about?" David explains the groups goal, yet again not leaving anything out. Mitch leans back in his seat, "I hear alot of horse shit... but if I had known, I would have let y'all through no problems." David nods, "That's what I was hoping, but you can see what happened."

"So where are we know then?"

"Somwhere in Arkansas."

Just before Mitch can ask something else, a voice towards the front of the car bursts from the speaker. "David, I need you to hurry to the front of the train." David leaves the bottle and moves to the front. He walks through two more cars before reaching the engine. He sees Cristine in her usual spot, "What's the scoop?" She doesn't take her eyes off of the tracks as she traces a line on the map close by, "I've been checking the maps, and with our schedule, we'll have to stop right on the edge of Oklahoma." David nods and thanks her exiting the to the passenger car to see AJ. "What's the rush gorgeous?" AJ grabs his arm and pulls him along, "Its Lily, her waters broke!"
