4 Chapter Four: Batcave

'What..is she really worried about this?' Howin admired Zhi's innocents.

But what is with those wild eyes of hers? They are definitely hiding something.

Howin focused, enough with her eyes, she didn't want Zhi to think badly of the boss, so she happily obliged and began explaining. "Last night, the boss called me over asking for help, which is an odd thing for boss to do. But, I hurried over anyway...Do you know what I saw when I got there?"

Zhi shook her head. She honestly could not remember anything about last night after taking those shots at the night club.

"I saw a man watching over a damsel like a knight protecting his princess."

Zhi's face turned red.

"In the end, he only called me over to undress a woman and put fresh pajamas on her. This was something that one of the many women on his staff, who by they way were already present- and not sleeping, could have done but he demanded that a trusted friend do it. That's the kind of man boss is."

Zhi felt relief. 'Good, he is still worthy of the title hero then.'

After talking with each other for a bit, Zhi finally hopped in the shower. It was absolutely amazing. The hot water washed over her, soothing her nerves. For the 1st time in a year, she was enjoying herself. It was like at that moment, nobody could touch her. Not her father, not her stepmother, not her stepsister. Nothing and no one could find her at a place like this.

Sadly getting out of the shower was an unfortunate fate that she couldn't change. "Till next time shower. I swear we will meet again." She got dressed in the outfit Howin left for her and headed back down to find Tadashi.

Tadashi and the 3 others were saying their goodbyes when obnoxiously loud alarms started blaring throughout the house, followed by 3 explosions from the main exits of the house.

The four people in the room didn't wait a moment before reacting. Tadashi gave Howin an order to find Zhi and get her to safety, while the others pulled out guns that were hidden on their persons and dispersed towards the explosions.

All 4 of them were trained assassins and were highly trained for situations like this. Howin had already reached Zhi and was pulling and ushering her down a hallway in the opposite direction.

An angry voice rang throughout the house. "Tadashi Gao, you offended the wrong person this time. Come out and greet death."

This man was armed to the teeth and brought at least 15 trained men along.

"Oh yeah. Tell me, what did I do to earn such a visit." Tadashi's calm voice called out.

"You killed my little brother. What other reason could I have?" the man bellowed.

"Oh, and who is your brother my friend, you're going to have to be more specific." Tadashi acted innocently.

The intruder wondered how many people Tadashi had killed for him to not no his sin right away. "You are no friend of mine, you dirty swine."

The two men were face-to-face now. Tadashi gave a little pouty face, "Oh, don't be like that. I'm sure you're just mistaken." Tadashi said, antagonizing him.

"My brother's name is Chun liwei! He died last night at the docks. He was in Shishi territory and his death means war. One that will cost you everything. Now die."

Tadashi was concerned, last night was a secret mission. He had been wearing his mask during the whole operation. How was it that the targets brother was knocking at his door?

Tadashi, Howin and the two men from the breakfast table, Xiaobo and Minzhe were all government assassins. They had taken many precautions to keep situations like this from never happening. What could have happened for things to have gone this wrong?

Unfortunately, either way the grieving man and his men had now entered his home uninvited with ill intentions. This was an absolute no-no. Especially now that Zhi Ruo was there.

Oh God, what would she think of all this? Tadashi had barely said a few words to the woman and now she would probably run far away from him the next chance she got. This had to end quickly.

With Zhi in mind, it wasn't another 2 seconds later that the man in front of Tadashi was dead on the floor. The 5 men that had been by his side were quickly taken care of ages ago. The arrogant man had never once bothered to look towards his men. He must have thought that they were invincible. unfortunately for them, they had died the second their boss dared call out the name Tadashi Gao.

The rest of the intruders had scattered. They were ordered to kill everyone in the house. Even the help.

Howin, who was guiding Zhi to the underground base, had already managed to take three of them down herself. She was a skilled fighter and a master of hand to hand combat. Within a couple of minutes, she had fulfilled her duty to her boss by successively extracting Zhi and placing her in the most secure place on the property. 'The bat cave.'

Down in what they referred to as the 'bat cave' was an underground base. Lights flickered on by themselves the moment they entered.

Zhi was shocked to see a makeshift military looking base with all the bells and whistles. Just who exactly are these people?

Zhi was now focusing on Howin. She was blown away by how impressive Howin truly was. She had completely saved and protected her and then, it hit her. Shame. it instantly filled her heart. Howin had actually waited on her like a personal servant, getting her a towel and a change of clothes? Thinking about it made her feel silly. 'What must this women think of me now?'
