38 I was practically in love with you

The sisterly affection was too cute, so I didn't take my eyes off them for a while. because of that, "hey, I hope you aren't seriously thinking about what that woman said, keep your hands off my sister!" Cait said with a pout, while she petted her sister.

"of course I won't take any other woman!" I replied as quickly as possible.

Phoebe's expression noticeably changed.

I coughed, pulling everyone back into reality "anyways, as you can see, I absolutely hate you people, and you guys don't even show an ounce of regret, so forgiving you is out of the question, all I can ask you to do is, give all you shares in your company to you children, split it evenly and I will let you keep your positions, what do you say, its a good offer right?"

'good offer my ass, that's practically threatening us!'

she sighed, 'but it's not like we can do anything else'

back to MC's POV:-

"Can we at least keep 50% of the shares we own?" asked Cait's mom with a straight face.

I grinned "are you even in a position to negotiate with me? if I want I can cut your supplies, your distribution, your retail practically everything which you don't solely own, will be cut off, you can say bye-bye to practically everything."

Mr stean practically fell down while, Mrs stean took a step back in fear.

"fine, we agree," she said with a cracking voice.

"good then, make the arrangements within 3 days, till that time I will be touring the town," I said as I waved and then walked out of the room. I looked up at the sky as if I had finally achieved a super cool exit.

But I looked back and realized that no one followed me.

After waiting for a while I had to go back and call them, apparently, they were preparing Cait's Lil sis's bags.

After a while, we left the Stean Estate and decided to rest in a hotel.

We got 3 separate rooms, Phoebe and Cait's Lil sis whose name was Ellis, each got a room while Cait and I decided to share a room.

After resting for a bit, alright I slept till it was 2 in the morning or night? I don't what you call it but it was 2 AM to be precise when I woke up.

Caitlin was also sleeping so I assumed that encounter took a toll on everyone mentally. I decided to give the private open-air swimming pool at the roof which was supposed to be only open to the VIPs.

I took a towel and rented out a pair of swimming trunks I was ready to take a past midnight swim.

But what I wasn't expecting was, a woman with blonde hair reaching her shoulders, was sitting completely naked at the edge of the swimming pool while moonlight lit her hair, her tears also glowed in the moonlight.

It was Phoebe who was crying while gazing at the moon.

The second she saw me, she was so shocked that she fell into the pool.

"Phoebe!" I screamed, and jumped in to pull her out, but well.

"idiot, no need to shout I can swim," she said with a serious face.

"oh right, sorry, but why were you crying?"

"crying? I wasn't," she said as she looked away. classic Phoebe, she is pretty bad at lying.

Sigh, this girl.

While she wasn't looking at me, she was naked but I didn't care, I hugged her "hey, I liked you, no I was practically in love with you, but it's too late now, I can't just go back, and I am pretty sure I am in love with her, so I am really sorry." I said as I loosened my hug.

But she latched on to me and touched my chest with her face. "why? why? was I so late!" she said as I could feel tears dripping from her eyes. I could only reply with sorry, as I let go of her.

"then why don't you accept her too?"

The person who said this wasn't phoebe, nor was it me. but I could very well guess from the voice, it was Cait.
