1 Chance?

Darkness.

Complete and utter darkness.

Law realized he was still conscious, but everything was black. He felt no pain. Well, to be honest, he felt nothing. His senses were gone. He could only think.

He remembered the moment of his death. It was a day like every other, go to school, leave school, maybe spend time with friends, and go home.

That specific day, he decided to go to his best friend's house. They did their homework, ate food, and played video games. At around 8pm it was starting to get dark, so after eating dinner with his friends family, he started walking home.

Luckily, he lived really close to his friend's, so all he had to do was walk a couple of blocks and cross an intersection and he would be home. A simple 7 minute walk.

On that day it became anything but simple.

He walked home like usual. As he got the walk sign at the crosswalk of the intersection he strolled across. As he was halfway to the other side, he heard the loud noise of a sports car speeding.

Following his ears, he looked to the side and saw a bright red sports car speeding towards the intersection, seemingly not going to stop. Law made the quick choice to yell at the driver and wave his hands trying to get it's attention. He wanted it to slow down, the speed limit here was 40 mph and the driver was clearly going 80+, Law didn't want anyone to get hurt.

He realized that the driver wasn't paying attention to the road, so as a last resort to not get hit, he started sprinting to the other side of the road, hoping to get out of the way.

But he underestimated the speed of the sports car. Before he could even get a grip on the situation, the car was upon him, and his world turned black.

And now, he found himself here, in nothingness.

After waiting for an indeterminate amount of time, a voice finally called out to him.

"Hello there little one, how are you feeling?" A mature, sultry, female voice called out to him.

Law nearly jumped out of his skin (if he had any). He was not expecting anything in this void of darkness.

"Pfft- No need to be surprised child" the voice laughed at his antics.

Law flashed a sheepish smile, "I-I'm sorry, I just wasn't expecting anyone else."

"That is quite alright. Now, I came to give you an offer"

Law tilted his head in confusion, "What kind of offer, I'm dead so I can't really do much anymore."

"My offer is to give you a new life in a new world, and all you have to do would be to complete the mission I give you"

"A new life? A mission? What would the mission be?" He questioned.

"Hmm, while I can't tell you mission yet, I can tell you about the world you would go to" the voice said.

"That's fine."

The voice then went on to explain to Law about the new world he would have a chance to live in. In a simple explanation, it was a fantasy world. Swords, magic, and monsters. The world is divided into four continents, Aeyura, Leshos, Olun, and Telos.

Aeyura is more commonly known as the human continent, there are 5 countries on the continent; Thurus Kingdom, Brator Empire, Kavia Kingdom, Pherian Union, and Yathia Theocracy.

The Thurus Kingdom and Brator Empire are long term enemies that have gone to war with each other tens of times over the last hundreds of years. They are both on the western end of the continent and border each other as well as the Pherian Union.

The Pherian Union is a collection of 3 former countries that have joined together to create the union. They are strong but mainly focus on trade, as they are based in the middle of the entire human continent, making them a large trade hub for anyone wishing to do trade across the 5 countries.

The Kavia Kingdom is the most peaceful of the 5 human countries. They have a peace treaty with their neighbors Brator Empire, Pherian Union, as well as the Yathia Theocracy. They have the highest concentration of educated citizens and mages, making them highly prosperous and they are often called the golden country for learning.

Lastly, there is the Yathia Theocracy. They are a religious country that believe in the Goddess Yathia. They are pro-human, anti-non-human. They believe that the Goddess Yathia put them in the world and gave them the objective of making the world fully human. They are highly discriminatory, and often have non-human slaves to do labor as well as other things.

Yathia Theocracy and Kavia Kingdom both are close to the other continents, so they have high navy and army strength in case of invasion.

The next continent is Leshos, often described as being the multi-racial continent. The continent is home to nearly all Demi-humans and dwarves, and also are home to some humans that decided to live somewhere other than Aeyura.

The continent contains two countries; Morith Kingdom and Mizar Alliance.

The Morith Kingdom is the kingdom of the dwarves. Situated in a massive mountain range spanning a majority of the continent, the country is home to the largest population of dwarves on the planet. They are known for their metalworking and magic tool creation, making them a prosperous country due to trade.

Mizar Alliance is the conglomeration of multiple demi-human countries. In the past, they were all seperate, but under the danger of invasion from the Yathia Theocracy, they banded together under one banner successfully creating the alliance. They are often called the line of defense against human invasion.

Next is the continent Olun. Most commonly known as the elven continent. The continent is very closed off. Travel to and from is strictly regulated, and many have to get a pass from the elven council to be able to visit the continent. No races other than elves are allowed to call the continent home, but that doesn't mean that they are discriminatory, they just value the sacredness of the forest as well as personal beauty, and see other races as being a danger to the balance between intelligent being and nature.

Lastly, the continent of Telos, known as the demon continent. Demons value personal strength above all else, so all demons live under the banner of the Demon Kingdom, which is ruled by the strongest member of the demon race, also known as the Demon King.

"Wow," was all Law could say. It was a lot to take in.

To him, it seemed like a hectic but fun world. It seemed like there was always something to do, so he was excited for his future prospects.

Law still had some questions though, "Umm... Can I ask a question?"

"Go ahead young one"

"Will I be reborn as a child? Also, where will I be born?"

"I see your concerns, you will not be reborn as a baby, you will still already able to walk and fight, I can't have you possibly dying before the mission is complete now can I?"

Law nodded at the response, it made sense. If this mission is as important as it sounds, the voice can't have the possibility of him dying before he can even walk.

"In response to the other question," the voice paused, "I apologize, but I cannot control where you start, there is a chance for you to start everywhere except the ocean."

Law pondered, this is definitely bad considering if he started in the Olun continent and he wasn't an elf.

"One last thing child, I will be giving you two extra abilities. While they aren't helpful in combat, they can help in other ways. I cannot aid you any more than this." The voice sounded saddened that it couldn't help more.

"No! You have helped plenty, just knowing the world background helped me a lot already!"

"So you accept?" The voice now sounded happier.

"Yes! I want another chance at life! I don't care if I have a mission, I will complete it!"

"That's the spirit! I will be sending you off now, I wish you good luck."

As soon as the voice said those words, Law's vision turned black and he left the void of nothingness.

As he was losing consciousness, he couldn't help but be excited, the next time he woke up he would be in a whole new world!
