Mascot-Kun Is Out For Blood

Within some moments, I saw a mascot dressed person from my vision coming toward me. Directly coming from a job?

As he was coming in my vicinity, I felt his movements were unusual. His right hand was behind his back.

I had a bad feeling.

Slowly he came forward, when I was in his range, without warning his arms stretched as he took out the hidden knife and waved it diagonally towards me.

Quickly backing up, I dodged the slash.

This guy was serious! He actually wanted to kill me.

So this is was the real meaning of the battle!

"Seems like you haven't come here to talk."

Sweat ran through my temple. It would be lie to say I wasn't scared but the feeling faded rather quickly.

Not that I was going to die, even if he has a weapon, I am confident enough to put him down.

Feeling my erratic heart calm down, I smiled coldly.

"Come, weird mascot!" This area was quite vacant and I couldn't see any souls nearby...other than the guy in the store.

The mascot ran up to me and slashed again, this time I rotated on the edge of my shoes quickly and chopped down on his wrist holding the knife.

"Clang!"

The knife while somersaulting landed somewhere far.

Seeing my counter being successful, I swung my leg, aiming for his kidney. But before my kick came into contact, he disappeared.

"What?" My eyes widened. Magic? Supernatural?

I mean I did saw that snake come out of smartphone so this shouldn't be that big of a surprise. Rather than surprised, I was fascinated. I knew it, this world wasn't normal after all.

Breaking out of my thought, I stretched my senses I honed after spending countless hours in the dojo with blindfolds.

But the attack wasn't coming. Did he chicken out? No...

I kicked the bag in a certain direction.

"Thump!"

Even though it couldn't hurt anyone it served it's purpose.

"There you are." Previously, I kicked the bag towards where the knife laid. And my judgment was correct. I could see the faintest of disturbance in his camouflage like technique.

Rather than staying on the defensive, I charged before I lose sight of him once again.

He quickly picked up the knife and stab it vertically. With a nimble sweep of my feet, I dodged it again and jumped over his head, and put him in a headlock.

My strong grip on the mascot made him quickly abandon the knife, after that he started throwing his weight around to shake me off but my lock was stronger and I restricted his movement by locking his knee.

He was within my grasp, I knew if I wanted to kill him, I could do so now. But can I?

...Yes, I could. But there is another way.

Rather than twisting his neck to kill him, I strangled him until he was out of breath. When I felt like he was about to pass out, I let go of him. Hurling him towards me and I kneed his nose.

"Aah.."

Blood started soaking his clothes red. He slumped down while gasping for breath. I quickly went forward, turned him around, and locked his hands behind his back with my belt.

Finally, I could take a breather!

"So mascot-san, who are you? And how did you exactly used that trick earlier?"

"Hahahaha!"

I didn't expect him to actually talk but I certainly didn't expect a hollow laughter.

"What's so funny?"

"...nothing. I was just wondering why a character like you would be called a rookie!"

"Ding!"

As he started talking suddenly I heard a notification from my smartphone.

[Time's Up]

"No...I don't want to die...I don't want to die..." suddenly the person inside the mascot started screaming.

As I was about to ask what's going to happen, I saw multiple cube-like projections materializing all over body parts, almost fifty of them. Abruptly one the cubes disappeared...along with that person's body part it occupied.

I jumped back, the foreign concept hand me on high alert. Does this happen to the one who loses? No wonder that guy was screaming as such.

The vivid show of muscles and bones churned my stomach, I wanted to puke. But it wasn't over.

Within second, in front of my eyes, he vanished—completely. The only proof of mascot being here was the little blood splattered on the ground which had been dug into the shape of small cubes. The cubes laying perfectly in a manner that a human could fit inside.

At the same time, I got a message on my smartphone.

I didn't check it right away. First I need to get away from here. Should I call the police? What would I tell them? A mascot character tried to kill me because of a game, and when it failed, it disappeared in dismembering fashion. As if! They would tell me to have a checkup.

No choice, let's first go home. Good thing I don't have any witnesses, well even if I do, they would most likely become an alibi since I just acted on the basis of self-defense.

I opened the cab app, called for one and rid one till home.

My apartment was what you call rich people's apartments. It was spacious with breath-taking views. Since I had money, why not use it?

After taking a long bath, I stood in front of the mirror and combed my hair.

I sighed looking at my handsome face.

"I am such a sinful existence."

What can I say, I was tall, handsome, have a pair of light grey eyes, red hair, and of course my perfectly muscled body. I quickly turn my eyes away from the mirror lest I become homo for myself.

"Looks like the cold shower did wonders. I am able to think calmly and clearly once again."

First thing first, I should check who messaged me since it could be important.

Checking my phone, I found out the message was from an unknown person, rather than messaged on my mobile number it was sent on Darwin's game app.

"Shuka?" This avatar is kinda cute. Let's see what did she messaged.

"Do you need any help, Rai Kuromiya-Kun?"

"Ooh, you defeated him already. Not bad."

There were two messages. Looks like I didn't notice the first message because I was fighting.

I texted her back since she seems like she knows what's going on. But before I did, I checked throughout the app. If there were instructions on how to play the game but I still asked her, I would come across as an idiot. And as someone who loves women, I cannot cope up with that.
