7 Heart Ache

Sabera's Pov

"Cain? Where are we going?" I asked as I rode in the passenger seat of his car.

It had been so long seance I had been out of the house. Cain had really put me through the ringer with the training. All from defence to attack spells. Even a spell to communicate from long distances. It was fun, but still. Cain had woke me up this morning with chocolate chip pancakes. After breakfast, he told me to get dressed and get in the car.

Cain laughed at my excitement, "Out."

I scowled at him, "Oh come on Cain. Really where are we going?"

"You'll see in a second," he said pulling over the car, "We're here."

Before I could unbuckle my seatbelt, Cain was at my door. He held a hand out and I took it. I looked at my surroundings. We were at an amusement park. Jam packed with families and couples.

"No way!" I squealed.

Cain laughed, "Yes way. What do you want to do first. Today is all about you." He threw his arms up, emphasizing his words.

I looked around as we walked. There was everything from games to rollercoasters.

Grabbing his hand I raced to the biggest coaster I could find. And everyone after that.

After the coasters, we played dome games. Which I sucked at, but Cain won.

"What prize do you want?" he asked me.

I looked between the giant stuffed toys. One caught my eye, it was a huge panther.

"That one," I pointed to it.

Cain reached up and handed it to me. And then we were off again. We decided to leave about 9 o'clock.

Cain then took me out to the river, where we ate a picnic. We watched the stars and pointed out constellations.

"Cain." I said, "Thank you. I had fun today."

He smiles his goofy grin. He always did that when he knew I was happy. I rolled over to face him.

"I don't want to be a buzz kill, but why?" I asked.

He raised from the ground, running his hand threw his hair. I followed and placed my hand on his shoulder before he could start pacing. Cain often did things like this when he was upset.

I made him look at me, "What's wrong?"

Sighing he replied, "It's almost the end of the month."

That's right it's October. At the end of this month I'd be going to my father.

I took my hand off him, "You know I could stay here. With you."

"No!" he snapped, horror spreading across his face.

I snapped back, "And why not!? I'm sure my dad would understand. He could come here to visit, and we could be..."

He cut my off, "No, Sabera!"

I stiffened, "Why?! I know what I feel, Cain!"

He turned on me, "Because, I don't want you!"

I could feel the blood run from my face. Was I just imagining everything? His little peeks at me? His hugs? My whole world cracked.

"Sabera?" his face had softened and he reached for me.

But I slapped him away, and I ran as fast as I could.

Cain's POV

He watched as she ran away from him. Shock overtook Cain. What had he just done? Shaking it off, he chased after her. He only stopped when her footprints did. He turned in circles.

Cain called out, "Sabera?! Where are you?!"

No answer.

Tears fell from his eyes, but he didn't care. He had hurt her and he knew it. He deserved to feel this.

"Sabera!?" He called over and over, with no reply.

Thinking she may have went back to the car, Cain turned around. Only to stop. A foul, pungent odor filled his nose. A growl sprang from his throat.

"She's mine!" he screamed out to anything that could hear, "She is mine! Give her back!"

Rage rose and spread threw out his body and mind. Cain then caught Sabera's smell. Some seance came back to him.

"Don't worry baby. I'm coming," he whispered to her and took off in the direction he knew he'd find her.

Sabera's POV

I woke up with pain shooting threw my head. I kept my eyes closed. Cain had taught me to be careful when looking around. Some demons can kill you with one look.

"Aspectu," I spoke the word for sight.

I looked around me without opening my eyes. This spell was like wearing heat vision glasses. The room was small, with very little in it. A person was infront of me. Like two inches away from my face.

"Cain taught you well, young demoness," a mans voice reached my ears, "But you can open your eyes. I'm not one of those low life demons that use those nasty eye tricks."

I slowly opened my eyes. The man was kneeling in front of me. His hair was cut like a punk rockstar, and his eyes where green.

"You're a jackal," I said.

The man chuckled, "Smart girl." He raised his hands to himself, "I am Samuel Jackal, at your service."

I shivered when his breath reached me. "What do you want? Jackals normally eat thier prey where they find it," I asked.

He nodded, "Yes. But, you are not my prey." Sam waved his hand at the door, "You are more than welcome to leave. I just needed you to bring Cain out of hiding."

I asked, "Why? What did he do?"

Sam laughed, well cackled really, "He's just an old friend that owes me. You see, Cain stopped coming around about five to six months ago." He stood up and paced the room, "Then I catch you two at the park. I figured you were one of his meals. The type of demon he is, he'd never let someone steal from him."

"You don't know who I am?" I asked.

Sam eyed me, "Nope. But I do know you're a demon. If not, you couldn't do spells."

Cain had told me not to tell anyone who I was. It could get me killed. But something about the Jackal said I could trust him.

So I opened my mouth, "My names Sabera."

He raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, Cain screamed it as I ran off with you. How's your head by the way? I didn't hurt you to bad, did I?"

Without answering his questions, I finished my words, "Morningstar."

Sam started cackling like a real jackal, "Hell no. There is no way you are the princess of Hell. She died years ago, with her mother."

I stood while he continued to laugh. Cain had showed me how to tap into my genetics and grow, yep, wings. I felt the warmth in my back, as they started to show. I stripped my jacket. I often wear tank tops seance I moved in with Cain.

Sam gasped, "Oh My Mother Of God."
