6 The Fall of Raikath

Finally he reached it, The stone. Lygard was in close proximity of the stone, however the negative energy was powerful and threatening to throw Lygard away. At this point Lygard's speed dropped severely the pure negative lightning struck at random without his speed if Lygard was struck he would be pushed back and heavily injured.

The mages began to cast negative repelling barriers and shields around Lygard. The other royal guards held the daemons back from attacking the mages. As the barrier was erected Lygard felt a bit of his speed and strength return. He pushed his way forward and was now only 5 meters from the centre of the rift. The dark energy erupted once again shattering the barrier.

Luckily the barrier was there or he would have been forced back.

Once again the negative energy returned and caused Lygard to become winded. Despite this he continued.

Drawing his sword he lifted it above his head and with all his might swung downwards at the stone.

At first contact the rift exploded the daemons, royal guards and mages were all pushed back Lygard was flung back several meters away from where he started. Solia and Sythia ducked and hugged the ground. The stone remained unharmed but the rift was going out of control.

The stone grew brighter and as the mages and guards stood back up the stone exploded and released thousands of small shard in every direction.

The mages and guards were all struck and killed. Lygard was able to erect his emergency barrier by crushing his necklace.

Behind the bodies of the mages Sythia was unconscious and hugging her tightly was Solia.

Her face was strangely calm and her eyes shut as if she was asleep. Lygard looked over to Sythia and to his dismay, he witnessed the dead body of Solia protecting her daughter to death with shards protruding from her back.

Within Sythia's hand was the purple stone. it turned into a liquid and disappeared into Sythia's hand.

Zash had taken down three beast including the first one. They were just about to kill their forth when a large rift appeared in the middle of their battle.

This one was much larger than the first one experience by Lygard. It was several times larger. A bone chilling screech could be heard coming from the rift.

Thr ground shook and the daemons fled. Suddenly a large serpent like creature erupted from the rift. It was huge it took three beast to completely wrap around it's body and who know how many to become as tall.

The serpent needle teeth stuck out as it gave the chilling screech. The scales on its body were harder than anything Raikath could muster. Magic, swords, empowered attack could not penetrate it's thick scales. It shot from its mouth green corrosion sludge which instantly turned any man into a puddle. The Serpent with it's nimble body crashed through the daemons and headed for the wall.

The serpent and it's unstoppable force crashed into the wall taking down the entire middle section of the wall.

Zash watch in disbelief as the serpent decimated the city and castle. His home was gone. Thinking about his daughter and wife and hopped they got away in time. He gave a war cry and once again started to slash at the daemons. The rift however began to fluctuate the energy became uneven. The rift was about to collapse.

Zash foresaw his impending death and so did the elites.

The rift drew back all the negative energy and compressed it, much like a supernova the compressed energy was released in one go obliterating everything. Raikath had fallen.
