4 Chapter 4: Meeting Andrew

After a few hours of careful consideration of the perfect outfit, Luna decides on a beautiful midnight blue gown that matches her eyes to perfection with little silver glitter accents that seem to glow like the stars in the night sky. Everything seemed too good to be true, that is until she realized that she didn't seem to have a single suitable pair of shoes to wear.

Searching around for a pair Luna finds a small box wrapped in paper in the color of the moon's light with a note that reads, 'I thought that these might look as amazing on you as they did during my first ball.' Opening the box Luna sees a gorgeous pair of short heels, the same silvery color as the paper they had been wrapped in, with a light silver-blue crescent moon on either side of the pair. "They're perfect" Luna whispers, afraid that if she were to speak too loud that they might just disappear into the air. Looking at the clock she realizes that if she doesn't begin getting ready now that she'll be late to the ball.

"Luna, are you almost ready to go?" Solis yells back a couple of hours later.

"I'll be ready in just a few more minutes!!!" Luna yells back, finishing her makeup with the perfect pink tinted lipstick. About to leave her room she turns and looks at herself in the full-length mirror she had opposite to her door. "Should I honestly be going to an event like this? What happens if I'm not prepared? What if even my best is still too underdressed?"

"Nonsense mi hija," Solis says in a whisper.

Luna squeals, not expecting Solis to be behind her. "Don't sneak up on me!! I said that I would be out in a few minutes!!!!"

"Lo Siento mi hija but that's what you said a few hours ago and if we don't leave in the next…", Solis pauses to look at his watch, "... I would say 3 minutes, then we'll be late and we wouldn't want that now would we?"

"No, I guess not but should I be going to a ball? I mean don't even know how to dance."

"It may be a ball but that doesn't mean that you have to dance," Solis tells Luna, trying to convince her to go to her ball without letting anything slip too soon.

"But Solis, what happens if I'm the only one not dancing?" Luna says sitting on the edge of her bed.

Checking his watch again before sitting next to Luna. "Chica, I know for a fact that Andrew wouldn't let you be the only one doing anything."

Luna sighs, "And you know this little fact how?"

"Mi hija, just trust me. I used to know Andrew and he wouldn't let someone embarrass themselves alone." Solis tells Luna after pausing and thinking about his past.

Tilting her head slightly to the right Luna looks at her uncle with clear confusion written on her face. "How did you know Andrew?" Luna asks her uncle out of curiosity.

"That, my dear, is a story for another time. Maybe a time when we have more time." Solis says smirking while tapping the face on his watch. "If we don't get going now then the bell of the ball won't be there on time. Plus you're already too fashionable to pull off fashionably late." Solid adds causing Luna to blush deeply.

Walking outside together Luna sees a beautiful white limo waiting for her. "Looks like your rides here," Solis says, attempting to get Luna moving rather than gawking. Slightly pushing her forward, "Luna, you have to get going or you will be late and we can't have that."

"Right," Luna replies while still staring at the beautiful vehicle that Andrew had obtained for her. She was, after all, a princess, no matter if she knew that little fact or not.

"Luna, if you don't get into the vehicle then you'll never get to the ball," Solis says guiding Luna to the car.

Climbing into the car Luna looks back at her uncle trying to see if he truelythought that this was a good idea or not. Deciding that she should be going she shuts the door and the car drives off with her inside.

Arriving at the ball Luna sees the mansion of a house. "Wow, this can't be the right address." Getting out, walking up the grand outer staircase, and into the house. Walking into the grand ballroom she looks around and spots the same young stranger that had dropped off her invitation to the ball and as soon as he turns around all his glory hits her. He's tall with dark hair, skin that is golden brown and so out of character for one of his kind, and blazing gold eyes that are complete opposites to her own. They slowly approach each other without breaking eye contact.

Reaching the very center of the ballroom he is the first one to break the silence that stands between them, "I am Andrew, Son of the Dutchess, and it would be a great honor if you would dance with me."
