34 Lack of Love

"Well, that's the end of his story though." Mr. Carson stands up and pats on his hip.

"Charles..how did you know about Mr. James story? You're not that old to know all of that, are you?" Luna looked at him, she has been meaning to ask him about this since the beginning.

"Oh, didn't I tell you? My father was the head butler in the main Wayne mansion. I joined after I finished my master's degree, so everything that happens in that household has been told to me. Just for precaution or maybe..a historian for Wayne family?" He chuckled.

"Ah~ that makes sense." Doctor Fang said while bobbed his head. He also has the same curiosity as her in the beginning.

"I see..so, do you know about my mother-in-law? I mean, did she actually a good or bad person? I really want to know."

"Haa~ young blood huh? Full of curiosity." Mr. Carson sighs.

"Well, for that...I can only say, you better be careful around her, nor your father-in-law. The person who I believe had a good heart is within Madam Lara's family. She is Mr. Jacob's wife. She has two twins couple, two of the twin already married and had a child."

"Oh, now you mention it, I totally agree with you. Madam Lara and her children are all good people in Wayne. Different from Madam Barbara and Mr. Agustine. Maybe because Mr. Jacob really treasures his wife and kid when he was still alive."

"Really? Think I saw them last time?" Luna tries to recall back her memory of everyone in the banquet on her wedding day. She did saw a few children playing around though, but her memory is a bit hazy about that day.

"Yeah, I think you do. But, you'll meet them again later. They gonna hold a family meeting each year around October. All of Wayne bloodline will be there. Including you, Luna." Mr. Carson reminds her about the upcoming event in a few months plan. Now is still at the end of July. A new semester will begin soon, a graduation day approaching Luna faster than she thought.

"Right…we should head back inside. Or it'll be suspicious. We should split our way back then.."Doctor Fang says as the three of them already back on the foot. Ready to leave the maze garden.

After split up their way, Luna takes Danny to his lodge house. When she arrives, her eyes become wide when she saw someone at the lodge area, bending his body down like searching for something.

"H-Hey.." Luna started, her voice trembling a bit.

Turning his head around, he shot her a glare which could make one tremble in fear.

"Where did you bring him in the middle of the night?"

"Oh, um.. he's lost a while back ago and I go to find him with Mr. Carson and also with a help of Doctor Fang, he was hiding in the maze garden when I found him."

"Are you an idiot?" He walks to her like he gonna murder her anytime.

"Wha..what's that supposed to mean?" She retreats a step back.

"This house is secured with high security. If Danny runs away, just let him be. Tomorrow the maid will find him, it's not your job to find him in the middle of the night. You really piss me off."

Scoffing, Luna bit her lips a bit. "Scuse' me? I know your house is guarded with high security, but I can't just let him die, electrocute by the fence the moment the maids found him tomorrow. Who's the idiot here?" The last word, she murmurs it in a low voice, so that he can't hear her, but unfortunately, he heard it clearly.

"You actually dare to talk back to me, huh? You really ungrateful virago." He clicks his tongue.

"Did you...Did you just call me, virago??" She snapped.

"Yeah, virago. That word suit you!"

Feeling angry, Luna took a rubber ball, which is Danny's toys and throw it right at his face.

Bonk!

"You're a dickhead!"

He glares at her with sharp eyes. Ready to fight her. The moment he moves his legs, his stomach growl loudly to which Luna and Danny flinched by it.

The two of them thought it was the sound of he who wants to murder her but guess it was wrong.

….

15 minutes later,

"Here. Enjoy your supper." Luna put a plate of sandwich on the kitchen island countertop. It's the only thing she could only make right now in the middle of the night.

"What is this? Its look cheap full of veg." He insulting her sandwich while glancing at the plate. Still dissatisfied with her attitude who dare to talk back to him.

"That is a sandwich. It may look cheap but eat it anyway. Or I'll throw it to the trashbin if you're not eating it." Luna pushes the plate slowly to him.

Growl~

"See! Even your stomach know how to lower its ego. You should do it too, or you'll die hunger. Hah!"

"Don't you know, I don't eat cheap food."

"Well, I'm sorry. That's all I have to offer you. Because last time you help me fix my hair, just treat it as a thank-you meal." Luna takes out the stool under the kitchen island countertop and sat down, facing the man who still resists eating the sandwich.

"Hmph!" He then turns his head around and took one bite from the sandwich very quick.

While he chewing the sandwich, his forehead creased a bit. Like he just eats something delicious that he can't even describe through word, but only for a moment before he tries to act cool like before.

"Come on, finish this sandwich. I know your stomach still upset with the small portion you bite earlier." She looks at the plate before she looks at the man in front of her.

Well, if she looks closely, he actually not that dangerous. His tongue might be sharp, and his gaze always showing a cold demeanor, but, at some point, he can listen to someone too. He knows when he had to put down his ego.

She wants to talk to him more. After knowing the story behind his accident, a little bit puzzle in her mind starts to move to its place. Somehow, she wants to learn more about him. Re-shape him back to how it was supposed to. He had this bad temper probably because of the lack of love from his parent.
