"wake up" a female voice cheerfully said to me.

because of the voice, I slowly opened my eyes and blurry stared at the strands of red hair in a daze.

'who?'

even though my mind is still fuzzy, I still unconsciously show my appreciation toward the mesmerizing hair in front of me.

"beautiful..."

"EHHH!?!?"

the owner of the red hair seems taken back from my praise, letting out a cute shrieking voice from my side.

I slowly positioned myself to sit on my bed and began inspecting the embarrassed person in front of me.

It was a beautiful girl, probably around the same age as 016, so that's means 14 years old. Her feature seems like a human female. considering the fact that she lacks the feature of a different race. but I don't know. maybe she's a half-breed like 227?

I tried to secretly smell her and found a faint trance of spirit in her body.

ah... a half spirit huh? how rare.

The girl's face is turning red right now, which complements well with her red hair and eyes.

'adorable' I thought inwardly.

Why a cute girl like her suddenly in my room doesn't seem like a big deal. After all, considering the fact that my leader tent to pick up kids here and there as she please already makes me accustomed to found a random kid in my room.

when I was wondering why this girl woke me up on Monday morning, a flash of memories suddenly flashes in my head.

Adopted...

Tenguu City...

I quickly absorb these memories and began understanding my situation.

It seems like, I was transmigrated to another body without notice.

this is weird.

...there's no leader's warning...

...no 117 happy laughter from pulling off a prank...

...and no 206 panicked voice from a failed experiment.

this transportation was so sudden that it makes me confused and repeatedly questioned 'why' in my head.

but even though I am still pretty confused on the inside, I still need to act nonchalant right now.

"Morning, Kotori. I'm awake now. Let me get ready so I can prepare our breakfast soon" I said while rubbing her head gently.

Giving her a last gentle smile, I slowly walked to the bathroom. Leaving my new dazed sister rooted on her spot.

In the bathroom, I began sorting out my new memories in my database.

This body is special. Even though on the surface the memories seem to contain what a normal human boy usually has, I found a few elements of spirit seem to involve in the boy's lives. The memories containing this seems like getting locked, probably from that mosaic person that he meet five years ago. But even then, it still makes me questioned 'why?' which pretty much sums up my current situation.

too many questions but a few answers.

ugh... whatever... it's not like I'm in a dangerous situation. If I was in a dangerous situation, my leader would have interfered since the beginning. the fact that I can transmigrate to this body without problem means my leader has approved this transmigration.

...but why won't she give me a warning or a notice?

this is weird...

...I hope I'm not involved in some weird prank again. I still want to keep my sanity in a reasonable number.

I signed in exasperation. I'm better just enjoy this transmigration ride. Let just count this as my early vacation for now. I'll think about this again tonight.

I scrutiny my new body with a faint feeling.

this body still has a spirit element in there so I won't comment much on the girly physique.

I like the messy blue hair and eyes. It would be cool if my eyes could glowing in the dark like the other spirits in Eden. hmm... maybe I can control the spirit power in this body to do that?

...forget it. Its power is too weak for now. I'll go search for a way to control it later after I raise its quantity a little bit.

I closed my eyes to focus my consciousness deep into my soul. In there, a black miasma can be seen surrounding my soul and I can see a lot of black strings that protecting my main core.

the black miasma was a gift. a gift from my leader and a marking that means I am hers.

the black strings are my power. the power I was born with... and the cause of my misfortune.

I tried to tap one of the strings with my intent to check whether or not I can use my power in this world, and surprise not surprise, I can use it.

*fizzzzz*

A quiet and mellow cracking sound can be heard across the bathroom.

I smiled. At least, I have a trump card to use if my life in this world turns south.

I watch how a black sand-like matter twists and turns on my palm and turns into a black lotus.

I'm intent it to turn into a few things. sword, bow, guns, shield, spear. I make sure to test my power to create each of those because there were my main weapons to use. I even make sure to create my favorite black armor with it.

Good. My true power seems to be tame and under control. Look like Leader has finished fixing it before.

I shook my head lightly.

I'm glad at least she sane enough to not send me defenseless. If not... welp, I'm screwed.

I reach downstairs and found my (new) sister on the couch watching the television.

based on my memories, this was a normal situation so I better start preparing our breakfast soon.

I quietly put on the apron and began making breakfast. out of habit, I seem to hum quietly a song that 013 tends to sing.

I smiled fontly at that.

Kotori seems to notice my good mood, cause she stares at me curiously and asks "you seem to be in a good mood, big bro. did something happen?"

"Yup," I said with a faint smile "I seem to dream about taking care of a bunch of children somewhere. I don't remember much, but I remember their happy smile when I played with them which make me happy" unfortunately, this group of children is full of orphans that have a weird past, or in my leader case, an interesting past.

"Hee~" Kotori said uninterestingly. She probably thought it was just a mere dream though, so I can't blame her.

as I returned to the cooking, the news pop out on the screen. it mentioned that spacequake were happening in Tenguu City.

When I heard about spacequake, I faintly tried to recall what it is.

Spacequakes. widespread vibration phenomena that cause devastation. completely random and capable of occurring anywhere and anytime.

the most famous and most devastating spacequake was the Eurasia sky disaster, which is the very first spacequake that happen and the one that had claimed 150 million lives.

for a period of time, they occurred on a smaller scale all over the world, until eventually they simply stopped.

then around five years ago, they started up again, with an uncomfortable amount of them being in or around the Kanto region of Japan where Tenguu City was located.

I signed.

If my memory is correct, then the cause of these spacequakes is because of the arrival of a spirit. or if my guess is correct, the arrival of a loss control spirit.

A memory about five years ago suddenly flashes before me, which makes me slightly uncomfortable.

In a low mood, I didn't realize I have finished making our breakfast.

"food is ready" I said while putting the plate on the table.

...Just in case, I make sure to told Kotori to be careful.

who knows whether a half spirit like her can attract another spirit?

I'm better to be safe than sorry. After all, just like what 001 once said, if the body that you transmigrated to doesn't have any problem or malfunction, then that means the owner of the body has entrusted you with their life, so if you have a conscience, you better keep their trust. not to screw them.

that's why I have to make sure to keep Kotori safe. even if she was a half spirit or not.
