2 Chapter 2: Feeling Lost

Letting her uncle guide her into the house she reflects on the events that just occurred. Not knowing what to think of any of this confusion fills her mind. "Lulu? Come back to me sweetheart," a voice says, penetrating her jumbled thoughts. "You need to eat, come on I made your favorite," the voice continues even though she's still mentally drifting, not exactly anywhere.

"Luna, you must return to him." a comfortingly familiar feminine voice says.

"But what if I don't want to? What if I wish to stay here forever?" Luna asks the female voice.

"You must return to him my darling." The female voice urges.

"How?" Asks Luna.

"Focus dear. Focus on his voice. Think about Solis and do something for me when you get back."

"What?" She replies. "What do you want me to do for you?"

"Tell him that we're alive and watching."

"We who? How will he know who 'we' is?"

"Listen to me, darling. He'll know who the 'we' is. He'll know what to do next and you'll find out when your time comes. Until then just trust me."

"But how can I trust someone…"

"That you don't know? That's the thing. You do know me. I know that you recognize my voice, Luna. Just think. I love you both and I am watching and I will help guide you when I can. But for now, you have to return to Solis. Please!" The female voice pleads.

"Promise that you will tell me who you are eventually."

"I promise. I promise that all will be revealed soon Luna Usgiyi Mond. But you must go now! I love you, Second Moon."

"I will hold you to that once I know who you are," Luna replies as Solis' voice penetrates her mind again.

"Lulu, come back, please. I need you." He cries as Luna begins to mentally slip back into her body. Opening her eyes she sees her Uncle doubled over crying and muttering to himself about failing his brother.

"Did you honestly think you'd be able to get rid of me that easily?" Luna whispers jokingly. Causing Solis' head to snap up. Pulling her into his arms he cries while beginning to calm down. "She said to tell you 'We're alive and watching.'"

Pulling back while looking into his niece's eyes he asks, "She who?"

"I don't know who she is. But she said to tell you that they're alive and watching and that everything would be explained to me when my time came." Luna replies quickly. "She also said that you'd know who she was talking about. That and she called me Luna Usgiyi Mond as well as Second Moon. But I thought my name was Luna Secundi Mari."

"Luna, I have no idea what you're talking about. I think you should eat something and then go lie down and get some sleep."

"Oh, okay," Luna says sadly. She'd trusted this voice after all.

"Here. I made some blueberry pancakes while you were zoning out." Solis says with a smile.

"Gracias Tio."

"De nada Sobrina. Now eat and then when you're done head to bed. I'll deal with the mess after." He says with a soft smile before leaving the room. Thinking about what the voice had told her Luna slowly eats. When she finishes she gets up and puts her plate in the sink trying to help her uncle when he goes to clean.

Heading to her room thoughts of the voice and the figure on the cliffs flashed through her mind at the speed of light. Questions about whose voice it was, who was the silhouette on the cliffs, why her uncle didn't know what the voice was talking about when it said that he would, Why the silhouette disappeared the instant before light touched it? Shaking her head as if to shake the thoughts from it she walks into her room and lays down on her soft carpeted floor.

Laying on her silver-blue carpet staring at her equally blue ceiling, dwelling on the figure she saw just hours earlier. "What is it? It can't be human, can it?" She whispers to herself almost silently. "No, it moves way too fast to be human. Doesn't it? I think it does anyway. I wouldn't exactly know though. I mean I've never exactly been up on top of those cliffs now hav…"

"Luna, can you come out here for a second," yells her uncle from somewhere towards the front of the house, effectively cutting her off and snapping her from her trance-like daze.

"Yea, I'm coming!" She yells as she gets up. Walking out of her room she notes that the short hallway is darker than it should be at this time of day and quickens her pace. Turning the corner into the front room she sees him.
