206 Chapter 206

Oh.

I almost forgot the other reason why Hezekiah left her clan and her family behind and decided to come to the human side.

McClare.

Those people have really made a lot of enemies and are still making a lot more if I know.

I gave Hezekiah an understanding nod.

"I'll make sure you meet him." I reasured her before turning to Sebastiene. "Seb, I will be busy tomorrow so cancel everything on my schedule and have them rescheduled."

"Yes, my lady." He answered.

After giving some more instructions, I ended the meeting and went to see my second sister.

Uriel was in her study, which was unusual as she was not the type to stay cooped up in a room. She is what people would call, free spirited or a social butterfly, always to be surrounded by people and fawned over. Unlike me and Athy, we both are not fond of being around too many people especially being fawned by others.

It actually gives us the creeps when people who we are not familiar with or close to, starts to act too friendly or fawn over us. I would normally be cordial and respectful as long as the other party does not cross the line. Athy, on the other hand, would not give a damn and leave the other person. Some would call it rude or disrespectful but what can they do to a mere child, much more a Castellan?

The disparity of personality among us sisters can be as vast as the seas.

" You busy sis?" I asked as I walked towards her table.

"Just making some last notes on the dresses I ordered." She replied without looking up at me.

"Hmmm.." I nodded and picked up a piece of paper that was on stacked on the table. It was a drawing of a dress, a ball gown to be exact, with notes and arrows pointing on different parts of the dress. My mouth twitched a little before I asked her. "Did you design this?"

"Yes." She nodded and looked up to face me. "Is there something you don't like about it?"

"Not really.." I looked at her awkwardly. "But do you really think it is appropriate for me to wear a backless dress?"

The ball gown Uriel designed was indeed pretty but on the back, there was barely anything and in this world, an unmarried woman who shows her body is seen as an unclean woman. It is as good as going out naked.

Uriel scrunched her eyebrows, showing a weird look.

"That is not for you." She said. "That is for mom."

"Oh." I placed the design back on the table and sat down across Uriel. "I'm going to the capital soon."

"Make sure not to get caught up in the current situation there with the nobles." She said tapping her finger on the table as she was thinking. "Don't be too close with any of the prices as they are already starting to build their backing."

As I thought, the power struggle among the princes will soon start. The social debut at the palace is just an excuse for the first prince to find a wife with a strong backing.

"Is there a strong candidate?" I asked her.

"First prince." She answered. "He only needs to be engaged to someone with a strong backing."

She paused for a moment before continuing. "Though he really does not need the backing that much as he already has three Marquis house behind him and most heirs from lower noble houses are in his circle."

A very strong standing indeed.

"If that is so, why would there be any struggles?" I asked. "With the amount of backing he has, the crown is already in his hands right?"

Uriel smirked.

"There's us, remember?"

Of course.

House Castellan is the only house who could tip off that power and backing. If we disagree with who the next King is, no one would go against us.

She passed a paper to me with my name on top and a dress design.

"What do yoi think of this dress?" She asked eagerly.

It was a royal blue off shoulder ball gown with gems.

"It looks great!" I answered. "Just take out the huge ribbon at the back. I don't want to look like a gift box."

She rolled her eyes at me.

"Are they still wary of us after what Athy did?" I asked her.

She smirked.

Ahhhh.. I see.

"So besides the current royal family. Is there anyone else worthy of the crown? Any strong competitors?" I asked her as she is the only one who has a grasp of the current power within the nobility.

Uriel's smile grew wider.
