16 Chapter 16: New Request

~Yami POV~

*Thud*

*Slam*

Finally some peace and quiet from that mistake of a wrong turn.

Good grief not only do I have to be careful of heroes but also dumb villains in the process great that is certainly something I need.

Getting to the bar counter I see that the girls are enjoying their drinks and talks as Kuorgiri praises me about them, "I have to say Yami-san your brainwashing on these girls into our side is certainly something and that Momo girl. Her quirk <Creation> has been a great help replenishing our stocks and weaponry."

Smirking at Kurogiri I motioned my hand for a soft drink as he complies as he gets one while I reply to him, "Yeah Momo and her quirk is basically an infinite versatile use to creating items with her brain to something unbelievable. Although as a use for a hero it's basically pointless if she's in the front lines. She is more suited for the support team member, right?"

As I drink the soft drink soda Kurogiri nods his head as he reminisces about the boss, "Ah yes. Even master was surprised by Momo's quirk that he wished to have it. Shame it's too complicated to use and she uses it much better than that and my lord is more into simple use quirks."

I made a small laugh at that comment as I reply to the mist man enjoying my drink, "Yeah it's too complicated to be useful but what's your opinion on the others?"

Kurogiri made a slight chuckle at the question as I continue to sip my soda as he finally spoke in a light-hearted tone, "Hahaha… I suppose the rest are useful in their own ways. That gravity girl with her quirk is certainly useful transferring heavy objects, the invisible girl for stealth, the earphone girl for her search for sound, and the hyperactive one very deadly with her acid…"

Grinning at this I asked him if he followed the news happening with an excited tone, "Yeah these girls are useful but as killers even better. Say have you seen the news of what's happening from today?"

*Click*

Kuorgiri nods his head as he turns on the tv for the current news as we all listened to what the television spoke, "Breaking news the newest villain on the block Blackout have vanished and fled from the police and heroes' support in an attempt to capture him. However, from other sources, he managed to escape the combined efforts of the police and heroes as he somehow summoned the night during the day… "

Kurogiri looks at me impressed if I could assume as the girls saw thus as he responds to me in a deep voice, "Turning the literal day into night? Now that is certainly a powerful quirk? Actually, what is your quirk anyway?"

Well…

I guess I could reply the name of my quirk but no more than that as I say to him, "Well… my quirk doesn't have a name yet so I'll stick with <Dark> for the unique use of its abilities but then again I'm still not used to my power. Say do you happen to know a place where I can practice?"

Kuorgiri examines me as he nods his head a bit as he explains to me, "Really now? You just awaken it then that could explain a few things as someone like you I would've expected some combat experience from training… Hmm… as for a training place why not go to the underground fight club run by the master?"

An underground fight club?

There was something like that in the show before.

Was it in another series or a key detail I missed in the show?

That made me confused as the rest of the girls also looked at Kurogiri expecting an explanation as he sighs at us, "Sigh…You young kids these days are very dumb these days. A while back say 4 or 5 years ago master created a place to steal quirks in illegal fights in Osaka a while back before the current rabbit hero interrupted his plans with All Might taking care of it."

Ok if it was illegal then why the hell didn't the police or heroes do something about it?

Wanting an answer to this question I asked Kurogiri in clear confusion as to why didn't they shut it down, "If that is the case then why hasn't it been closed done for good already if All Might and the police took care of the issue?"

Kurogiri chuckled at this as he replies to me in a cold voice while explaining to me the rules of the place, "The Underground Masquerade is an illegal event that organizes guerrilla fighting tournaments that pit fighters against each other and run the books for the betting audience. The event takes place in the middle of Osaka, hidden in a parking structure. Many are the people who attend to enjoy the pit fights, although they can also be watched through streaming."

Raising my eyebrow at this I can get the reason why they haven't been shut down was probably because of powerful people and connections with All for One must be pretty big names to have on his side.

Listening in I hear what Kurogiri continues in his explanation to us about the whole place in Osaka in an informative voice, "The fighting is one on one and everything is allowed in the fight: Deadly moves, weapons, and Quirks are allowed, even some of the fighters use uppers and Quirk-boosting drugs. Due to this, it is normal that one or both fighters end up seriously wounded, needing medical attention, although there is also news of missing persons in connection with this event."

As if on cue Kurogiri laughs about this as he confesses about the disappearances of the people as if he was remembering a fond time, "I'll be honest the kidnappings have been done in by me by my lord request although I do go there time to time to see if there are any good catches that my Lord wants."

Ok, I get this much All for One wanted to create this place and this does bring in all kinds of people.

Especially the people with big egos and hero complexes as well as other powerful political powers as well.

Hell, the HPSC (Hero Public Safety Commission) was a law enforcement agency responsible for managing the interactions between heroes and society as a whole and for investigating the most dangerous cases of criminality.

Although the safety commission has been trusted by society to keep the peace; in all actuality, the organization is extremely corrupt and commits very immoral acts to protect society's image of heroes sometimes at the expense of innocent people as means to maintain the status quo.

They even forced their hitwoman Lady Nagant to murder anyone who threatened to disrupt the peace it's even implied that they ordered the deaths of measly protesters and it's suggested that anyone who threatens to expose them must be eliminated as the previous chairman of the corporation seemed to have been planning to kill Lady Nagant if she resigned.

Actually, I should add Lady Nagant to my group with her expertise in killing this would make an ideal teacher for the girls.

I should find a way to break my way into Tartarus Prison to get her out as soon as possible.

If you add the HPSC need for people like talented people and skilled people with its corruption and the underground masquerade for people wanting to be heroes…

Suddenly going wide-eyed at the idea, I can see that the HPSC won't shut it down unless they can also profit from it from any illegal goods to fresh fighters for them to hire especially the hero fanatics.

Efficient even in the process.

Inspiring heroes and heroes' complexes play a big role here as the wanna-be heroes would need a place to train and earn fighting experiences and if the HPSC offers them to be 'heroes' then they would jump at the chance.

I have to admit that is a really good idea for everyone to benefit from all of this and if by the chance they refuse they can easily remove them in the process if they disobey or go further to label them as villains in society even.

That is how much power and influence they have over this hero vs villain society and anyone who questions them is silenced.

Tch.

Annoying money grubbers is what they are I would've killed them all if I wasn't so weak like in that fight with the Volcano thieves and a large number of disadvantages.

I have to get stronger in a short span in a year talking about a tall order to get to before the war begins or the fight with All Might and All for One

So, I listen in to what Kurogiri says about the place as there was a rule in place for it, "The only known rule is a dress code that obliges all those attending this event, whether they are fighters or spectators, must wear a mask that hides their face. These fights take place on the weekends every night at Osaka are you interested Yami-san?"

Grinning at this idea I nodded my head to this but that was also when Kurogiri asked a request from the boss, "Also young Yami-san, All for One has requested that you capture some people for the Nomu project. My lord is willing to pay the price for a useful quirk user with a decent quirk to add more Yen into the deal."

Cha-Ching!

When he brought the idea out loud I asked Kurogiri in a cruel tone as I asked him the question that seems to make him smile, "Say Kurogiri I was wondering if you are willing to have the villain from the Volcano Thieves with her having a quirk called <Dust> able to produce ash-like substance from the body?"

Kurogiri then chuckles at this as I brought out Konako unconscious body as I hand her over to him as a purple mist consumes her as he replies to me, "Very good… I will fast forward this to the lord is there anything you wish Yami-san?"

Grinning at this I decided to ask Kurogiri a curious question that I wanted to ask, "Say Kurogiri… is there a chance that you can get me in the U.A. high school once more?"

He nodded at this although asked for a reason in a curious tone, "Tell me what would you do for this chance to enter again?"

Grinning like an animal wanting his prey I replied to him in a calm tone, "Since the boss needs more people he needs high-quality users with quirks where else than the U.A. high school to find such specimens dressed as a citizen and not a villain during the U.A. sports festival? Right?"
