1 Chapter 1: Fire

Everything that Isac had loved disappeared in a flash. The home he had been living in for his whole life, the people in there who had loved Isac no matter what and the village that had protected him from the world beyond that would stop at nothing to find him. However, now that the flames had taken all that away all he could think about was surviving. The thought of his home was fading, replaced for the thought of food and shelter. Now that boy who had nothing to fear was lost in a forest that wouldn't protect him. So he had to decide at a young age that he would protect himself. The only way to do that was to leave everything behind and become someone new, someone one that would not have mercy, who would do anything to survive, and never to trust anyone but himself.

. . .

Now Isac had lived in the forest for years and he had learned to hunt and fight. Most importantly to heal. He had figured out what any animal's weak point was and how to treat the wounds that were an effect from figuring that out. He learned which herbs and plants were healthy and which were poisonous. Also, he learned how to build a stable shelter to protect him from all kinds of weather. He skinned animals to provide him with additional clothing to keep him warm, teaching himself to sow with sharpened bones and string he had stolen from lost travelers to create a pair of gloves and a hat that sat atop Isacts ruby red hair like it was a part of him.

Now he thought that he was finally ready for the outside world. the world beyond the forest he had known. Again leaving behind treasured memories that would be forgotten. To create new ones that would make him stronger.

Isac stood and took his bag, filled with his essentials like weapons and food. He took apart his little camp assembling all of it in one pile that was far enough from most of the trees and wildlife. He took a stick and light it on fire. Then without a single moment of hesitation, he threw the stick into the pile and the home he had known for the past years, again was lost to the hands of fire. And like nothing Isac moved towards the north and never looked back.
